I have the same issue and it has been reported back in December for the Good Men of Sherwood NPC.Several people have submitted tickets and showed pictures.No patch.Since this is a big issue and you can type in Good Men of Sherwood Glitch on Google and there are many threads and post....Can this issue be looked into on the Megathread posts?

Big npc was killer early on.I beat the whole game and came back and he is dead and can’t do the quest.The fluffy wolves got him.Too bad I didn’t make a backup file.Those wolves Goteem.
