Is it just me that can't see their weekly challenges anymore or is it for everyone?
Excited to see what the Phantom Sight map will be. Also, nice work so far!
So I'm sure you fellow Siege players have gotten many an email from Ubi talking about your recent Siege stats. However, I'm having a recurring issue with these emails; it's inventing people I'm "friends" with and showing me their stats. The most recent player it compared me to is named "Jcscmmrp", a player I not only do not have friended, but have never had in a match, with or against me. And so I'd like to know; has anyone else had this happen?
I personally hope that they reintroduce both. I always loved getting a little tidbit of lore about countries, with their biggest national holidays getting challenges for a representative charm. Many of the charms I got through these challenges are still being run on the operators from that country (like the Berlin Wall charm on some of my GSG9 folks).
As for the Birthday skins, who didn't like getting a free skin on an operator they may have just unlocked, or even on ones they'd had for a while! Sure the skins were kinda meh, but it was still just a fun little activity to keep you going. I remember waiting excitedly for a Nøkk birthday skin, wondering if they would even do it at all considering the mystery of her lore. But she was (and is) my favorite operator, so I figured there was no harm in hoping for it anyways.
But unfortunately for me, that day never came. And while it was somewhat hard to notice at first, but sometime around late Y5S1 and early Y5S2, the skins and charms just stopped coming. Maybe it was for COVID related reasons, maybe it was due to their seemingly low-popularity, or maybe it was for another reason Ubi told us that I just missed.
The only thing I can hope for now is either learning the reason they stopped coming or seeing their return. But I would like to know how the rest of y'all feel about their absence. Were they just annoying filler cosmetics that were better off removed or were they a fun little inclusion to the game that it doesn't feel the same without?
I'm almost sure that someone online or someone at Ubisoft themself thought of this before me, but I feel as though it's important to give a solution to this. The problem at hand is that Jäger has been, is, and always will be a meta pick. His utility is helpful or outright necessary no matter who the Attackers pick, which means that, no matter how many more things Ubi nerfs about him, he'll still be picked. I think that the solution has to be a similar one to the near 100% pickrate that hardbreachers used to have. You just had to have one, or else you were throwing, until the Secondary Hard Breach Charge was introduced. It made it so that you were never forced to pick a hardbreacher and could be a little more flexible.
If we apply this to Jäger, a new secondary gadget with a similar effect to his main gadget could be added to take some of the weight off of his shoulders. Now, strength-wise, I'd limit this new mini-ADS to only one use. Otherwise, Jäger would get completely overshadowed. But with the option to take this, it means you can have that similarly newfangled flexibility that Attack got from the S.H.B.C.'s addition.
There is one glaring flaw with this though; Jäger's current state. If we were to gain this tool, Jäger's current frailty would instantly be obvious. I may not have played him back in some of his strongest years, but I remember the days of 30+1 mag pre-nerf damage 416-C, which at the time was an issue. But, with the proposed changes here, I think that these days would have to be brought back to keep Jäger's head above-water (but not 416-C ACOG).
It also would possibly limit the usage of some of the secondary gadgets that are currently seen by some as problematic, such as the Deployable Shield, which is kind of being used to fill the mini-ADS's proposed-role.
At the end of the day, this could mess up the meta a decent bit, and possibly not in a good way, but at this point, I'm not sure what else they could do outside of just outright removing him from the game.
Thank you for your time.
@lethargicsauce Nevermind, my computer wont allow me to get the emulators anyways
@ubi-spacecats Correct. It took an abnormally long amount of time to get through the loading screen, (around 2-3 minutes iirc (usual is around a minute or less)) and when I got in I got the inactivity timer on my screen, which showed 5 seconds remaining at the time of my kicking.
@ubi-smash Thanks for getting back to me on this!
There are a few other very specific spots that I can't quite recall at this moment, but probably have somewhere in my screenshot library. If I do end up finding those screenshots, I'll post them in this thread. This was the only spot I've seen so far that makes the Kiba barrier look specifically like this, as most other spots just shrink it and contain it to a weird shape (there's a box somewhere with some slight overhanging edges that contains the Kiba within the edges. However, it's bulletproof so it's a waste of a kunai).
I'll try to keep you updated on this!
(also, a side note: the reason the Kiba looks spikier in the second screenshot is because I melee'd it to see what'd happen. It ends up looking the same way for melees 1 and 2)
So I've been wanting to re-live old House and some other things we've left behind over time that I remember from when I started, and had come across some emulators that run old versions of the game. My question for y'all is this; Is it a bannable offense to download these older versions even if you've bought the base game?
I'd think the answer would be 'no', as I bought the game and would not be using the older version online to gain an advantage, rather in customs and t-hunt. But then again, companies don't always like it when you mess around with their game, whatever way it may happen.
Any thoughts y'all have? Would love to get an official answer on this too, as I don't want to get perma-banned for trying to sate my nostalgia-itches.
The title says it all. I don't know why, but it took like 2 minutes to join that ongoing TDM match and then it kicked me before I could even spawn (with 5 seconds left out of 10 on the kick timer)
IDK why this happened, but it came out this way after I threw the Kiba at the side of this table slightly below where the glass rim begins
@lethargicsauce Fixed it seems.
