quick update:
the weekly items just refreshed this literal past minute, so hop on if you need these repeats lol:
Hey, just updated the game on my Xbox series x. My current build is 1.2.2.1 (so it’s the most recent update) and all my items from the last event disappeared! I was trying to summon my raven (which I had the colorful raven skin equipped) and no matter what, I couldn’t summon the raven!! I tried reloading the game, older saves… all those steps people stated to try In the past. After nothing worked, I got the idea to go to my stable and equip a different raven skin to see if that would help. Once in the menu at the stable, I noticed my equipped colorful raven skin wasn’t even in the menu of owned raven skins. I equipped a different skin I already owned, and sure enough, the issue of not being able to summon the raven was resolved, but now I realize it was due to having an equipped skin that the game clearly assumed I just didn’t own.
I might have older images on my profile with the raven skin equipped (I’ll have to check), but I obviously don’t have any way to take a screenshot of it now as proof since it is non existent.
Also, once I noticed the raven skin was gone, I checked the “flower” hair styles at my barber shop and those are also missing.
Whatever happened with the most recent update seems to have removed all of my content I unlocked from the last festival event. I can’t be the only person this has happen to, so what can I even do at this point? Are you going to release a future update to fix this because all the stuff you’ll likely tell me to do (clear cache, restart console, load older saves, etc etc.), I’ve done that. Please help!!
Now this is just intentional drip feed of pointless “filler” items. I get that community managers and such on here don’t have any power when it comes to getting feedback into the hands of the ppl in charge of Reda’s store items, but come on Ubisoft…. It’s blatantly obvious what you’re doing!! Every weekly cycle consists of items that you know are meant to take up space (this week, you put the reindeer skins in twice, knowing any normal person isn’t gonna buy both skins, so it’s an opportunity for you to add one less “good” skin and have more “filler” instead of actually putting ALL skins in at some point), and this is just insulting at this point!!
The past month of weekly items are trash. When you add good, new items, it’s always 1 a week, but that isn’t even happening anymore! That's not even talking about the obvious trash model you use on the daily selection… which brings up my next point…
The daily selection always, and I mean ALWAYS, has either a dumb tree, a dumb tattoo (never the good facial ones), or a dumb ship decoration every day, with one “good” item thrown in per week. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out you don’t want ppl buying everything with opal and you want them spending real money, but guess what?? If you actually bombarded the store with all the good stuff constantly, ppl wouldn’t be able to buy it all due to the terrible amount of opal you pay out for the meager amount of contracts we get to complete, so why drip feed it with bad items? All you’re doing is ensuring that ppl will save up opal for when good items actually show up (if they ever show up again), but again, if you had a steady stream of the good stuff, we wouldn’t be able to buy it due to lack of opal, so really, all you’re doing is making everyone who still plays Valhalla angry and ensuring they stockpile a lot of opal for the future.
I swear… whoever runs the “live service” portion of Valhalla (and even odyssey’s shop) does a terrible job! I’m not saying anything that’s untrue, so don’t get mad at my comment. I’m the one (along with the community… look it up on Reddit) who’s got every right at being mad at Reda’s shop and the ppl who stock his items. Triple and quadruple re-re-reruns of the same old/bad items isn’t a good process / engaging way of keeping the community active, it’s a crappy practice that’s worm all of our patience thin!
Get the word to whoever needs to hear this; REDA NEEDS AN ITEM REFRESH either bi-weekly OR someone needs to manually change the obvious “filler” items (boat, settlement, tattoo) to one of the many various good/new/armor/mount items so the daily/weekly schedule will include any new/yet-to-be-sold items instead of your obvious drip feed of crappy filler stuff! Your tactic of making us wait in hopes of spending real money isn’t working, cause I refuse to spend anything until I get to use up the 2k opal I have saved and I’m not spending it on those garbage items you keep recycling that are meant to make us spend real money!
@ubi-borealis
k thx! Just glad to know it isn’t just me that’s having this issue. I don’t want other people to have problems, but as long as I know it isn’t a one time deal, I feel confident knowing it’ll get fixed since a bunch of people have this same issue. Thanks for the speedy response!!
@spirantcrayon22
Keep it up!! You’re doing a great job documenting Reda’s shop!
if it truly meant as much to them as we’re led to believe, a hotfix would’ve been implemented to fix this months long ongoing intentional issue.
keep in mind…. Whenever exploits that affect the cash shop (in the players favor) appeared in the past (the pink boxes via diver raids), that was fixed in days. A simple change of weekly/daily items could be tweaked and altered to stop this intentional “bad” content, but it’s obvious Ubi doesn’t wanna fix it, so it’s great to see you continuously posting about it. Let’s just hope they don’t lock the thread from getting annoyed at reading all of this.
@la_frankie This is all by design. Ubisoft don’t care and they won’t update Reda to accommodate all of us who want newer items to cycle in and out more often.
The fact that the “Carolingian” set (the Amazon prime/twitch exclusive set) was quickly added into the shop’s rotation soon after the promo ended on twitch shows that they CAN put “new” items in for ppl who don’t have it yet, but they choose NOT TO, as to gatekeep the best stuff so that we break down and purchase it all with helix credits. It’s a shady, scummy practice they don’t plan on changing, and they’ll act like they’re looking into fixing it, but never will.
We’re getting close to 2 years of their lies and tactics… and it won’t change. It’s only getting worse and more restrictive as each game releases (since origins) while they figure out how to charge more and offer less and less each time.
It’d be one thing if all prices were halved, opals were doubled/tripled or they added another group of items to the weekly store and 2 items daily… or all of that, which would make dealing with repeats better, but it just isn’t gonna happen. Some of us have been complaining/documenting this stuff for over a year now (crayon, etc) yet nothing changes. That should speak volumes to anyone staying hopeful or thinking ubi is listening. They ain’t listening or changing things. Well… they’ll listen when ppl finally stop with the preorders and all that, so really, that’s the only way to get their attention, so keep that in mind instead of buying their “we’re looking into it” lines.

@sway277 I’m not 100% sure, but it looks like it’s all the same 6 items in different slots, but I didn’t write em down, so I can’t be sure. I do know 4-5 of the items were the same.

@stevez_pun
Hey, hate to break it to ya, but this is Ubisoft. They don’t care, and they won’t do anything about ANY of this stuff. It’s been happening to the vendors since Origins, and they won’t fix what clearly benefits them.
They’ve been quick to hotfix/patch the game when ppl abused the system with Reda in AC Origins (cause us getting legendary items constantly for free is a big no no!!), but any past issues with store purchases or the lost oriculcum in odyssey went ignored and all the same issues that are back with Reda in Valhalla that were in past games (daily/weekly stuff not showing up ) and the oriculcum contracts in odyssey (which are opal with a different name) not paying out or even appearing has returned, and nothing is done to resolve any of it. Nothing!
The prices are still insanely expensive and unfair, but hey, at least they reduced the “filler” items (settlement stuff, tattoos, boat stuff) to only be 35 opal, right? Yea, right… they know EXACTLY what they’re doing, and it’ll continue to happen… they’ll close threads that have proof of any of these unfair tactics and they won’t do anything about repeat items, lost opal, bad paying contracts, etc etc… they’ll continue to add expensive skins (and their prices keep going up per game, which for me, most skins are now $8 bucks and the obvious reskinned variants are $5) but ignore the loyal fan base and make it harder to find the items we want and force the casual player to shell out tons of money just to get the best looking skins/weapons.
It’s a disgusting practice and they know they won’t change any of it for the better cause there’s a bunch of first time assassins creed fans paying for the “cool looking stuff” here and there, just before they go back to fortnite, COD, or whatever other game these paywall tactics are aimed at. It’s sad and disgusting, and the loyal AC community suffer for it.
