Since i purchased this game in January I've been having frequent game crash. I tried all kinds of things from underclocking my rx580 to upgrading my graphics card to a rx 6800 as well as reinstalling OS, updating drivers, utilities and even dropping all settings to the lowest possible.
None of that was successful.
Until a few days ago where i started getting annoyed with the artifacts of TXAA. So I've started turning it off in allot of games. Warframe, genshin impact, Assetto Corsa Competitizione to name just a few games. So I decided to explore Watch Dogs Legion SMAA. Originally i disregarded this option because it disabled Ambient occlusion. There was an immediate reduction in motion blur artifacts and pixellated areas but also surprisingly no crashes. Even leaving the game running for 6 hours straight didn't bring about any issues.
Although SMAA does introduce some shimmering atleast the game is not crashing at absolutely random moments anymore.
Solution : select SMAA.instead of TXAA
Try disabling TXAA (use SMAA or FXAA)
I had t he same crashes and the only way to stop them was disabling TXAA.
