Ubisoft Devs - I hope you make this right for the people who cannot finish the Insurgency quest line this week because of issues related to the Vaas Insanity update/patch that was pushed last week. We should be compensated any rewards from that questline and any future Insurgency questlines provided these issues are not resolved in a timely manner. This is not on our end or our PC's/consoles. This has been shown to be related to Ubisoft Connect and Ubisoft servers. We should not be penalized for any missed rewards/opportunities because of issues caused by the latest update/patch.
I love the Far Cry series. But this launch (which was delayed more than once) and this game are becoming more of a bad memory than something I will remember positively. I am also one who spends money in the store on your bundles/weapons/items/etc and that is going to start becoming an issue for me because I am losing faith/trust in your team/company. I know I am one person. But I really feel that speaking with my wallet instead of just words on this forum will mean more in the long run.
Can confirm that putting Ubisoft Connect in Offline mode does not cause a CTD when airdrop/fast travel is used. Tried multiple times this morning doing the insurgency items (minus spec ops) with zero crashes. As soon as I turned Ubisoft Connect back to Online and I try to fast travel/airdrop, CTD occurs. It also occurs if I try to start the Spec Op mission for this week's insurgency. Go offline.....fast travel works. Go online.....fast travel is broken. This has been proven and repeatable across many individuals here in this thread. This tells me it is not a person's individual system causing this issue. As a previous poster said, it points to Ubisoft's servers and something going on there. It is not our PC's, the game install, corrupted files, conflicting programs/services, etc.
Please fix this before this week's insurgency ends, Ubisoft!
Something also changed this week regarding the Insurgency questline.
Last week - I was able to go offline and still see the Insurgency locations (FND base, AA sites, checkpoints) and was able to fast travel to those locations and complete them. The only thing that I couldn't complete was the Spec Ops mission and, thus, the final mission to complete the Insurgency for last week.
This week - I went offline like last week except for this time there are no Insurgency quest markers on my map. La Jolla is the Insurgency area this time and nothing shows up on my map nor in my journal nor in the Insurgency tab. Again, this is when I put Ubisoft Connect into Offline mode.
What it all boils down to is this: in order to complete any of the Insurgency missions this week, I have to be online (which breaks Fast Traveling/Airdropping/Spec Ops missions) and I have to go to each Insurgency marker (AA/Checkpoint/FND base) by manually traversing the landscape (by air vehicle or by foot) to get to each marker. Even when those items are complete, I still won't be able to complete the Insurgency missions because I won't be able to do the Spec Ops mission.
It wasn't too bad last week in the sense that I didn't feel I wasted my time doing what I could with regards to the Insurgency missions because I could fast travel to the Insurgency markers while Offline. But now it seems Ubisoft saw fit to make this broken game even more of a nuisance by making those of us with this issue have to get to each marker even more difficult and time-consuming.
Maybe Ubisoft tried to fix things and just made things worse? Seems about right and par for the course. This is ridiculous!!
@ubi-borealis I am not sure why this post/issue is marked as "solved" when it clearly is not. Can you please provide an explanation as to how this issue is resolved? Or by what metric you are marking this issue resolved? A lot of us are still experiencing crashing when fast traveling/airdropping or trying to join a spec ops match (solo and co-op). Playing with Ubisoft Connect in an OFFLINE state is not a fix! Please do not tell us that this is why the post/thread has been marked as resolved!
I have receiveed emails from the support staff that I was working with on this issue and they have said the developers are aware of the issue but, as support staff, they are not informed as to when a patch/hotfix will be released. Please give us an update as to the status of this issue from the developer's side of things.
Again....just to be clear.......THESE ISSUES IN THIS POST ARE NOT RESOLVED OR FIXED AS OF 12-01-21!!
Can one of the mods confirm this:
When playing OFFLINE, I can see the insurgency quest markers on my map. It also tells me that when I complete the takeover of the checkpoints, FND bases, anti-aircraft bases, I can get "x" amount of moneda. I can fast travel/airdrop to these locations without issue and complete these objectives. The only thing I cannot do is the Spec Op mission (due to being offline) which means I cannot complete the insurgency.
My issue is this: even though I complete the checkpoint, FND bases, and anti-aircraft components of the insurgency in an OFFLINE state, the moneda that should have been granted to me for completing those quests (this week is like $1K moneda) does not transfer over to my save when I go back ONLINE?
I just finished this week's insurgency quest line (minus the Spec Ops) OFFLINE and thought the moneda would kick in once I went ONLINE but it did not. It sounds like I have to be ONLINE to get the rewards for doing what I can of the weekly Insurgency. Before I could complete what I could of the Insurgency and at least be rewarded the moneda for doing that in an OFFLINE state. But now I have to be ONLINE to get the quest rewards for a quest line I cannot even complete because of the issues stated in this thread.
Why is it that I can collect resources (gasoline, medicine, bandidos operatives, metal parts, etc. in an OFFLINE state and all of that transfers over to my saved game when switching back to ONLINE. But the moneda I should have earned from completing what quests I could doesn't transfer over? Had I known this, I would have grinded my way around the region (it's a huge region and lots of objectives this week) ONLINE and got my moneda.
And still no word from ANYBODY as to any kind of status update and/or resolution!
Where are the mods? I guess they are just ignoring us now since there is nothing they can do and "it's going to take some time" to fix this.
What a joke! If there is another Ubi game in the future that I want to play, I will force myself to wait a year when it is $20 or less and all the bugs have been worked out. The way this is going, it will be a year from now for them to solve this issue. Watch them say that in order to fix this, we have to delete our saved games because there is no way to fix our corrupted saves to sync up properly with Ubisoft Connect!
I just sent these two short videos to Ubisoft Support hoping this helps.
First video: Ubisoft Connect set to an ONLINE state. As soon as I hit F to fast travel, I get a CTD with the normal window that pops up afterwards syncing my game/achievements to the cloud:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/4etep0y67zps8ah/FC6%20CTD.MP4?dl=0
Second video: Ubisoft Connect set to an OFFLINE state. I am able to fast travel without issue 4 different times with no CTD. I am able to exit the game normally and the game syncs like normal.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/xsvvztrw6ak9i8i/FC6%20Offline_No%20CTD.MP4?dl=0
Hopefully someone at Ubisoft will see these and hopefully get this issue fixed quickly! Time is running out on this week's insurgency.
@ubi-thrupney Hopefully this helps:
Everything PRIOR to the Vaas Insanity patch/update worked as expected with regards to fast traveling/airdropping/spec ops. Whatever items were in the Ubisoft store were purchased by me and they didn't break the gameplay at all. This includes any bundles, weapons, cosmetics, spray cans, vehicles, horses, etc. I bought them all so I know those didn't affect gameplay.
As soon as the Vaas Insanitry patch/upgrade went live, that is the exact moment that things broke. If bundles or items were released at that point, I would have bought them as well that same day. I just can't recall if there were any bundles/items/etc released right at that moment. I did eventually buy the "Breaking Bad" bundles (both of them) and anything new I could purchase whenever items were available.
But it all started once the Vaas Insanity upgrade/patch went live. I can confirm that my step-son purchased the base game and has not, to this date, bought the Season Pass or any items in the Ubisoft store. He owns just the base game and can run it without any of the issues in this thread. There are still all kinds of bugs with his game that have been there since launch day (i.e. micro-stutters when looting consumables like medicine, gasoline, and metal parts). But none of these issues in this thread are present for him.
AND THAT RIGHT THERE IS WHY THIS IS SO FRUSTRATING AND INFURIATING ON MY END!!! I have spent more than $200 on this game between the ultimate package and Ubisoft store credits to purchase the items mentioned above. I had no problem doing that because I love the FC series and I am a completionist. But this issue caused by the Vaas Insanity DLC upgrade/patch has SPECIFICALLY SCREWED OVER the customers who are financially supporting the game/devs past the base cost of the game. At least that is what all of our testing, experience, and temporary workarounds (albeit those workarounds still don't let us play Spec Ops) have shown to this point.
As I said before, this is absolutely ridiculous!!!
Every time I switch from OFFLINE Ubisoft Connect to ONLINE Ubisoft Connect and log in, I always get these purchased items re-populating themselves into my inventory:
Keep in mind that none of the other items that go along with each package (outfits, guns, car accessories, etc.) show themselves as re-populating my inventory. Just the vehicles from these packages.
Purchased individual transport vehicles that re-populate themselves when I switch from OFFLINE Ubisoft Connect to ONLINE Ubisoft Connect:
These are all of the available transport items (not including the horses) that can be purchased from the online store
And these 3 vehicles that I am not sure where they were obtained from:
Every single time, without fail, I get these items re-populating themselves in my inventory when going from an OFFLINE state to an ONLINE state. Some of these bundles/items were available on launch day. Some of them were available on/after the Vaas Insanity DLC patch/update. I don't know if this information is helpful or not. But I know myself and others are seeing this happen. I don't know if this would have happened PRIOR to the update because I wasn't forced into playing offline due to the issues mentioned in this thread.
Just hoping this issue gets resolved sooner rather than later (not holding my breath). Being at the end game, the only reason to continue to play is Spec Ops, Insurgencies, and farming moneda. Can't do ANY OF THAT when I cannot join a Spec Ops game due to being forced into playing in OFFLINE mode.
I have been going back and forth with Ubisoft Support all day. Sent dxdiag reports, msinfo32 files, had me try disabling all my startup programs and startup services, uninstalling/reinstalling MS Visual Studio C++ versions (which they sent links to dead web pages in my support email), tried uninstalling/reinstalling the game, used DDU to cleanly and completely remove my Nvidia graphics drivers and doing a clean install of the latest drivers. Nothing worked!
Come on Ubi - I don't believe this in on my (or any of the people in this thread complaining of the same issue) end!
What is more likely:
A computer that hasn't changed its startup programs, startup services, forwarded ports on their routers, installed applications, etc is conflicting with an aspect of the game? Mind you, we can get into the game fine. Gameplay is what it was prior to the Vaas Insanity update (at least on my end). I can roam around Patriotas Peak without issue. I can use the workbench, do Bandidos operations, talk to Lola, and look at the items in the Black Market without issue! Only when I decided to fast travel/airdrop does the game CTD. I honestly don't see how any of these resolutions/fixes Ubi keeps telling me to explore can affect an in-game function. The program itself? Sure. I could see that being possible and realistic. But for any of these fixes to actually fix in-game functionality (when the game runs the way it should, loads properly, etc) is a huge stretch for me to believe.
OR
That the Vaas Insanity update/patch from a day or two ago borked something up in the game which messed up fast traveling/airdropping?
Paid $120 for the Ultimate edition and since launch, it has been a buggy mess on my end. When it works, it is a blast. When it doesn't, it is frustrating beyond reason.
@antichrist7 I had the same issue. And I am not sure why. The only way I was able to fix it was to email Ubisoft Support and report the issue. I believe they had me take screen captures of my journal showing all the completed quests, of my resolvar inventory, and of the error in my achievements log. It took a few days of back and forth with Ubisoft Support but they did end up fixing it. If there is another way, cool. But I couldn't figure it out at the time (approx. a couple of months ago) and they did fix it.
I also can confirm that the issue(s) are fixed! Fast travel, airdropping do not cause a CTD anymore. I was also able to do a Spec Ops mission (solo) and complete this week's Insurgency. Thank you, Ubisoft, for finally fixing this! I would really love to hear what the issue was and how it was resolved. I don't need any detailed explanation. I would just like to hear the root cause of the issue. Thank you again
@scotterius I hear ya. I totally believe that this is on Ubi's end and not ours. All I am saying is that I could easily see Ubisoft saying that because our saves and their servers cannot sync up properly with regards to purchased items, the only solution is for a new game/new save to be implemented. This in turn means our game saves are deleted and our new saves re-populated with "correct" bundle/package items that can be properly synced with Ubi's servers. Is it bulls!$%? Yes. Is it lazy? Yes. But I could totally see them saying something like this.
On a side note, I have noticed that after the latest patch/update, whenever I switch from OFFLINE back to ONLINE, the purchased horses from the "transport" section of the online store are now re-populating my inventory. Previously, it was just the vehicles from the bundles or purchased individually from the "transport" section of the online store. Horses are re-populating now for some reason.
Also....is anyone else having the issue where the measurement of "game time" is not increasing at all? When I completed the game at 100%, I had 73 hours as a time stamp. That was well before the Nov. 16th patch. And it has not moved in almost a month. I KNOW I have spent more time in-game since then yet no increase in the game time value.
As stated before.....when Ubi fixes one thing, two or more things get broken in the process.
Where are the mods? I guess they are just ignoring us now since there is nothing they can do and "it's going to take some time" to fix this.

@bushliu1995 JorRaptor, LaserBolt, and LegacyGaming are the three that I watch. I’m sure there are others.

@tlr_87 That's all well and good. But we are specifically talking about the green checkmark on this specific thread. Hopefully, you see it next to the title of the thread at the top of the screen next to the big, black bold-typeface. That is what we are referencing. This thread should not be checked off as "solved" or "resolved." Because none of the issues in this thread are resolved or fixed. If it is not marked as solved or fixed in the mega-thread, it should not be checked off in this thread.
