Reading all this — 1) I bloody regret my purchase 2) I actually can’t be bothered to play the game now. Because I know this kind of crap really pisses me off…
It ruins stealth runs. Kills immersion…. And people like me — I know this will ruin the game for me.
And I’ve encountered crap like this before in a few open world games.
I’m not sure it’s something you can fix. It’s the way the engine loads and resets assets, when the players moves their cone of vision…
I would not hold your breath on this crap being fixed…
I wish I had held off. In fact I’m gonna investigate getting a refund, I haven’t even played it yet…
Sorry Ubisoft — I’m not paying £60 for frustration.
It’s just confusing — old forum was not broken... so why... fix it?
I have to say I’ve always felt the same, with this series. I’ve never liked the modern day sections.
I honestly don’t know why people like the modern day animus sections.....
As soon as the game gets to those bits — I’m like right, how do I get this crap over with as quickly as possible and get back to the good stuff....
It’s boring.
@crewchief00206
I personally HATE ALL ANIMUS BS....
I mean I know it’s enshrined in the lore of the game and everything, but I honestly feel that the game and the series as a whole would lose nothing just being about assassins throughout history.
I mean if they were to totally rip out all the animus stuff I think the game will lose absolutely nothing, and actually might be better for it.…
It’s always been my least favourite part of the game and I’m always trying to get that part over with as quickly as possible
Just saying.
I mean on paper it should be the best one. I definitely like the inclusion of social stealth.
But I have to say, Stealth is the worst aspect of this game.
There is very few stealth items or features that can be used to distract enemies or lure enemies away from their position. You have the whistle and that’s about it.
The AI is just rotten. They seem dumber than the previous two games, they get stuck on the scenery, and clearly struggle to keep track of the player when they’re alerted etc.
There was one enemy outpost With what seemed to be a higher rank enemy had on him some kind of wealth item. He would walk round in the middle of the outpost where there was civilians and other enemies middling about. It was quite clear from the layout that they wanted you to figure out a social stealth way of blending in at certain points, a bench, a table etc, before striking.
But as I was observing this situation, it honestly felt like the old Assassins Creed games, but not in a good way, the whole concept just felt dated, and it played out in a clunky way.
Stealth as a whole — theres just countless little niggles that really undermine the experience when you’re playing stealthily.
And I have to say, I never had this feeling when playing Odyssey. Odyssey’s stealth and AI felt at the very least functional, whilst not being anything particularly impressive.
Assassins Creed is about stealth right? So why is AI not seen as a priority??
It got me thinking — how sad is it that my only hope these days for games that includes stealth, is that the AI doesn’t completely suck!!
It’s like my expectations are SO low, that I never hope that the AI is actually good!
I honestly want this to change with this new generation.
Because I don’t understand how games 20 years ago had better AI than a lot of games today?
I mean I’m not unreasonable, I do understand that with these large open worlds comes a whole myriad of challenges with regards to pathfinding etc and coding AI.
But even still, I do hope we start to get better AI in games…
Do you know they really should include an option for this.
I loved it in the old FARCRY games, having to skin animals and have the animation for that. I found it really immersive...
personally I would like to see at least the option to include this animation back in the new FARCRY games.
But I thought it would be nice to include it in this game and future AC games.
I would like to see this series lean more into the kind of immersive detail is found in games like Red Dead Redemption 2.
Haven’t played this game in awhile and wow, it seems even more buggy than when I last played it. Playing on PlayStation pro.
There is no doubt that this game, watchdogs Legion, they released primarily due to their financial year ending or something to that nature, because these games are so clearly unfinished. I’m in assassins Creed Valhalla is probably the buggy is game in the franchise since unity
So far....
The combat feels slightly clunky. And also unresponsive at times I have to really hammer the heavy attack (right trigger) to get it to work. Often having to start with a light attack to get it to work.
also Ubisoft — you really need to tone down the rag doll physics. My killing blow is sending guys flying! It doesn’t look or feel weighty. Like enemies weigh nothing.
Im still trying to get used to these damn awkward controls — wish I could revert back to Odyssey controls.
But if you change things around a lot of changes then seem to conflict with other actions ! So I gave up!
Im playing on hard. I like how Enemies are not damage sponges. But seems a tad easy.
@igrvks
this is terrible. Kills immersion for me.
Hopefully I will get my refund.
I’m gonna wait and see if they fix this stuff.
plus I want a more hardcore difficulty…
@tinsworth
I got my refund. Which is great.. I’ve been on this ride before with other games… and there’s no way I’m dropping £60 to be super frustrated and go through what the rest of these people posting are going through at the moment.
I mean something like that, Respawning enemies just ruins the game. And I can tell you it will be a good few weeks even months before this is fixed. I’m not paying £60 to have weeks, months spent complaining about this issue! I’ve got better things to do.
Also, think about this, people have spent £60, and a lot of posters on this forum already made up their mind to stop playing the game until this issue is fixed.
And that’s IF it gets fixed….
I’m sorry but that’s just a total waste of money. I’m gonna spend £60 on a game, then it should work without significant issues.
1) Is this crappy respawning enemies. I have to say that kind of thing totally ruins open world games for me. It just continually ruins the immersion, if enemies just keep re-spawning in unrealistically.
2) there is no difficulty options, to customise the way you want the game. I would like a hard-core mode where you can turn off health regeneration, make ammo and resources limited within the world. Make enemies do more damage. Etc
Neither of these two things been addressed, nor is there any plans to add them as far as I know.
Therefore my cash stays in my wallet. I think I’ll go back to FARCRY PRIMAL and FC 4 actually.
@jhemp12
Thank you…
I have sat on this game, waiting to see if this very issue would get fixed and address. I was lucky enough to get a refund. I never even played a game. But this issue kept getting reported on the forums.
Yeah as I’ve said before, I think Legion is one of Ubisoft‘s best games in recent years.
Oddly enough I would say that I disagree with perhaps some of the critique of the game, that the players anyone mechanic left the game feeling unfocused.
I feel the players only one mechanic was the best thing about this game, sure it could’ve been flushed out further with I think more varied abilities for the every day Joe Bloggs that you meet on the street. I still think strippers and prostitutes should’ve had a special ability to seduce or distract enemies. I would’ve been good.
but add-on the Perma death feature is one of the first games in a long time where I genuinely care about my team, my squad. Because I have personally gone into the world and meticulously handpicked recruits that I feel are the cream of the crop. I am still really enjoying this game and I still haven’t completed it.
I really hope that you Ubisoft developers will not chuck the baby out with the bathwater on this one. I feel this mechanic especially with the Perma death has so much potential.
This mechanic would have potential in a number of others game types.
my friend suggested a workable scenario…
Dalton Wolf should’ve been the main protagonist in Legions instead of random citizens. It should’ve been a spy agency and you recruit other spies with a particular set off skills to help you on missions.
Example
A spy that’s a sniper expert, one that’s good at planning the mission and exit strategies, a drivers/pilot, a hacker, and a female that’s good at the art of seduction. You all work together on missions as a team. If one dies, that’s it. You would have to recruit another, to take his or her place. If they all die, game over.

I get my refund! Whoop… I have saved myself months of frustration, waiting for this game to be fixed.
Ubisoft — I’m keeping at eye… if you bring out a hardcore mode, an option to disable health regen and fix the enemy respawning! I will gladly buy the game again…
I want a more hardcore experience, that will breath purpose into all of the games systems!
Until them — I will wait and watch.
Having recently played FC4, 5 and ND.
Im really wanting the option of turning health regen off — as it makes such a difference in FC4.
Would be great to had a HARDCORE MODE be added, but be a suite of OPTIONS for the player.
But agree with other posters. The priority is to fix the re-spawning enemies.
And having played FC5 And ND only yesterday, enemies respawning is NOT a problem at all in those games. Stealth is fine and you can clear an area easily.
@flanker1six
so, I’ve just had a quick play through of the previous far cry games.
FC5, FC new Dawn, FC4…..
And they’re all reasonably solid games. They’re fun.
I certainly enjoy the guns/fangs for hire in FC5 and ND. It just adds tactical variety that I appreciate.
But FC4, where this game outshines all of the latter entries, is that the games options and upgrade system allow you to mitigate making the player OP.
in that game, I have only two health bars, I have not upgraded further beyond this. I have not upgraded manual health.
And combat is deadly.
I’m hiding behind a pillar, with my health low, enemies coming in, and the tension is palpable.
Primarily because my health is not regenerating.
I intend to put some more time into FC4, as it’s still a solid game.
As of now I think FC6, improves in a few areas, particularly it seems gunplay, which is something that looks improved, better impact, weight.
From FC3 onwards the gunplay never particularly felt weighty, when you shoot somebody they don’t really react there’s no sense of impact. FC 3-4 had canned death animations, and FC5 and ND, had atleast rag doll physics but the sense of impact and weight was still profoundly lacking.
Nevertheless, having played all of the far cry games this morning, it struck me that they’re interchangeable. All incredibly similar. And unfortunately the latter games don’t feel as good.
But I really think getting back to a more challenging, deadly, and tense experience is what this series needs.
Ghost Recon: Wildlands has been one of my favourite games of the last 10yrs.
The more I see of FARCRY6 in walkthroughs, the more I think to myself — what does this game offer that Wildlands doesn’t…?
Similar settings certainly ….
I think a lot of Ubisoft games share so many gameplay mechanics and concepts, that over time it becomes more and more difficult to distinguish what actually sets them apart and makes them unique.
The things that were pulling me towards this particular FARCRY, we’re in fact similar qualities that I found in Wildlands.
Apart from the pets and riding on horses — I started to question what exactly this game offered that I had not played before, and perhaps better elsewhere….
I think more of the same was fine for some years, owing largely I think to some pretty solid gameplay loops that promote player agency in a sandbox world. Ubisoft deserve credit for that.
A lot of their games share those qualities, and is a reason why I like a lot of their games.
However — I think for this generation Ubisoft need to totally reboot a lot of their franchises.
Its time I think.
This is my whole point about a game having challenge. Because it gives the multiple features, special gear, and other systems and the tactics that the devs have spent time designing……….. PURPOSE !
If a game is too easy — you don’t have to bother using half of the mechanics the devs have worked hard to create.
This was the situation with FC5. It’s why I got bored of it and never finished it.
It simply Boggles the mind….?? I only assume delaying harder difficulties is a strategic decision to sustain interest in the game for longer?
I really hope I get my refund. And I will happily wait to see if they make essential changes. Because I’ve be on this train before (Breakpoint!) and it’s nothing but paying £60 for a bunch of frustration!
No thanks…
My hope is they are able to address these issues — that the respawning is fixed. And we get a new HARDCORE mode.
As I said,
In fact would be good to have a suite of options you can turn off and on….
Because — if fixed — I think FC6 looks good. Be a shame if it goes [censored] up…!
@sofajockey
Can still mean easy + tedium
Bullet sponges don’t necessarily translate into a game being harder, just more exhausting
