In the mission to acquire chicharron on PS5 latest built.  I am level 12.  I have set the gameplay difficulty to easy (story mode). When chicharron is in the building destroying paper, I have killed over 20 people and they keep coming until I fail the mission and everything automatically restarts. I then select to quit the mission but it restarts at the same point. I select load autosave and it continues to load the same mission.
I am stuck in an endless loop with no way to change it. - even when the difficulty is set to minimum. Why does changing the difficulty have no effect?
