- I was able to resolve the no start issue by creating/using another user profile on the respective Xbox Series X system and try to start the game this way (which as expected didnt work as the game has to be started by the account that purchased the game.) This led me back to using my gamer profile and allowed me to login - at such time it synchronized back to the system from the cloud and allowed me to start the game normally by pressing A.
Thus the problem cant be (just) the local saved game status and must be in the quick resume area and how it is eventually erased.
I've checked my player profile and can successfully start and continue the game on an Xbox One - on the Xbox Series X the game will not allow me to quick resume or respond to pressing A to start the game. I have deleted my local saved games and rebooted several times with no change. This problem first occurred today 6/19/2021.
