

@ubi-woofer This patch did not fix anything for 90% of us. Almost all of us experienced problems after we looted the brooch prior to the main questline. Quite frankly, this particular bug should have taken priority over all other bug fixes within the last 2 months because nothing is more game breaking than this. I still have no quest objective, and the brooch is still in my inventory. Guess we should all give up on playing the game. I do not see this being resolved within the next 3-4 months, even though it should have been the teams number 1 priority.
Such a terrible and hopeless feeling to be wishing for a big company to hear your requests, but to be continuously shut out, lied to, and deceived. At this point, it has been 3 entire months since this issue was brought to Ubisoft's attention. There is NO WAY they have put any time into fixing this. I absolutely refuse to believe that they are working on this game breaking bug. If I were to get any sort of response from a staff member, it would just say "Sorry to hear about your situation, we have a team working on this bug fix at the moment". Same old BS since November. It truly is sickening what they are doing to all of us. I am sorry to everyone else who experiences this bug. This is completely embarrassing by Ubisoft and should not be forgotten by us buyers. Stuff like this should be making its way to IGN or something so people can know what we are going through. It is such a problem because it is essentially robbery, as all of us paid between 60-100$, but the company won't help us with out faulty products. I truly do not see this bug EVER being fixed. They have already moved on past this issue, and started developing the next set of weapons to release as DLC. This is absolutely pathetic. I am close to removing the bookmark I have on this forum post because all hope is gone. I will never be able to play this game again, which I enjoyed so much when I first got it. Sorry guys I think we lost.
Was hoping to see this get fixed in this patch because its been a known bug for 1 month now. I put 70 hours into this game in just one week because I was enjoying it so much.... Haven't touched the game in almost 3 weeks because of this stupid bug. They keep saying they are looking into it but other bugs that aren't even game breaking are being addressed and this one isn't. This bug literally prevents people from playing the game.. simple as that. Guess we wont be able to play this game until 2021 guys.. Might as well look to refund it if possible. What a shame
I can't take this anymore man.... this should be illegal or something right? They are not helping thousands of players who literally cannot beat the game, and yet they won't refund or help any of us. Something isn't right here and action needs to be taken. It has been 3 whole months now.. 3 months without a single answer. There is absolutely no way it takes them 3 months to fix one buggy questline. So much wasted time and money for all of us. This is complete robbery.

Can you please give us any sort of confirmation or assurance something will be done? These posts have been made for almost 2 weeks now and its not even on the known issues page. None of us can even play the game anymore. We all paid $60 and we literally cannot play the game. This is urgent lol it seems like nobody is paying attention to this game breaking bug.
I am also stuck on this quest. I collected the brooch for this mission much earlier in the game while I was exploring for loot. The item needed to progress further is already in my inventory, but the game does not recognize this. I have not experienced any crashes or anything, the quest in the top left corner of my screen just says "In the absence of an Ealdorman" with no quest markers or objectives at all. I have the item already, so there is nothing for me to do. I cant progress any further, and I can't continue the main quest unless this gets fixed. I contacted customer support and I have a ticket for it but I have not received a response in close to 48 hours. I haven't opened up my Valhalla since this bug came about. Can someone please help all of us. This is a game breaking bug and disables everyone from completing the game. I should not be penalized for exploring on my own and collecting items that are presented to me. To sum it up, I collected the brooch earlier on in my playthrough. When I finally got to the questline where this item is needed, the game doesn't recognize I already have it so it is glitched and isn't giving me anything to do. I got the exact same problem bro it's so frustrating. I collected the brooch earlier on in my playthrough, and now that I'm at the quest where I need to collect this item, I can't do anything. The game doesn't tell me anything. No markers, or objectives.... It is literally a game breaking bug and we can't play any further unless it gets fixed. Hopefully someone can help us!

I'm on PC and I am experiencing a game breaking bug that physically will not let me progress in the game. I have 70hours in my playthrough, and I am stuck on the "In the absence of an Ealdorman" quest. During this quest, I am required to search the Ealdorman's body for something I can bring back to his son as proof that he is dead. I have already collected the Ealdorman's brooch earlier in my playthrough, and the game doesn't recognize that I already have this item. Now the quest in the top left corner is blank, and there is no quest objective. It only says the quest name, and there are no markers, or anything else for me to do because I cannot collect the brooch again. I picked it up earlier in the story as I was exploring for new items. I have tried verifying my game files but nothing helps. I have already contacted customer support but they have not responded in 24 hours so far and I know many others are experiencing this problem so I hope this post can shed some light on other peoples problems as well. This is the worst type of bug in a game, as it literally disables me from playing anymore. This quest is a part of the main storyline, so I can't do anything until this is resolved. Someone help please.

I already submitted all my saves and files you guys requested, and I did it back in November. I honestly even forgot that I own this game. 80 hours of playtime gone, and it is so unfortunate because I was really enjoying the game. We have heard the same response since early November, and I am honestly starting to believe this won't be fixed within the next 4-5 months. Hopefully you guys actually try your best to fix this for us.

I also have had the same problem for almost a week now. Hundreds of players are experiencing this game breaking bug but no staff members have even acknowledged this. It is literally stopping people from completing the game. I contacted customer support 4 days ago and haven't heard a thing. Guess I wont be playing this game for several weeks. I hope this makes its way to the known bugs page.
