@metroid_meister Have you gotten your achievements yet? Because they still havent shown up for me, and I'm like an hour or so into the DLC already.
EDIT: just double checked, and they are there, but can only be viewed when I look at my entire library of games. If I'm viewing the achievements of Valhalla on their own, it only shows 1000 GS.
@phoenixmoss damn. Here I thought this was going to be a thread where we get to bash Ubisoft for their awful post-launch antics. You know, 97% of the content released so far hidden behind a paywall, the River Raids addition being nothing but a 2 - 3 hour repetitive grindfest in which your prize is a reskinned Thegn armor, etc etc...
But no... we're talking about cats. Okay.
@olmergrey First of, I think we're past the term "microtransactions" when some of these armor sets cost $20... a third of the full game or an entire DLC.
Second of, these optional purchases in the store do affect my gameplay. Why? Because a lot of these sets were added into the game very early on, aka, they were purposely cut of the game I paid almost $300 bucks for. This applies to at least the first couple, the valkyrie set and the black one with fumes coming out from it. Not to mention some of them are quite [censored] good. And that wouldn't be the biggest deal in the world if the base game had enough content, but it clearly doesnt. It only includes NINE sets.... which matches how many are in the store. So, by the time we actually get the first DLC, the number of sets in store will greatly outnumber what's obtainable in game. That's [censored] pathetic in a fully priced AAA, singleplayer only game.
And lastly to your point about AC being more about gameplay than armor sets... I fail to see how this applies to the modern day games??? The franchise has all but abandoned its roots and morphed into a looter/RPG ever since Origins released in 2016. Your argument would hold merit if we were talking about AC1, when there was one armor set and no MTX... but those days are long gone unfortunately. Ubisoft wants a huge focus to be on finding gear and weapons throughout their gigantic maps, yet hide much of their content behind a paywall
Correction, HAS been out of [censored] control. Here's a video by Fizhy discussing it in length. I'm sure this has been talked about, but I dont really care. It's very disheartening spending almost $300 on the Collector's edition (Canadian dollar sucks + shipping), and then opening up the store and seeing equal the amount of armor sets and weapons as earnable in [censored] game. Not to mention how overpriced this half garbage is. I thought after all the backlash GR: Breakpoint received over its horrendous ingame store, [censored] was supposed to change? Appanretly not, greedy Ubisoft hasn't learned a thing. Aka, they don't give a damn.
Anyways... here's the vid lol
@sattium85 I was about to make a thread about this. 100% spot on.
Ubisoft delayed all their games after the [censored] disaster that was Breakpoint.... but apparently it was for no goddamn reason. The store in Valhalla is worse than in any other AC game and it's only getting worse. At least with Odyssey, there was so much variety with armor sets and weapons you didn't really need the store. But as JorRaptor pointed out, very soon the amount of gear in store will outweigh what's obtainable via gameplay.
Not to mention the rate they're being released and the price. $20 for a goddamn armor set... in a singleplayer game? TF is going on here, Ubisoft? And dont even get me started on the Activison-like tactic of adding hated features a month after release (xp/silver boosters).
I gave this game a lot of praise at launch despite the bugs, but that's quickly faded due to the greed of this company.
Game has such great potential, but unfortunately Ubisoft (publisher) clearly doesnt give any fucks if their games are broken at launch. I thought Ghost Recon: Breakpoint was supposed to be a "turn around" for this company. Oh boy, was I dead wrong.
The sales may have been good, but I dont believe they understand how much they've stained the reputation of AC with this disastrous launch. It makes AC Unity look like a game straight out of CDPR...
@haggy51 really? Because there are dozens, if not hundreds of bugs and glitches preventing players from either A) 100%ing the game (I'm experiencing 3 atm) B) preventing players from even finishing the game (I'm experiencing one in Jotunheim)
Just because you dont experience these things, doesnt mean they dont exist. Take a look at the Player Support section of the forums, or any other social media site. HUNDREDS of people complaining about bugs preventing progress. I dont remember Unity ever being in such a horrible state.
The sad thing is, I think Valhalla can be a truly great game. Unfortunately, Ubisoft Publishing doesnt give two shits about how their games launch, even if it's clear they need many, many more months of polishing. When it's all said and done, the bugs are (hopefully) all ironed out, and all the content is out... this game will always be remembered as the one with great potential but ruined by a horrendous launch and corporate greed. They dont care now, but when they see the underperformance of the next title, just like Syndicate after Unity, they'll be forced back to the drawing board.
For me personally, this was the first Ubisoft title I played at launch since Unity. And after the disastrous first month of Valhalla, it's going to be the last. I'm done trusting this incompetent and greedy publishing company to deliver functional games on launch day.
1) Enemy Captain in East Anglia drops a nickel ingot. I've killed him about seven times now, acquired the ingot and titanium EACH time, but it doesnt register as wealth collected.
2) Enemy Captain in Vinland drops an ingot (cant remember if carbon or nickel). Only difference from #1, is that this enemy DOES NOT respawn. The marker is pointed to his dead body but I cannot loot him. I've tried save and quitting over and over again but he just will not respawn nor be lootable.
These two are preventing me from getting 100% territory completion.
Hopefully they fix this. The idea of doing a second playthrough in which I need to do redo ALL mysteries, wealth, and artifacts does not sound appealing at all.
