Sooooo.... where exactly is this Beonton dog taking me? Been swimming behind it for literally 25 minutes. Taken me all the way down to Templeborough Fort then back up past Snotingham. Still swimming.
This game is truly appalling and mind numbingly dull. It's the last time I spend my hard earned money on any AC or Ubisoft game. Just awful.
@amarth9284 Okay. Firstly, you won't get an accurate view of the period through a Vikings eyes. It's so historically inaccurate. Everything from the demographics, armour, weapons, geography/environment, architecture & timeline/detail of political events are woefully inaccurate. Just thought I'd get that out of the way.
As for your concerns regarding microtransactions... I personally don't think it spoils the game as it's not done in an irritating or obstructive manner. Sure, you can buy extras but there's absolutely nothing stopping you from enjoying the game, acquiring powerful weapons & armour and levelling up your player without purchasing anything. In fact, depending on the difficulty you've set the game at, levelling up and progressing is quite easy (maybe too easy on normal difficulty).
There are neat pieces of gear that you can purchase with collectables you can find throughout the world called Opals (as in the semi-precious stone) which is basically the same as collecting/earning Orichalcum Ore that you use to buy gear & skins from the Oikos in Odyssey.
So, you can still enjoy the game because the precesnce of microtransactions are quite subtle in my opinion. The game is big enough to play without them although it could do with a greater variety of weapon & armour customization.
What should concern you when purchasing this game is the shocking amount of glitches, bugs & crashes. That's what ruins it.
@saku_77 might be a bit boring for you but head shots with a fully upgraded hunter bow might do the trick (with fully upgraded quiver). Divert all skill points to develop a ranged build (you can reset it again after). Apply runes that increase ranged attack. Plus, aim for weak points then go in for finisher when she's on her knees (might not kill but definitely takes a large chunk of life off).
Acquire all adrenaline upgrades to ensure you don't run out of powerful special ability attacks. Dive of the Valkyrie is a good ability attack.
Speed is also crucial so fully upgraded daggers in both hands are very useful for quickly getting in & out. And parry, parry, parry! Don't let that ghost clone of hers grab you.
Oh and stay outta those poison clouds
@karloz1995 agreed. I have no idea why Ubisoft don't allow horse combat. It's so pathetic doing a useless kick from the horse. And so irritating having to constantly get off the horse just to kill a Boar or Bear that's attacking you. It really slows down the gameplay & enjoyment.
It'd also be nice to toggle off/on the sights for the Predator Bows instead of having it constantly on.
While killing civilians shouldn't be encouraged it should still be allowed in the game but with consequences like Bounties such as in Odyssey. Or even reduced Honour (like Red Dead Redemption) where if your Honour reduces you find less resources/silver from chests/drops etc. and you're more likely to be randomly attacked by soldiers & civilians.
This game could be so much better. Its like the designers really couldn't be bothered putting any effort into it
