First off, I have done every fix for this crashing nonsense. I did indeed cutdown on crashes, freezes, and other bs random pc locks or w/e happens when I need to fully restart my pc. I use DX12 and have so much more success staying in game rather than DX11. I read an article that DX12 handles the game better than DX11, never looked back as it seems to be true (but each pc is different, gpu...etc). I have an AMD 5900x liquid cooled, 3080, 32GB 3600mhz ram, run at 1440p 240hz, Steelseries periphs. So it is quite adequate to run any game I throw at it.
Crashes before : Running thru a mission, turn a corner..FREEZE, restart pc. Get some big explosions, or something that has a very loud sound profile...FREEZE, restart pc. Running thru a mission, see the enemies standing still, not firing, reacting, I know it's coming...FREEZE or the famous DELTA feature that Ubi/Massive love so much Delta errors seem to be connection issues related to the servers, because it usually starts with an instance of desync and server lag. This could be every 5 minutes or every 25-30 minutes if you get lucky.
Fixes I did : Always have your drivers updated for starters. Disable any overlays you have in the background, Ubi connect, Discord, all of them. Set the cpu affinity for Easy Anti Cheat to 1 core using Process Lasso (free), set it to 1 core permanently. Also set my cpu priority to high for div2.exe, instead of normal priority. Checked to disable full screen optimizations (google it). Changed the high DPI settings and set it to applications (google it). Went thru Nvidia control panel and set most settings to performance, with vsync off, no low latency mode, plus more, experiment for yourself. Verify files every once in a while. I use run as administrator for the div2.exe. My game setting are not low, but most of the useless graphic options are set to low, such as shadows and things like that. I don't use full screen anymore, I have went to windowed full screen. Reason for that that is because of the type of problem I have now, I can still access task manager in windowed full screen, but cannot in full screen. So getting back in the game is faster when I do get locked up.
Crashes now : Really the only problem I get is when I am in my inventory, crafting bench, or recal station. My mouse pointer goes to 5fps and I cannot press anything anymore, so the ctrl - alt - del still works to get to task manager as I mentioned before why I run in windowed full screen. Occasionally I do get a hard lock on my pc, but it is very rare.
UBI PLEASE - Do you play your own game? Maybe on console because you know it can be unplayable on pc for some people. No way you play on pc and enjoy it. Fix when? Care when? I am 49 years old and have played video games since the beginning. In those years, I have never had ANY game crash, error so much as this one and I have tried to think of one but I cannot. Your priorities must be somewhere else and it shows. This community deserves better than this.
P.S. Who is the genius who brought up the shield break mechanic? Has to be fired immediately.
@sock_monkey Yup, and I did something about it! Im on PC, did some research on the crashing b.s. and found some fixes, they definitely helped ALOT. I was using DX11, now I use DX12 and I have less crashes. I read about the engine of Div 2 and DX12 handles it better than DX11. I use a Gsync 240hz 1440p monitor with an Nvidia Asus TUF 3080, I have Gsync and Vsync enabled with Low Latency mode on Ultra. Never believed in Vsync, ALWAYS had that off in games. But I read that to get the most out of your performance especially in Div 2, both Gsync and Vsync work well together. I also fixed Easy Anti Cheat so that it only uses Core 1, the affinity settings, did it permanently thru a program called Process Lasso, its free. I also use Nvidia Image Scaling, I am on the resolution right below the max resolution for my monitor. The scaling only takes effect when you are running a resolution less than your native resolution, works wonders and I don't lose any image quality, but the game runs smoother as I also get 15 more FPS this way. All my drivers are updated, GPU, MOBO, AUDIO, peripherals, everything. I don't overclock, don't mess with anything other than what is available as a click option/setting. I don't know if these things will help everyone because every setup is different, but it drastically cut my errors from maybe 3-4-5 times within a 3 hour period, to maybe 3 times per week. And I don't even crash anymore, my game will just POOF and I am sitting at the desktop, no lock, no reboot, no ctrl-alt-delete....just go back to UbiCon and start game again. So to me, that is waaaay better. Good luck in trying any of these things, it sucks to have to do some much just to play a dam game in 2022, but I like the game and wanted to enjoy it. If I think of anything else I did, ill edit. Good Luck all
