After obtaining information from temple of Mithras, no quest marker appears and no NPCs are present at the governors villa. The image of the blue guard hanging from the ceiling is still there. A quick Google search shows others are having this exact same issue.
That feeling when one of the worlds largest game development studio is given nearly 4 months and yet can't fix a simple "objective doesn't load" bug.
But seriously though, I agree with other posters. They didn't fix Sons of Ragnar until the community backlash became great enough. The same thing seems to be happening here, it is being, as another commenter put it, "swept under the rug," probably finding it more important to focus on DLC or other shop content that can be monetized. I see no other reason why it would be this far into the game, and game breaking bugs from launch *still* hasn't been fixed.
Ubisoft's team seems to be only giving an "update" about once a month and it is always, without fail, urging us to be patient and telling us they are still investigating. I know that is also the only answer they are given, so I'm not blaming the customer support team. But still, it is absolutely ridiculous that not only they appear unable to fix what seems to be a relatively simple bug, but they won't even admit it to us.
I wanted to buy Immortals: Fenyx Rising but decided not to as this has destroyed my trust in ubisoft. Hope you guys get your stuff figured out soon. 3 months in, I kind of expected to be able to play this game.
@porcupine_racer some person on reddit also managed to fix it by literally using Eivor to push the characters in the church back into the villa, where the cutscene triggered. He said it took him an hour and a half to push the npc all the way there. I don't have the patience to do that, haha.
Bad news guys...another monthly title update and still no fix. Not even a mention of Walls and Shadows on any of the official lists still, so all we have to be sure they even know the bug exists is the forum managers word. Look, I'm glad to see Absence of Elderman patched but...what is this the fifth large patch since the bug was first reported? I'm starting to give up hope I'll ever get to play this game again...
@ubi-woofer Hi, I don't feel like trying to deal with all of the screen recording on xbox (it's annoying) but thankfully I found a YouTube video showing this exact issue:
@Ubi-Borealis I have legitimately been waiting for a month, checking every day for a patch. Obviously I am not the game's dev but it seems like such a small thing to patch, and every few weeks you guys tell us they are "investigating". I would be well within my rights to seek a refund for faulty product, but I really enjoy this game and want to play it out. Could you please at least give us a rough timeframe for when we can expect to see this widespread and game-breaking bug patched?
@ubi-borealis So essentially, you're telling us you can't fix it, and are encouraging us to get refunds. Wow.
The bit thats even more disappointing to me isn't that fact, but rather it took you 4 months to finally say that. Let us believe a fix would be coming for all this time. Thats a shame.
Another monthly patch gone by, and still no fix! Ubisoft, I get it's hard to patch things, especially when you cant recreate them in game, but shouldn't 3 months time be enough to at least find a workaround so we can play this game again? I paid 60$ for this product, a shame it doesn't work for so many of us. I expected a bit more from such a large studio as Ubisoft - I get all games launch with bugs, but now it's three months in, three *patches* in, and the same game breaking bugs that were present at launch haven't been fixed yet? This will unfortunately make me think twice about buying Ubisoft games in the future. Hope you guys get it fixed soon, I want to play this game again.
Hey @Ubi-Woofer and @Ubi-Borealis. When this bug was first reported on November 22 (!!!) we were happy to wait it out and were assured by you a fix was coming soon. It is now abundantly clear that Ubisoft is not interested in fixing this game or even offering a workaround after 4 months. And it’s also become clear that you guys are ignoring the forums as they become increasingly more and more angry, as referenced by the fact it’s been nearly a month since your last update post.
I personally am done being angry about this. But the very least you could do, as a common courtesy to us who paid 60$ or more to purchase this broken product is give us some way to facilitate a refund.
Yes, as others have mentioned this is absolutely a stall tactic. Feigning ignorance on the BBB, promising for months a fix is coming but refusing to say when...they’re hoping eventually we’ll all do a fresh restart or just get a refund, and then they won’t have to waste their devs time doing annoying things like fixing the broken product they sold and can spend more time doing good things like pushing out DLC so they can extract more value out of us for their shareholders
@ubi-borealis people think your responses are generic because the “monthly” updates always say the exact same thing.
“Hello everyone! Sorry for the delayed update. Unfortunately, that game you payed 60+ dollars for still doesn’t work, and at this time it is still “under investigation” and we’re unable to provide an eta. We invite you to check our news and announcement thread for updates even though walls and shadows hasn’t been mentioned on there in the 6 months this game has been out.
@someone I’ve contacted the dev team to see if we can get any updates. Unfortunately, they don’t seem to know we exist because I first said that 3 months ago
@someoneelse stop trying to get around the swear filter. Why on earth would you be upset about a product you paid for which doesn’t work?
Make sure to remember you can get a refund through the Ubisoft store! Of course this is a known console bug, and most of you are on consoles. That sucks, you’re out of luck”
I don’t mean to be obnoxious, it’s just the same thing month after month. People get tired of hearing the same thing and just want to know what’s taking so long.
Hey @ubi-woofer and @ubi-borealis. I am trying to make the decision of whether to restart, refund, or wait for patch, and I have just one question. It’s a very simple question, and I talked to your colleague on discord (Dan, I believe), who agrees that transparency in this regard is better. So here’s my question: What is the progress to the bug fix? Is it still undiagnosed? Has the dev team recreated it and is working to solve it? Is it coming soon, or will it be 6 more months? The answer isn’t “we’re investigating,” or “we’re unable to provide an ETA at this time.” If the dev team has run into complications, id appreciate just being told so. Helps me as a consumer of your product inform my decision.
Good news guys!
Ubisoft has announced that they are sorry the last few patches have not been up to par, that they will now take longer between patches to make sure they’re great
Bad news
They just released the new patch notes and still no mention of walls and shadows.
