I expected beautiful graphics when I booted the game up for the first time but immediately knew something was off, as others have been reporting and posting there seems to be a bug with textures just not loading in, characters, guns, guapo, clothing, gear in menus etc. for me are all blurry as and look like a PS1 game, aiming down sight on weapons is distracting as the back of the gun looks like mud. I’ve tried reinstalling the full game, same with the texture pack, mixing different settings but nothing is working. I also tried another thread’s suggestion of deleting files from the documents folder but again no luck. Anyone had any fixes for this? It’s really distracting trying to watch cutscenes and such looking so bad.
I think I've managed to get the textures to work for me mostly, I have still noticed them occasionally bugging out but seem to come back after a while by keeping the VRAM usage under 6GB (out of 8 as I have a 3070) however this is still really pathetic and needs to be fixed ASAP. I was able to play FC5 at 1440p, Ultra, with the HD textures AND played with the resolution scale at 2x and it looked and played fantastic. Here with FC6 I'm stuck playing at 1440p, Medium, no HD textures, no ray tracing, resolution scale at 1x. How is this the case? C'mon Ubisoft this should be one of the #1 priority fixes. I could care less about some minor bugs and such the game has but the textures and overall poor performance is really bad. Game has been out over a week and still you don't seem to know what the problem is or when it'll be fixed.
To be honest I have liked most of Ubisoft's games, love the Far Cry series. But FC6 on PC really needs work, especially with regards to the textures bugging out. I'm annoyed they released a PC trailer making the game out to be really good and optimized for PC, whelp, seems like a total lie to me cause so far my experience on PC has been really quite S**T. Can't believe a $750 console can play the game better than $3,000 PC's... games needs to be patched. Fast.
@ubi-karl I am also having the issue with textures, they look horrendously bad no matter what settings I use, I've reinstalled the game twice now, tried the texture pack on an off and also reinstalled that as well. I managed to boot the game up once and it looked fine on one of my weapons, then I changed gun and it went back to looking like mud. It only seems to be on weapons, my characters arms, clothing/gear, amigos and some characters such as Lita in in the intro. Any ideas?
I also have the same problem and it's kind of bugging me, I reinstalled the game twice now and have tried messing with all the settings and still no luck, every texture for me looks awful, that's with Ultra and the texture pack on. Really needs to be fixed ASAP cause it is really distracting.
@ubi-viral are we looking at days? Weeks? How long till this is fixed. Game has been out over a week now and I still don’t plan to play it until the textures are fixed and the game can run properly.
@flubberfok yeah I also tried with the pack turned off but it didn’t look any different, also tried reinstalling the whole pack and nothing. Sucks really cause I specifically bought this game on PC instead of my PS5 cause the PC trailer made it look great on PC, now I’m left with it looking terrible cause almost every texture on the game looks like rubbish. Hopefully they fix this asap.
@booyahjoe I’m with you man, can’t believe it still isn’t fixed, don’t think I’ve ever got a game on PC with a graphics problem like this, needs to get fixed asap. C’mon Ubisoft it’s getting ridiculous. You hyped the game up on PC making it out like It’d be so good and this is it?
Yup there’s another thread with like 30+ pages of people having the same problem. For many people like myself the textures are bad even with the texture pack not even installed. I’m also playing on a 3070 and I can’t have my settings any higher than a mix of medium/high at 1440p, no ray tracing or the textures also go blurred. Super annoying and at this stage it looks like Ubisoft has no clue what the cause is or when it’ll be fixed. Gonna be waiting a few weeks I think. Maybe longer.
We're now over 3 weeks after launch and the blurry texture issue is still prominent in the game. Is there any update on if & when this is likely to be fixed? It's so distracting seeing cutscenes look so bad, any new weapon I find looks like mud, it completely kills the immersion in the game, I really hope they're not waiting for the title update to put a fix in, I hope we see this sorted in some kind of hotfix as for me this is the biggest problem I've had with the game. Ubisoft, anything?
Just tried the game WITHOUT the texture pack installed, never used it before either but for the first time can confirm the textures are loading properly with this new patch. Only got to play for about an hour but so far so good. Shame this took 2 whole months to be fixed but hopefully this is it and no more buggy textures. I might actually play and finish the game now.
@bladerunner4077 Yep can confirm after hours playing the texture issue for me is basically gone. Haven't noticed the textures go bad on guns, vehicle interiors or any amigos as of yet. I hope it doesn't return but for now I can finally play the game without textures looking like mud. 1440P, all Ultra, RT on. No texture pack. However I also tried raising the resolutions scaling to help eliminate jaggies and shimmering but that does cause the textures go blurry again, but as long as I keep it at 1 then it works fine.
Can confirm no changes for me either, had hoped this could be it but nope. Same issue, only thing I noticed is the in-game VRAM bar is showing that I'm using more VRAM than I was previously. Fiddled with the settings to try get my textures to work but can't. 3070 - 8GB RAM, can't seem to go any higher than 1440p at Medium preset without losing textures. (No HD Pack installed).
Guess I'm still not playing this game until another update comes.
EDIT: to my amazement, it may actually be working... for now.
I decided to try deleting the Far Cry 6 folder from my documents, rebooted my PC and booted up the game, didn't touch anything but set graphics preset to Ultra, turned on ray tracing reflections, shadows and enabled Fidelity FX. Loaded in and wallah for the first time since I've owned the game the textures are actually working. My concern is when I get into a heated situation are they going to bug out again, but so far they've been working. Fingers crossed this is it and I can actually enjoy the game as I should have been able to a month ago now.
@bladerunner4077 Is the patch even out yet? I'm on PC and haven't had any new download as of yet.
The system requirement for 1440p, ultra with ray tracing is exactly what my PC has yet I can’t use ray tracing or ultra without textures bugging out. Stuck at medium/high settings. I’ve never used the texture pack and still am stuck with blurry textures. How has this still not been address and you guys have no idea when it will be fixed? Almost a month after launch and still this is not looking like it’ll be fixed anytime soon.

@haphazard72 I personally love it, would have to say it's my favorite Far Cry game. I love how massive it is, just exploring the world, collecting new gear and weapons, I've found a lot of the missions to be really fun. Overall I think it's a great game and I'm only at 35%. I am however pretty disappointed in the quality of the PC version, since day 1 issues with crashing, textures not loading, stutters, it's definitely a bit rough for a "Ubisoft Original". But technical issues aside the game is great.
Unfortunately people have been posting about this since launch day and so far there is no permanent fix. At this point I wouldn't be surprised if they ever fix it. Ubi's response is to try a couple troubleshooting tips which haven't worked and other than that, nothing. Sucks cause I'd also like to experience the game properly on my PC as I paid $100 AUD for it.
@Ubisoft some observations I've had with this issue over the last 3 weeks. I'm playing on a RTX 3070 8GB, 16GB RAM & an i5 10600K running the game also on a SSD.
Playing the game at my monitors native resolution which is 1440P, with the preset at Ultra, blurred textures on guns, amigos, some things in the environment (rocks, tree trunks etc.) Dani's arms, clothing on both NPC's and in the arsenal menu.
I have tried messing with every in game setting possible, tried dropping individual settings like the volumetric fog, shadows, environment geometry etc. etc. and still the issue remains. I've sometimes been able to play with everything maxed on and the textures will work for a couple minutes before switching weapon and noticing the blurred textures returning. It's baffling because it seems no matter what settings you use the blurred textures happen, sometimes they'll work briefly with settings turned down, sometimes turned up. I even try playing with the resolution scaling at 1.5x as it looks great, again sometimes this will work but not for very long. Seems that no matter what settings I use, I get the texture issue. According to MSI and the Xbox overlay, although the game settings will say I'm only using about 5-5.5GB of my VRAM, MIS/Xbox tells me it's more like 6.8-7. From my testing the amount of VRAM being used doesn't seem to be affecting it, regardless of how low/high the VRAM is the texture bug is still present. The best I've managed is 1440P, no ray tracing, medium settings I played for a couple hours and it was working ok, but soon enough it did return.
Note* all this is also WITHOUT Ray Tracing as this doesn't work on or off either.
Running the latest drivers, have also tried previous ones and no luck. This is all also WITHOUT the HD texture pack. I have tried it, did nothing so uninstalled. Tried all this with the pack installed and uninstalled so the texture pack seems to make no difference at all.
@notsofast71 I've seen people say going into Ubisoft connect and verifying the files has fixed this. Maybe worth a try? Seems the patch has maybe corrupted some files so verifying them will re-download/fix whatever files are corrupted.
