In the early parts of the game it was not really noticable but as somone mentioned above, as the save file gets bigger the stutter starts. Glad I was skeptical that this version of far cry would be different, same issue on other far cry games I have bought in the past, so I did the ubisoft connect + for 14.99. This has been an issue that Ubisoft just drags out with, "check file integrity" and "sorry you are experiencing this issue". If they were sorry they would fix the issue. I might download a cracked version, they always seem to run better anyway, but I won't be paying ubisoft for failing to correct this extremely common issue that they always act suprised to hear about. I will happily pay for Ubisoft games that run well but this is a slap in the face to the customers who have been loyal to the franchise.
Windows 10 21H1 new install with all the most uptodate and latest drivers that you could ever wish for...
OS is on Samsung 860 EVO SSD
Games on 970 EVO NVME SSD
32 gb Ram
EVGA FTW3 3080
Intel 10850k
1000 hz polling rate mouse
Gsync monitor
600 mb/s internet
Game running on high minus motion blur and without HD textures.
This is not our systems causing the issue, it's a problem with the game.
@olalaquebien Did everyone else notice Ubisoft also discretely disabled Nvidia resizable bar in the "update" they released last week--which they failed to mention in the patch notes (if you can call it that)?
I also just noticed the post had it name changed from the original title.
This is the type of act that protrays Ubisoft as a company of poor moral and ethical standards.
We paid for the product and Ubisoft is manipulating the our support request titles?
This makes it harder for everyone else to find the correct area to look for help.
Looking over the forums, there are numerous new post being made about this autosave stuttering issue which was never about "low FPS in-game" but about the original title of the post which was "1/2 second stutter".
The autosave issue become significantly more noticable and intrusive as the game progression approaches 100%.
I trialed moving my save file on a ram drive, from my NVME SSD 970 EVO, with no noticable improvement.
The game does have some mild hitching when traversing the map; hardly noticable in my case and not something that reduces playability or overall enjoyment of the game.
But this autosave stutter/hitch has been occuring since Far Cry 4 and gets my blood boiling.
I have purchased every Far Cry since Far Cry 3.
But I learned my lesson and did the $14.99 month long trial on Ubisoft Connect before purchasing Far Cry 6 to see if prior issues had been addressed; obviously they have not.
The support forums suggest that they will address the issue much in the same way it was addressed for previous Far Cry titles (it wasn't) so there is no reason to pay full retail for Far Cry 6 in my opinion.
The irony is that Ubisoft ruins their own product in an attempt to prevent it from being pirated, however, in doing so it leads to paying customers--like us--seeking out pirated versions so they can enjoy the product as our request for support are clearly not taking seriously ie.. Far Cry 4, Far Cry 5, Far Cry New Dawn...
Well done Ubisoft.
I plan to get the pirated version as soon as it is cracked, and it will be cracked.
Sadly, that is the only way to enjoy playing Ubisoft games.
I will not be purchasing another product from Ubisoft until there is a paradigm shift toward product quality instead of profit margin.
On a side note, disabling resizable bar did reduce my vram usage a bit but also reduced my FPS about 4 - 5 fps.
@xbl_laberbacke Go pick up the stone. Read the tutorial that pops up, it tells you what to do. When you destroy the last stone there will be a little grey block there. Pick it up!
This looks pretty rough. It's not everywhere but I did not see textures look this poor on the main game or DLC.
This was supposedly marked as "resolved" but mutliple post still indicate it persist. I am also experiencing the same. Reinstalled Ubisoft and AC Valhalla. No change, still no background music unless looking at map or main menu.
They took 19 pages of people complaining about this can renamed it without bringing over any of the trouble shooting information that others have already gone through.
Ubisoft has no intention on fixing this or they are unable to [Removed on 29/11/2021 by @Ubi-Borealis]
This is an ongoing issue since Far Cry 4, Far Cry 5 and New Dawn... Didn't Ubisoft have enough people post their system specs and videos back then and still never fixed it.
These forums are designed to placate customers and nothing more.
[Removed on 29/11/2021 by @Ubi-Borealis]
Ubisoft insults their customers by asking for system information when they know the issue is not on the users end.
Even Microsoft has all but said that this DRM nonsense is causing issues with WIndows 11 and they are having to work with companies to develop work-arounds for this.
Denuvo, VMProtect and possibly Ubisoft Connect (although who knows because can't play a game on there without some form of DRM) are the cause of the issue, not the end users system.
Take a clue from Capcom with Resident Evil and remove this nonsense [Removed on 29/11/2021 by @Ubi-Borealis]
@thenorfolkian I agree. This is why I don't buy games from Ubisoft anymore. They are greedy as evidenced by game breaking Denuvo DRM issues, they don't fix ongoing problems (Item duplication is still an issue--I have 8 bone syckles right now), and they release new games with the same problems the old games had which was never resolved. I have downloaded this game with a "third-party patch" and it runs much better but is not kept updated. At most, I will occasionally do the ubisoft + connect for a month to see if anything has been fixed and only to find the same or more bugs and question why I would expect Ubisoft to employee consumer orientated product improvement.
Charging for this add-on is another slap in the face to the consumer and pushes us further away from wanting to spend our money to support a company which demonstrates a consumate degree of corporate greed. Ubisoft better keep using Denuvo because at this point I don't see anyone wanting to spend money to actually support the company. After being a loyal customer my last purchase was for FarCry New Dawn I have no intentin to buy another product from Ubisoft but I can assure you my collection of Ubisoft games will continue to grow and run better and that is not because the "third-parties" are putting out patches for the games.
@nodzeth I think it has to do with the fallen hero set. I have the same problem. The work around for me is to go to the blacksmith and downgrade all the armor to lowest level. That will give you the runes back. I then removed each piece one at a time and saved. I was able to remove the entire set this way. I have not had any trouble with any other armor sets.
I also am experiencing the same issue. There is no background music and little to no ambient sound. No fight music during fights either.
@nodzeth Sorry man, was hoping this would help others. Guess I just got lucky.
I have Ubisoft setup as English along with the game langauges I install. I always find files for other languages installed anyway for the AC games and the Rainbow six--I have not looked at any other games yet. Today I reinstalled AC Odysset and once again deleted all these extra language files files, of note the game runs fine without these files. I found 9.44 GB of excess files for languages that I did not install for AC Odyssey alone.
If thise has been brought up before than I apologize but can the developers to stop these files from installing please. These files add up and waste a lot of space.
Please see the screenshot of the amount of space taken up by these unnecessary language files.

I am convinced this has to do with the fallen hero armor set. This is a common denominator with everyone. Go to the blacksmith and downgrade the armor and then you will be able to remove it with no crash.

@ubi-mark I am playing it on the PC. I wonder if it has to do with a corruption in the save file. I would like you to try my save if possible as I have tried this on two computers now and it would take seconds to see that this issue occurs regardless where I am on the map. If I start a new game, it seems to resolve the issue for a while.
@ubi-borealis Thank you for reopening this!

@ubi-mark Others are still experiencing this but it has been marked as "solved" when clearly it is not.
I have tried this on two seperate PCs so this is not a hardware issue.
Additonally, I have reinstalled Ubisoft and AC Valhalla so I have gone beyond the "verifing file integrity" point.
I also started a brand new game and the bug developed again after some hours of play.
This has been ongoing since, at least, 2020 (according to the forums) with the answer continuously being a, "they were unable to reproduce" this issue and to "verify your installation integrity".
Give me an email and contact number to someone who is in charge there. You can email it to me at the email you have on file or have them contact the number on my account.
This is the 'resolved' thread where people are still currently posting that they are still experiencing this issue:

Here is a video of the bug from about 1 year ago:

@lemmie88 It has never been fixed in my experience. I just delete them because they annoy me. Then its just a black video where the animation would be.
