@balthazar0210 I am afraid I have to side with Sofa_Jockey on this one. I also don't agree with sexism towards males but you don't sound like a person who is fighting for equality, you sound like a person who is actively searching for something to be annoyed about. This is definitely an argument that is of such little importance that I am actually surprised I bothered to waste enough of my time to write this reply.
Threads like this always go the same way. Someone posts a rant about how terrible the game is and completely exaggerates the issues with the game, other people join in and the conversation eventually changes to a bunch of people hurling insults at each other. No wonder so little of what players say ever actually gets taken into the developers consideration. If I were one of the developers and I was reading this thread, I'd have given up before getting 10 replies in.
Chill the f**k out people and learn to discuss things without slinging insults or bringing emotion into it.
Personally I think the game's setting is great. I like the story but that is personal taste so I think some people will like it, others won't. The places where I see problems are:
Very disappointing Ubisoft. I've bought all the Assassin's Creed games except for Origins. I think this will be my last one unless they bring out updates that fix all the things that they were too lazy to include upon release.
@cell1e You are right there. The amount of times I have killed an enemy and from their voice I realized that I was fighting a woman so I went back to look at the corpses. I have yet to find one that is actually female. Ubisoft were so lazy with this game.

@th3r4bb1t You may want to change your HUD settings. At the start of the game you are offered 3 options. One is very minimalist and shows you virtually nothing on the map. I chose the middle one which shows you some of the locations but keeps the map and the HUD clear of a lot of the markers. I am thinking of changing to the option which shows the most amount of information as, like you, I am struggling to find some places and some quests as they simply don't show up on the map.

I loved Assassin's Creed Odyssey. I thought it was such a great game and I was equally looking forward to Valhalla coming out. Now that I have it I have to say I am quite disappointed. Graphically it is the same quality as Odyssey which is great, yet it runs really poorly. Stuttering cut scenes, bad frame rate drops during most of the larger fights.
Then we get on to the gameplay itself. Honestly it feels like the developers took Odyssey and just replaced the Ancient Greek setting with a Viking setting but didn't add much while at the same time they actually lowered the quality of a few aspects pretty badly. The sound for a start is terrible. What is with the loud thunder clap every time you assassinate someone? Why is the sound of you walking around so deafening, even when you are in stealth mode?
In Odyssey, when you were on the ship, your crew would sing sea shanties and it actually sounded like your crew were singing. And if you changed the gender of your crew then the voices changed accordingly. In this game, the songs being played while you are on the boat do not sound at all like they are coming from someone on the boat with an instrument. Honestly it sounds like one of the vikings brought an MP3 player and a speaker with them and are playing a song recorded in a recording studio.
Don't get me wrong, I like the setting. The artwork in the game is fantastic. I hate to complain but I am sorry to say it really feels like Ubisoft got lazy making this game and cut a lot of corners.
Oh, and just a sideline complaint, WHY oh why did you feel the need to put some characters in the game with American accents. I know they are only very background characters with only a few lines of dialogue but seriously, come on!! America hadn't even been discovered at the time of this game's settings. It just brings the integrity of the game down.
That is me done. Rant over!!
So is this a bug or is half the area of Hordafylke supposed to be inaccessible? I decided to go for all the mysteries, artifacts and wealth items before the story heads off to England as I wasn't sure if it would be possible to return later. The problem is that there is the strange Animus wall crossing the middle of the map and I desynchronize if I cross it which means that a bunch of the collectibles are impossible to get as they are hundreds of metres behind it.
Anyone? Is this supposed to be like this or is it bugged?
