Teleport to Ravensthorpe and remove disguise. Worked for me.

There is a skill - not sure what it's called - that chain attacks melee and bow. Most likely that and not a bug.

1. Upgrade your rations.
2. Upgrade your armor.
3. Parry. Dodge. Block with a shield.
4. Use your bow.
5. Easy mode - get a 2 handed axe and just heavy attack then stomp.

Zealots are super easy once you have the ability that catches and throws back enemy projectiles. Just kite them around from range and throw their spear back at them. Knocks them down every time - use that time to hit weak points/headshots with the bow. Rinse, repeat.
