@ubi-peach My apologies but I can't do that, because I'm pretty sure, I figured out what the problem was. In the settings, there is the option to turn off the prompt where the use key appears, right? For other things too? Like, press 'E' to do Z. I think I may have turned that off, so the use key wouldn't be there. And I also think you need to hold it for a few seconds (or at least faster then just hitting and releasing) Combine those two things and you have my problem.
In other words, in someone else has this problem, they need to verify their settings and make sure that the prompt shows up and then make sure to hold it for at least a few seconds. But even so, perhaps it could be patched, so it activates automatically after the locks are destroyed, instead of holding the use key to do it?
Thanks for the reply.
There is an older post similar to this, that I already replied to, but several days later and there's still no response, so I figure that making a new topic is okay. The problem is simple. I've finished the boss fight and after climbing over the wall, either by using the ladder or climbing the wall itself, you're supposed to open the gates by destroying two locks. I've done that, but nothing else happens. There is no popup or no prompt for the quest to continue. I already tried loading an older save, the one where you invade the village, prior to activating a cruel destiny.
I'm really reluctant to start from an even older save, or heck, to start over from scratch! Because it takes a few hours to get there and I'd be [censored] if the same thing were to happen. One solution is to look for a savegame after this point, and maybe this is just semantics, but I want this to be MY game, not someone else's.
I have no idea what the problem could possibly be, and I want this resolved!
@ubi-borealis I'm having the same problem. No matter what I do, there is no prompt to unlock the first gate. What am I supposed to do now? I've already loaded an earlier save, I tried defaulting options and a few other things with no results. I don't want to find a save from someone else either, because that wouldn't be 'my' save.
I'm playing on pc and not console.
Edit2: I've tried several more things. I've loaded an even older save, the one where you raze the first village in Norway prior to a cruel destiny. No matter what I do, changing difficulties, or whatever, none of it works. How can a game breaking bug like this even exist!??
@drgibbsongreen I would create a ticket or get it refunded man! It's been five days and it's still not in your library!? Talk about quality service...
@slendeetv I wish I could buy two copies of the same game, just because I'm impatient...
edit:
I'm not saying that it is acceptable for the game to NOT appear in our library, not at all, by the way, that's not what I meant, but still, buy two copies of the same game, on pc, on two different launchers is kind of throwing your money away...
@ileb0i It isn't acceptable at all! I'm wondering why I bother supporting Ubisoft. I have spend my money on their products for everything, and now I'm wondering what they have been spending their money on. It definetly wasn't an upgrade for their brains or common sense.
I don't think that rebooting the launcher will do anything. It's not a problem on the client's side, but firmly on the side of ubisoft. But I honestly don't understand how this can even happen!? It's not like ubisoft is a small developer! they got studio's world wide for crying out loud! they got several highly popular IP's that are selling like hot cakes! How could this happen? What could possibly excuse a fully automated system?? It's not like a ubisoft employee has to approve every single purchase or enable the buyer to see it in their library, that would be insane!
