If I had a dollar for every time I have seen a message threatening a class action lawsuit on a gaming forum then I could comfortably retire.
Add another PS5 user to those who get this error. I love the game but after waiting 6 months for you to fix the Lost Glory bug while you continued to roll out new content and now getting this error I have lost faith in this team (or at least their testing).
Yeah, I am five or so hours in and not a fan of the Rock Paper Scissors Ammo and Armor method.
I died once and it said I should maybe wear armor to reduce Soft Target ammo. Okay great, but you threw a dozen or more enemies of multiple types, including a helicopter, at me and I am supposed to know which armor would suit me best. I met Camilla and you threw the kitchen sink at us with no time to scout. There seems to be enemies of every type. There was no time to think "What ammo type should I use".
I can only hope that as we find higher level weapons with more Damage that the importance of ammo types becomes less of a factor. Hell, I do better with an early game unique pistol without special ammo. If it had range I would use it exclusively.
Yeah, I don't understand it. Ubisoft has been getting really wonky with their decisions regarding save files.
At the very least keep the last three or so autosaves to avoid stuff like this.
A bunch of bug fixes the latest patch and here is one that was reported on these forums a few weeks after release and we are all still waiting for Halfdan to speak with us so we can finish the quest and 100% the game.
Very disappointed.
I have said it in the thread about the bug in the Lost Glory quest (also unresolved since release), this is unacceptable. They introduced River Raids and the latest patch notes list 32 bullet points worth of bug fixes for that mode. Imagine how many of the broken quests they might have been able to fix if they had delayed implementing River Raids and introducing more issues into a game where the devs already could not fix quest bugs in a timely manner.
I feel for the support staff. I worked IT Support for 25 years. They are literally the messengers, saying what they are told to say in regards to these bugs. But statements like "they aim to resolve this issue in a future update." is just vague and simply meant to appease. Future update could be next month, it could be December. Many though will always assume it means the next patch and will be disappointed.
My ire is towards whoever is deciding where the devs spend their time. Introducing new modes (River Raids) and features (transmog), which will inevitably have their own bugs, before fixing game breaking bugs in the main quest line is unacceptable.
@doner07 @doner07 You can do them after as far as I know. I have seen mention of another glitch happening to some people towards endgame but nothing that totally hardlocks you like #brewingstormbug.
You may be talking about Lost Glory. The quest that is bugged for me and has been since release.
If you see Halfdan sitting on a porch in a northern town DO NOT talk to him until you have a quest to do so. It is not nearly as bad as Brewing Storm bug but is annoying as it is the only quest left in my journal.
In that case it seems pretty clear as to what causes it (talking to halfdan before getting the quest to do so) but that fact has done nothing to get it fixed.
At this stage the Valhalla team is even being put to shame by the CDPR devs who just released a Cyberpunk patch with something like 500 fixes for bugs and glitches. Valhalla Team just keeps rolling out new content and producing more bugs in the process.
I am absolutely amazed that they're releasing ptp dlc when the main story is still broken for like 50% of players.
While this error is major and the time it has taken to get us to this point is completely unacceptable the number of players this is broken for is nowhere near 50%. My guess is that the percentage is in the low single digits. But, even if the game had only sold 1 million copies, even 1% of a million is 10,000 players. The percentage does not matter in the end. It is a bugged main quest. It should have been given priority long ago. I am not happy that they are releasing new content and then releasing patches to fix bugs in that new content while many base game quests have been bugged since release. Seriously screwed up priorities.
What is amusing is that for the Lost Glory Quest bug we have told them the exact cause of it back in Nov/Dec. It is simple to reproduce and it also has not been touched.
@bumble-bee281 My guess is that they don't have a clue or don't care. They have been telling us that it is under investigation since Dec and we are now entering April and we are getting the same response. Shoot, this is not even the worst of the bugged quests. A Brewing Storm bug is far worse.
Look at the known issues mega thread and look at how many unable to progress quest bugs that they have listed there. Almost all of them were reported within weeks of the game release. But Ubisoft, instead of fixing these are releasing the River Raids, and I believe two different festivals, and transmog. Then, they patch the game with bug fixes for these new items while ignoring the bugs in the base game.
@tobydal So far I have been able to just fast travel to the furthest fast travel locations away from Paris itself and can usually save.
@ubi-smash Thanks. I don't think it is unreasonable to expect to pay less for the Season pass and or expansions than the Gold version is currently on sale for on the PS store. I would probably be playing the game again if the season pass was not listed as $15 more than the Gold version.
This should not be so hard. The Ubisoft Store and Steam both have the season pass and DLCs on sale but the PS store does not.
@kmarkopl Not in the US. You can't use that 20% discount on Pre-orders or New Releases.
I have 999 units. I would love to use them for discounts but I can't because I am in the US.
@sco77y2010 Just as an FYI, I lost the upgrade the second time.
That is a LOT of wasted materials. .
Yeah, I don't understand it. Ubisoft has been getting really wonky with their decisions regarding save files.
At the very least keep the last three or so autosaves to avoid stuff like this.
@genossewolf You're about 2 1/2 years late. That was when they stopped supporting Steam. AC Valhalla, Ghost Recon Breakpoint, Watch Dogs Legion, Immortals: Fenyx Rising. None have been on Steam.
@sco77y2010 No, I have not checked mine recently but I also had mine revert, which I would not have cared if the game had given me back all the upgrade materials it took. I have upgraded it to tier 2 twice now.
Since we, at least on console, can't look at our saves or even save manually can you please put in the info regarding our last save when we choose to quit the game. You Know.
Are you sure you want to quit. You will lose all unsaved data.
Last Save was 3 minutes ago.
I quit earlier haver doing a treasure hunt quest. Finished it, assumed it saved on quest completion, and quit the game. When I loaded it next time I was back at the beginning of the treasure hunt quest. Most of us don't notice the little save indicator 90% of the time.
@nandiman The 20% discount code does not work for the US. It flat out says in the UbiConnect app
Promo excludes pre-orders, in-game credit packs and recent releases.
The when you click on the link for more info it says
Please note that the Program, Units, Actions and Rewards may differ based on a User’s country of residence.
@razielkanos That is not true in every region or country. In the US I see this message about the 20% discount.
So there is no bonus to buying on Ubisoft Connect at that point. I still do when I buy a PC version on Ubi Connect because I refuse to buy on Epic but I can't use that 20% discount.
