Hi, first of sorry for reposting this from another topic, but the post is far away in the discussion adn I guess most people wont read that far and I really want to hear more people opinion on this issue. So here it is:
I just killed a Zealot ... I took me like 10 freakin minutes on hard cause they are really tough, and what did I get?? Absolutelly nothing, just WHY? WHY would I waste time killing this guys if I dont get literally anything for killing them? This game is so [censored] up when it comes to rewards.
Zealots and Order - What do you actually get for killing them? Why bother? Why dont you get at leats like 2 armor set for killing all zealots and order members? Just jest get some stupid dialog yeah man thats what you want after you spend so much time killing the tough guy.
Roman Artefacts - Great oportunity to give us some Roman themed armor set, for returning the mask ... what we get instead?? Stupid statues which are absolutelly uselless .. again why??
Legendary Animals - Other totally tough and time consuming fights and what you get? Two or three weapons and thats all .. yeah at least here you get some weapons but why not some hunter themed set also ... why the hell I would rather get a stupid tattoo which I cant even see on my character for such a tough fight then a piece of armor?? Who though this was a good idea ?
Standing stones - [censored] is that ... you spend 5 minutes trying to get the stupid symbols in order and what you get ? 1 skill point ... Seriously ONE ????? ONE?? You get two for every level and there are like 300 of them so you basically level up every ten minutes ... this has absolutely no value as a reward what so ever ... why even bother doing this ??
Boss fights - this is like RPG 101 .. when you kill a boss you get a reward .. yet this is not the case in this game ... most of times you get absolutelly nothing for killing bosses ... why even bother with the fight ?? Just skip it and show me the cutscene and be done with it ...
Treasure maps - Instead of gear you get a ship design lol ... why who would rather get ship design instead of piece of gear???
Tattooes - We have dozens of tattooes designs to put on every part of our body, yet we dont have any armors with exposed chest or arms ... other absolutelly unlogical and stupid decision ...
Those are just a few examples where the game fails terribly in terms of rewarding the player for exploration and just playing the game. There is simply no motivation for doing anything in this game except for the strory. I watched a lot of gameplay vids before release and in one devs said there would be less gear then in Odyssey but more uniqe. So I thought ok, I dont have to trip over gear on every corner if there be less ger and harder to find I am ok with that. But I never thought that less gear mean almost NONE. I thought less mean like 30 armor sets nicely placed around the world as treasures and as rewards for playing the game and exploring. 10 armors of which most you just find in chests around the world is just not enough, it is a joke and a complete destruction of the game for those who likes the most basic RPG element there is.
Why would you want tattooes, hairstyles and settlement cosmetics as a reward for playing a game more then new gear? Who the hell thought this was a good idea? You cant even see your tattooes, you dont spend hours standing in your settlement looking at decorations, what you do is playing the game with your character and use and see his armor/gear. In the most importatn area where the variety and customization should be biggest there is close to none in this game.
Citation of one of the in game hints during loading screens "World of Assassins Creed Valhalla is massive and full of interesting items and opportunities. Take your time and explore the wilderness to find new locations and uniqe rewards" Ubisoft care to tell me where are all those interesting items and uniqe rewards? Because I explored a lot and failed to find any items at all ... after 25 hours of exploring I have two sets of armor and 11 weapons in my inventory ... This is a lot to you??? 10 armor sets is a lot to you??? Why are you lying to us ... exploring in this game is absolutelly pointless.
I know it is too late for Valhalla and its sad, because this game had so much potential in terms of exploration and all is wasted by poor decisions. But for the next AC please try to find some compromises, some middle ground between Odyssey and Valhalla ... yes we dont need to find new gear every five minutes .. but there must be a good variety of it, exploration must be rewarding, 10 armor sets is not even close to enough for such a massive game. I am so dissapointed because I was so hyped for this game, I coudlnt wait to explore all of the Viking era England, but now I just play the story and do very little of exploring, when there is no gear as a rewards I just dont have the motivation. I know that for a lot of people this is not an issue, but there is a reason why so many people loved Odyssey and its loot system, it is cause its rewarding and it makes you to keep playing the even after you completed the story and the side missions. And for all those you just take any enjoyment from playing the game beside the story.
I bought all Origins, Odyssey and Vallhala on day 1. With Origins and Odyssey I had a blast it with and never regretted that I bought the games for a full price. But with Valhalla I must say I regret it. For the next AC game I will definitely not buy on day 1 and I will be extra cautios to watch a lot of post launch gameplay videos to make sure there is enough variety and customization and that the exploring and playing the game is actually rewarding, because thats what I want and what I expect from an open world RPG. And I think I am not alone.
Thats is. So what do you guys think? Do you thinks this game is rewarding for playing or not? Do you like the loot/reward system or are you dissapointed with the very limited possibillities in terms of variety and customization? Do you have the motivation for doing the side activities or you just focus on the story because the exploration isnt rewarding at all? Share your opinions please.

I wont say much more that already was said. There is the same and will be more gear in the store for more money than in actuall game !!
There is almost none DLC or post launch content so far except for armor sets FOR MORE MONEY in the store. Compared to Odyssey its ridiculous!
Ubisoft was always milking their games with microtransactions, but I cant remember when I saw such a massive greed in any of their games recently. Its at the point that I think that with every new armor set in the helix store they are mocking the players. Evidently they didnt put a lot of armors and weapons into the base game on purpose so they can milk the players for all their money out of desperation, I can see players are desperate for some new weapons and armors because there ARE ALMOST [censored] NONE IN THE GAME. This is such a deceitful behaviour, I am so sad about how this game turned out.
Thoughts?
@sofajockey Game is good but the combat is wancky and graphichally it si not much of and improvement over Odyssey considering how much more demanding is it. And the draw distance is terrible like when you zoom with eagle and animals and grass suddenly pop in out of nowhere.
You know I am gonna write here just one last post.
I am really sad how Valhalla turned out, and it is because I generally love Ubisoft games. Yes I know that it is somehow controversial company, which many players dont like, I would even say many players hate. But I am not one of those people.
Yes their games being criticised for being repetitive and shallow and the story being only average etc. etc. Yes somehow it is true, Ubi games are very simillar, whenewer it is AC or Far Cry, Watch Dogs, Division or Ghost Recon and others, yes they are all adapting the simillar pattern and gameplay, yes they games tend to be repetivie and somehow only average, but there is some big plus some big upside and big selling point those game has, and that is the open world element. Their worlds are beuatiful, large, detailed, and full of possibilities, options, rewards and customization. Doesnt matter if it is a latest AC games, Ghost Recon, Division, Watch Dogs or others. their games always had this one big thing which kept you playing them and enjoy them to the fullest even though their stories and gameplay was somehow average. You know they always managed to make their games in a way that even if the story, gameplay or mechanichs wasnt something new or groundbreaking, the game was always a big fun and you can easily spend tens even hundrets hours in their games, especially their lates AC games. And it was that their games were rewarding and fun to explore.
But sadly this is not the feeling I have with Valhalla, I am woried and I think that the game was stripped of its core mechanics of the thing what makes Ubi games so great and fun, and it is the general feeling from the world, from its exploration and design. You know they alway manage to somehow make the world and its exploration meaninfull and rewarding, there was always enough weapons/armors or general loot to make the game exciting and fun even when you did the same thing 30th time over again. And that is something what Valhalla really misses. Because if you want it or not after the while even their side activities which tend to be uniqe and diverse at first becomes really repetitive and boring, but instead of other Ubi games in Valhalla you dont have that "loot factor" if I say it like that, you know that thing what keeps you excited even though you are doing basically the same thing over and over again. That was the thing what made Ubi games always so great in past few years.
In Valhalla they went with minimum almost none loot or rewards and they thought that they can drag the game heavily on the story. But it just dont work, sadly the story and generally all the side stories are just ok, they are not bad, but they are also not great enough for story being the only reward you get for exploration and playing the game. And when the game lacks the Ubi core game design which was always a plenty of items/gear/rewards for playing the game, it makes Valhalla somehow a drop out game. A game which you wont even finish or maybe only the main story just to know how it played out, but not the game what you play multiple times, or the game where you explore every corner of the map and spend hundrets of hours in it, because the world and the content outside the story is basically empty and not interesting enough to play. You just dont get that vibe that joy or drive which makes you explore and play the game even after the story is finished,
I wrote a lot of criticism about this game here, and its because I am a big fan of Ubi games, especially the AC games, which is one of my most favourite gaming series of all time. And because of that I am really sad, angry, and dissapointed how this game turned out, because it breaks all the things and misses all the things whats great about Ubi games, seriously I think it is their worst game they made in last five years maybe even more, and it pains me really much because after Origins and Odyssey I was so sure that Valhalla will be perfect that it will be THE next step you know, the greatest of the series, but I am nothing but dissapointed, and that comes from a big fan of Ubi games,I am so sorry if I was overreacting or being too critic in previous posts, but it is mostly because I am really dissapointed and angy, I sadly have to say that I was never that dissapointed with Ubisoft game ever Thats all.

I dont know why we still dont have an graphics option in nowadays games to crank up the grass draw distance if our PC can handle it. Same fo Valhalla I mean look at this: https://ibb.co/ZSChyZG: (https://ibb.co/ZSChyZG)
Its captured at PC on Ultra everything maxed out, yet the grass draw distance is as bas as was for example in Skyrim and thats a game released 9 years ago, its really embarassing in a 2020 game to have grass growing from the ground 20 meters around the player.
@mirmidonas74 Yeah they tricked us really good on this one, all the pre release gameplay videos and all the information about the game before it was released looked great. So I can understand the massive dissapoinment of many players with the final product. I am one of them.
@dbgager OMG stop defending this game in every post! Random thrash [censored]??? We dont want the gear for the stats, but for the customization for the variety, for the exploration to actually be rewarding ... you ever played an open world game before??? Good amount of different gear is like the first rule in an open world RPG ... this is not and action RPG ist open world like Witcher 3 or Skyrim etc. In Origins and Odyssey they get that and they gave us a good amount of different armors and weapons to choose from, cause thats just the first thing you make sure of when you make a OPEN WORLD RPG, that there is enough loot to keep players excited and wanting to explore and do every side activity in the game even after hundrets of hours. I mean what will you do when you finish the story here? Why to do the side activities? Just to hear some NPC dialog and thats it? Are you serious???
@klauskniffler I just loaded up Odyssey, there are close to 70! yeah 70! different armor styles in the game and thats not counting store sets and some armors which do not appear in the transmog menu untill you find them so there is even more. Compared to that Valhalla is a pathetic joke. There are historically accurate armors, there are some barbarian styled armors, some eastern (persian) styled armors, some more fantasy/kickass looking armors, there is just so much variety and customization in the game its sad when you see what Valhalla offers us in comparison.
Oh well I guess I am back at playing Odyssey until Cyberpunk comes out. Droping Valhalla for now, maybe will try it later if some serious changes come, or if not I guess I will pass to next AC (lets hope a much better one)
Ok everyone who says they have 60FPS cutscenes, proof it with some kind of video or tell me where do you uncap it? Havent found that option nowhere in the game, and I can clearly see my fps counter going from 75-80 to 30 when the cutscene starts, and its really noticable.
@sparhawk122 All Ubisoft new games feels like beta, tried to play Valhalla after few month again .. thought it would be fixed, after 20minutes of very rough beta like gameplay it crashed ... no need to say more
Uncap the FPS !!! Not only its almost unwatchable, but my head actually hurts when I am watching the cutscenes. Its terrible everytime when it drops from around 80FPS to 30, its unbereable. Not to mention that game in cutscenes doesnt look that good as in normal gameplay, as in the RTX or some ligthing effects were disabled or something. This really needs to be patched.
Cause its PC, remember Cyberpunk when there was no walk toggle and modders had to do it? I dont think that there is even a walk button when you on foot in FC6 or is it? And yeah its needed.
Why is that? Its terrible, give us a 60 FPS option please!
My Specs:
AMD Ryzen 5 3600
RTX 2080 Super 8GB
16GB RAM
Running on 1TB SSD
What the hell? Ok so I launched the game put everything on Ultra, even enabled RTX (or whatever its called in FC6) and HD textures, then I run benchmark everything looks perfect I am getting average 75 FPS so I am like cool I can play this game safely at 1080p at Ultra.
Then I start the game and after the first cutscene, when you show up on the rooftop I suddenly only have around 35-40 FPS, what the hell?? I mean ok its in the main city so FPS will be lower I get that, BUT BY ALMOST A FUCKIN HALF??? REALLY? So I am thinking maybe its the HD textures, so I disable them and no fuckin difference, maybe 1FPS, so I turn off RTX and I got extra 10 FPS so I am thinking ok so no RTX when in the city. Then I play for a bit and go to the square where you are supposed to go the sewers, and I drop to fuckin 40 again Just what the hell? So I have decided to set everything on low and then putting settings back to high/ultra one by one to see which one is tanking FPS most. And with everything on low I have like 50 FPS :DDD [censored] again? Differnce between low and ultra is only fuckin 10 FPS? What a joke.
Game is demanding af and it doesnt even look that great or better compared to FC5 or to other top looking games like Horizon Zero Dawn for example where I am getting around 90FPS easilly. Again great job Ubisoft with the optimalization lol. Game run like a total [censored] and please show me the guys playing with GTX 960 (minimum system), I wonder if they are getting anything more than 10 FPS if you cant even get a stable 60 FPS on LOW preset with a [censored] RTX 2080 oh my god.
I am not saying I have some top of the market beast PC but I say its pretty decent to run this game on high even ultra, the game is nothing special visualy tbh, yeah it look good, but it definitely doesnt justify those ridiculous requierments, so please tell me why it is running like [censored]?
So anyone else having those issues, any fixes, ideas? Is this only the main city? Or does it get better after the intro ? And Ubisoft bring out some performance/optimalization patch ASAP.
@missm16 yeah playing offline is the way but that way you wont get the daily missions.
Is there a way? I keep running into other players Jomsviking dressed in stupid out of place amors from helix store, and it really ruins my immersion. I try to stay clear of those ugly armors in my game yet I still keep seeing them on the Jomsviking standing everywhere. Just other day he was standing right next to a quest NPC and wearing some idiotic blinking shiny spear. I cant even tell what the cutscene was about and what Eivor and NPC talked about, cause all I could do was focusing on how ugly that Jomsviking was.
Would be really nice to not have them in the game altogether.
So I reinstalled the game got the Ultimate Edition with Ubi+, it worked fine for around 8HRS then It crashed once, and since then the game keeps crashing at startup. Yesterday I needed like 5-6 tries for the game to finally launch, but today it just wont lauch entirely. I tried like 20times it always crashes in main menu. Tried to verify files, run as administrator, still not working.
Everytime It launches it keeps telling me that new controller was connected which is not, I am playing only with keyboard and mouse and and have no controller connected to my PC. Maybe this is the issue, but I just dont know how to fix it and whats going on? How is this even possible almost a year after a release and this game is still so broken .... Only thing left is to reinstall the game altogether YAY, I am really looking forward to downloading that 120GB again
Ubisoft fix the game please already! Never had this issues with Origins or Odyssey, basically with any othe Ubi game, just Valhalla is so broken.
