Hi, I have a PS5 and have just gone through Watch Dogs. I am now on Watch Dogs 2 but I have a problem with the performance of the game. I seem to be getting intermittent stutters around every 15 seconds or so everytime I play the game. I noticed this issue has also been reported by other people but you suggested you could not re-create the issue, which I am very suspicious since "4" of my friends have been able to replicate the issue with their consoles (all of them on PS5).
I would like for you to investigate this issue as it seems the issue is at your end.
@spectankular Well I am not really surprised that Ubisoft hasn't replied. The game already frame rate issues as it is (horrible CPU optimizations) so I guess the HD texture pack is probably going to make it worse. I also have a RTX 3080 but am only reporting what I have seen so far out there (and the person had a RTX 3090 and he was struggling).
So I have seen a couple of things online (a DSO article and someones gameplay on Youtube) which point to this game having frame rate issues due to it pegging on a single core rather than utilising CPU cores properly (multithreading), is this going to be another one of those typical Ubisoft titles that performs like garbage on the PC but yet the console people get a decent experience? I would have hoped with DX12 you could have sorted all this out.
Why are your games always so lousy on PC? I have a 10900K+RTX 3080 system yet I am struggling to even get 60fps at 1440p. Those new consoles can somehow get to this number with nice optimization, wouldn't it be nice if you gave us PC gamers that option too? Maybe some temporal reconstruction or DLSS?
@skodri5 Just try not to pre-order, its very easy to get hyped up since Ubisoft tend to advertise their games quite well. I already know that Ubisoft has an awful track record for PC ports/versions. This game is no different. The only choice I had was to lock the framerate to 30fps and its very smooth now (and everything is on Ultra at 4K, using an RTX 3080). I thought DX12 would revolutionise these games and the performance aspect but instead both this and WatchDogs are turds.
