@ubi-raziel While I do appreciate you coming in and responding to us, unfortunately, it is just not good enough. I understand that the Ubisoft folks who are posting in these forums have no control over timelines on fixes and such, so please relay this to the dev team. That posting we are looking into the issue still after a month of not being able to play a game we paid for is not acceptable by any stretch of the word. What we are looking for and will continue to ask for is a timeline on the fix for this issue...period! Nothing short of that is acceptable anymore. I really do hate to sound like a jerk here but we really don't know what else to say! As of now, we can look at games like Cyberpunk which sony has taken down and offered refunds. I would suggest your team look at doing the same if you cant get these fixes out in a more timely manner to paying customers who expected a product, that while there will be some bugs, should still be completable! At least the main storyline for goodness sake!

@UbiExcellent @UbiWan @UbiKobold
Patience is really running low right now!!! It has been over a month since this was reported and still nothing. The issue for most of us is we already looted the quest item and now it is not being seen in our inventory, so tell the devs to just add a check-in for that item in your inventory!!! Now I am sure there is more to it than all that, but come on a month and no fix for an issue that is a full stop cant complete your game bug!! We now have fixes for small issues like my legendary animals not showing up in my longhouse, which is great except for the fact that I no longer play the game since I can't complete the game!!
I know the 3 Ubisoft folks I tagged on this post are the ones stuck in the middle, so please give a message to the dev team that while we appreciate the work they put into the game going a month without being able to do anything in the game we paid for is not acceptable and this issue and any other game-breaking quest issue needs to be put in front of everything else on the priority list! This means if there is a dev person working on something that is not a main story cant proceed in the game type issue, then that dev person should be pulled off of that and put on these main quest game-breaking issues!!!
Now as I step off my soapbox, understand most of us love these games which is why we are so angry right now that we cant proceed. We just want to play the game series we love!! My hope, as I am sure it is all of ours, is that this issue can finally be resolved and a fix put out not in a month when the next patch comes out but right away so we can just play and complete the game we paid for!

@Ubi-Woofer Just adding more Ubisoft folks for visibility. Please understand that most of us are trying to be nice over this issue, but the patience is wearing thin. We have had no response except for on the 18th with a suggestion and this issue does not appear in the "mega-thread" page of issues. This makes us feel like no one is looking into this issue. The issue reported in this thread, you would think, would be considered a major problem. Not only does it keep you from progressing in a main story quest, but it has ramifications on your settlement due to the reward you get for completing the pledge. Also there is a house we cant seem to build in the settlement that has a certain characters name on it that seems to be from this story arc. That seems to be 3 issues that is stemming from this one quest issue being reported. Now while I think fixing some things like some world quests not working right, or fixing the "force open" stuff in raids is important...not even giving us a word on this issue when it is so game breaking is not expectable by any means. I for one am over 110 hours in and 357 points into the game so am not wanting to just start over... please for the love of everything sacred under Gods green earth reply to this thread and let folks know you see this issue and are not just ignoring those who are running into a wall playing this game!! Thank you Kindly, Kurfang
@ubikobold For me this occurred on the XBox One and below is what I think happened.
So prior to taking the quest line for this area, I went exploring and found myself in Bolingbroe Castle to get myself some loots. It was during this time that I happened to pick up the family brooch. so I was not on the quest. Some time later I decided to pledge to this area and started the quest line. After I went back to the castle for the questline and said I would find something for the son is when the fun stopped. So even though I have the brooch (assuming this is the quest item since it is under my quest items), I think the fact that I picked it up prior to the quest caused the quest to not see I had it in my inventory. Now I know there are other quests that if you get the quest item before being on the quest, it will see you have it and mark the quest as completed, so not sure why this one is not. As I am 80+ hours into the game I am not going to just start over so will just go pledge to another area till this is fixed. If you need any other info from me let me know.

Ok, Just adding some more folks. I saw today that the mega threads was once again updated and again I see no mention of the issue reported in this thread. There has also been no response to this thread while I see responses in other threads that have been made for other reported issues. Please take a look at my previous post where I mention how this issue is blocking not only us being able to complete the main story line, but also the Hidden ones stuff, and the settlement stuff including reaching level 6. We truly are trying to be patient, but the lack of response from anyone is now at the point of ridiculousness! I am sure this is not on purpose and I know you are busy, but you really need to respond to this thread with something so those who are having this issue, including myself, have some hope that you will actually fix the issue at some point.
Thank you
Kurfang
@lypitiern300 Looks like the issue you are having is a known issue that is to be fixed in an update. Which gives those of us stuck on this quest something to look forward too

@UbiExcellent First, a big thank you for replying!! Below are my replies to your questions.
Did you crash before this issue took place? Nope
What platform are you playing on when this happens? Xbox One
If possible, please attach a video link showing the missing quest objective in-game. Not sure I can on the XBox One, but will look into it.
I will say that I looted the brooch prior to having the quest, and now I can read the letter from the father but I there is nothing to loot. This is after I say I should find something to take back to the boy.
