As of the Nov 16 update for Far Cry 6, the game will CTD when attempting to either Fast Travel or play Special Operations. The issue also occurs when respawing, making every death a CTD.
I have verified the files, closed and restarted Ubisoft Connect. Nothing helps.
@johnrr6 It does make me wonder why Ubisoft's support division hasn't implemented a simple intranet document listing known issues that are currently being investigated by actual tech support and instructed the "low level Joes" to consult the list first and respond to claim tickets with a standard acknowledgement instead of running people through the pointless user-end hassle that waists both our time and theirs, as well as generating customer dissatisfaction.
Something simple like: "The issue is known and being investigated. We apologize, and we thank you for your patience as we work to correct the problem."
@ubi-gizmo Check out the posts just above this one. I think Scotterius may be onto something. Please pass this along to your team.
@scotterius That's interesting. I purchased the King & Country bundle shortly after buying the game. My roommate has bought nothing from the store. Since the Vaas update, I have experienced the crashes related to this thread. My roommate's game works fine.
Moreover, the purchased vehicles clearly behave differently than other purchased content. Going offline removes access to the vehicle (but not to weapons, clothing, etc). Every time you go back online after playing in offline mode, the game gives a message informing you that you have just gained the purchased vehicle.
@icheshy Same problem. The game worked fine until today. I was able to play yesterday after the update as well as this morning. Now, it crashes when starting up, usually at the epilepsy warning screen.
I have been able to get it to work by disabling the overlay. But not only does that kill coop and challenges, but for some reason I can no longer use the "esc" key to fast forward past all the opening splashes such as the warning. And I don't get the beautiful opening sequence.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game as well as ubisoft connect. No change.
@zodiacsun We got an official response on page 4 (corresponding with the merging of multiple threads on the same topic) stating that the devs are aware and theoretically working on the problem.
The first issue I posted about (the Cantina bug) was eventually fixed, but it took nearly a month for the fix to appear. So I'm hoping we get Special Operations and Fast Travel again before Christmas. I am not expecting them to fix it in time for people to get the Insurgency or the Weekly Challenge.
The level of response from the support staff on these forums has been underwhelming, but at least not entirely non-existent. The interactions that people (myself included) have had with claims has been aggressively unsatisfactory. They are not handling this well. But at least there are signs of... I won't say "hope" so much as "non-despair".
Mind you, I spent over a year with a game whose issues -- both in bugs and in support response -- were almost unbelievably worse than this.
The meal buff continuously resets to the coyote-based meal which increases gadget carrying capacity. When I apply a different meal, the buff changes upon fast travel or re-entering the game.
This issue is not unique to me, as reddit threads have posters expressing the same issue:
https://www.reddit.com/r/farcry/comments/q5oph7/cantina_bug/
https://www.reddit.com/r/farcry/comments/q5txre/meal_buffs_not_wearing_off/
Additionally, the timer seems to be resetting.
@agiletalent I've discovered that the problem disappears if I play in offline mode. When offline, I cannot play Special Operations, but fast travel and other spawning works just fine. That heavily suggests to me that the issue is being caused by some aspect of the online element.
@kranky_mute I have the same issue. It occurs whenever the game attempts to spawn the character at a new location. Fast Travel, respawning after dying, and even attempting a Special Operations mission all result in a CTD with none of the usual crash reports.
@jason4078 I tried Ubisoft's recommendations to "help them help me" right up to the point they wanted me to downgrade my computer's functionality. At that point, I'd had it with their efforts to find something other than their game to blame instead of trying to fix the problems their update created.
I'm sure they're going to put the blame on me for not jumping through all their hoops and write off the issue as being caused by whatever was next on their list of hopeful scapegoats.
Fortunately for me, I have discovered that playing in offline mode clears the problem. Which makes it clear that the problem is in some aspect of the game's online element. This does lock me out of Special Operations, but other than that, the only downside is that I cannot use the store. Unfortunate for them since this means their issue is literally costing them money. Likewise, I don't have the DLC, and since I suspect that the DLC won't work in offline mode, I won't buy the season pass until this is fixed.

@ubi-thrupney The purchases I made just after release all work correctly and do not contribute to the problem. However, I have not made any purchases since this problem started. As I did not intend to buy more until this issue is fixed, it is only after the above reports that I visited the store again... and discovered that I am unable to make purchases at all. Visiting certain parts of the store from within the game causes the game to crash, specifically the "Add-Ons" and the "Far Cry Credits" page -- I get the "Attention!: Snowshoe-E67374E8" error. Thus I can browse what is for sale but I cannot buy credits to buy anything.
To clarify: those store tabs bring up the Snowshoe error pop-up window which doesn't let you do anything until you click "okay". Upon clicking "okay", the game crashes to desktop.

@kryptos2007 Dude, chill a little. We're all frustrated by this. But Ubisoft posted here again just yesterday, assuring us know they are working on it. And there is a work-around. Granted, it doesn't allow us everything we should be able to access, and it isn't helpful to people only interested in co-op. But it isn't nothing. And Ubisoft is informing people about the work-around despite its potential (if probably negligible) impact on their profits.
@ubi-gizmo Thank you for the update. It is good to hear from Ubisoft on this matter
As for the "Ingenious" challenge, it did not update when returning to online mode. I took your advice and have submitted a case, including screenshots of Ubisoft Connect showing the challenge sitting at 10/11 alongside the completed "Supremacy" Yaran Story (which is the in-game quest to do exactly the same thing) as well as my inventory with 11 Resolver weapons.
Playing offline seems to have bad effects on challenges. I have completed the core challenge of getting all the resolver weapons, but since I got two of them while in offline mode, ubisoft connect won't acknowledge I have them.
@jason4078 I would like to see them do the same for the weekly Special Ops challenge rewards.

@kranky_mute Huh. I can't confirm that as the game won't even start if I have the overlay active. Something that has been an issue since one of the previous updates several weeks ago.
