I am unable to access the Trial Week demo on my Xbox Series X. After pressing A on the title screen, the game attempts to connect to the servers but eventually just reports a connection error with the warning "OFF-PISTE 1". I had exactly the same issue trying to access the Open Beta recently. What is odd is that I can access the game fine on my PS5, just not on my XBSX.
I have checked my NAT, which is set to OPEN, and also tried unlinking and relinking both my PSN and Xbox accounts to Ubisoft. Is anyone else experiencing the same issue, or has found a workaround?
Hi,
I have an issue with the "Ultimate Refinement" achievement not unlocking on Xbox Series X. I have finished the game, and have enhanced all gear and my main and offhand weapons to gold tier, with all upgrades purchased. However this achievement remains locked. It's the last one I have to earn. I have tried going back to an older save and upgrading different weapons and gear, to no avail. Can I expect a retroactive fix for this issue in the future?
Kind regards,
Martin.
Hi, I was wondering if you'll be able to start again from scratch when the full game releases? I managed to play a little of the Trial Week (on PS5 only, as I get the connection error on Xbox Series X), but would like to reset my progress on launch and begin fresh. Will that be possible - I couldn't find an option to do so in the Trial?
@casxbox360 Yeah, I have it pre-ordered currently, but if I can't get this resolved then I'll have to cancel too. Would much prefer to play on Xbox than PS5, due to the higher res and Dolby Vision support. I tried the Open Beta on PS5 and it didn't look great visually.
But yeah, odd that so many people seem to be having this issue, and there's no info online anywhere on how to fix!
I received the following response from my Ubi support request:
Thank you for contacting Ubisoft Support.
We have some troubleshooting steps we would like to suggest -
- Try fully quitting (Options > Quit) and restarting your game.
- Ensure your console is set as your primary console.
- Ensure your console account is linked to your Ubisoft account.
- Try our connectivity troubleshooting: https://www.ubisoft.com/help?article=000063668
I've tried all of the above, and been through the connectivity troubleshooting guide, to no avail. I am in the UK, using BT as my ISP. However, the fact that the Trial loads on my PS5 but not on my Xbox indicates to me that it's nothing to do with my ISP. My assumption is that this is some kind of account issue, which may need to be investigated on Ubi's side. Unlinking and relinking my accounts on my end hasn't made any difference. I've cancelled my pre-order today, as I don't want to risk running into this issue on launch day, after having it with the Open Beta and now the Trial Week.
I'll keep an eye on this thread in case a solution is posted, but I have little confidence given we reported the same issue back in August and there's been no movement since then.
I've submitted a support request, so we'll see what Ubi comes back with.
It's such an odd issue. I just managed to get in on Xbox Series X by using the method mentioned a few pages back - basically signing in as a guest profile. It doesn't work every time, and sometimes you just get booted after a few mins play with the "grooming" error. However, one time it put me back to the title screen then signed me in as my main profile and I was able to play for 20+ mins (had to turn it off as I was on a lunch break). I then ran up the Trial on my PS5 - which has always connected without issue - and it had saved my progress from the Xbox version. So there is definitely something funky going on with the accounts/profiles on Xbox, and there's no issue with the connection on my end.
Really torn as to what to do now. I thought the Xbox version looked sharper and the Dolby Vision support helped the colours pop more, so I'd much rather play it on Xbox. So do I take a gamble on the Xbox version and hope I don't run into these issues at launch; just buy it on PS5 with the confidence I'll be able to play on day 1; or hold off completely until we know that the Xbox issue has been fixed? Tough call!
@slyder768 Yes, I feel the same way. Not angry at anyone - nobody has done this intentionally after all - but I am disappointed. Particularly after reporting the issue during the Beta, and again during this Trial. Really I'd just like someone to acknowledge the specific issue and provide a meaningful update i.e. yes, the devs have seen the reports/videos, they have/haven't been able to reproduce the problem, we do/don't expect to have a fix in place for launch etc. As it stands we're completely in the dark. I think we've proved that the issue isn't on our end, and thus can't be fixed by any of the troubleshooting steps. It's infuriating that you CAN actually get into the game with some wrangling - even for a short time - and that the progress does seem to be carried from one platform to another, which means that it almost works. It's a shame, as I was really looking forward to this one. I even booked time off to play it over the weekend.
The most frustrating thing for me is that the game obviously does work - there's just something weird going on with some of our Ubi accounts, which is failing on connection to the servers. I think if someone at Ubi could just take a look at the accounts of those of us affected, and compare with those that are not, then the solution may present itself. My guess is that my account is still tied to one of my previous Xbox platforms or something silly like that, though that doesn't explain why I'm able to play the likes of Ghost Recon and AC Valhalla without issue. My only thought is that perhaps Riders Republic is doing something different to those games, like maybe the cross-platform play?
Ok, so my boxed copy on XBSX just arrived (tried to cancel earlier this week, but payment had already been processed). Just installed, along with the day 1 patch, and I'm pleased to report the game connected straight away and let me into the menu. Haven't had a chance to get into the game yet as I was on a lunch break, but seeing as I was never able to get past the title screen on the Open Beta or Trial Week (without the guest profile workaround, which booted you out with the 'grooming' error after a few mins anyway), this is a good sign I think!
Will report back with a confirmation once I've had a chance to actually play
I do wish Ubi Support had been a bit more forthcoming and let us know that this was actively being fixed. I imagine they've lost quite a few pre-orders due to this, not to mention the worry those with it still on order experienced that this would be the same on launch day. Happily that doesn't seem to be the case.
Similar issue here unfortunately. I'm on Xbox series X. Game crashed as I picked up the relic in Mammoth Lodge. When I rebooted I saw a notification that the relic had been found, but I hadn't been gifted the Pizza Delivery Bike. This funkie is required for a star challenge, so without it I'm unable to complete it.
If I return to the area where I collected the relic, I am unable to interact - basically the game thinks I've already collected the relic (as seen by the 11/11 relic counter on the map screen), but due to the crash the reward wasn't given. Hopefully a simple fix for the devs once identified, given the relic counter can be cross-checked against the player's gear inventory.
Quick update - I managed to play last night without issue So any of those that had trouble during the Beta or Trial, seems like it's safe jump in!

@ubi-froggard Great, thank you! I just hope the game will connect without the 'Off-Piste' error when I get my Xbox copy through
@Ubi-TheBerry I found a video online from another user which shows the exact problem I'm seeing, and the workaround that worked (briefly, before reporting the "Grooming 1" error). Might help to get this in front of the dev team?
@Ubi-TheBerry Is there any update on this issue from the dev team please?

@TyrantStarz I actually think it IS likely to happen on launch, as the Trial seems to be the full game but just with a limited timer. Gonna closely monitor this forum over the next few days, to see what support (and hopefully the devs) have to say about this. It's a pretty big issue, so I'd hope they are actively investigating a fix!
