DITTO - Jomsviking gear constantly resets to the default rubbish.
ALSO My jomsviking doesn’t have all of my gear,
At first I thought he didn’t have certain items like Mjolnir, Thor’s armour, Ragnar’s Drengilir dagger, or Excalibur because they are unique one-off items, but he also doesn’t have the soldier’s flail and a number of other things from the later game.
This is really frustrating. Another thing I hate about River Raids is how raiders are always blowing themselves up - they run around with torches (before the enemy combatants have been killed) and walk straight into those big red oil flagons. Drives me insane.
Only managed to get this far by editing someone else’s save because I was one of the lucky ones to get the game-breaking Brewing Storm bug.
Valhalla has way more bugs than Cyberpunk 2077 ever did.
And at least CDPR fixes their bugs.
Ubisoft releases a [censored] broken festival and more goddam cats.
Since some of us affected by this bug on PC have found a workaround by using someone else’s working savegame (after editing the user id encryption string in an Open Source app to associate it with our Eivor etc) maybe you could pass this information on the dev team help them isolate the problem?
Maybe it has something to do with quest progression data stored in the save game becoming corrupt?
That might explain why it affects players on all platforms.
I have my 20 bugged save games backed up so maybe you could compare one of bugged saves to one of the un-bugged saves (the first one was shared via Google Drive by another player, then edited to work with my Eivor) and run a forensic analysis ?
@h-soloshotfirst IF YOU’RE ON PC look for a post from @sleinroux sometime around March 19 - they found a workaround and posted a link to a detailed how-to.
It’s involves backing up your own bugged save games and then downloading a working save that they kindly shared via Google Drive, then editing a string in the downloaded save with an open source app to make it work with your Eivor.
Most importantly IT WORKS.
[If you follow this method though you might need to edit your Internet Options and security settings in Windows to run downloaded exe files + you also need to first deactivate cloud saves in your UPlay settings otherwise your cloud backups will overwrite the un-bugged save]
PS for those on console: IF you know how to connect your console to a PC so it displays like a HDD + you can access, edit and upload save games it would probably work for console too - but that’s a bit like jail breaking an iPhone and I suspect it voids the warranty so really isn’t the kind of thing one should be discussing here.
@sleinroux THANK YOU !!!
Loaded your save game as per your instructions and for the first time ever the cutscene triggered, Eivor awakens to Dag yelling and I finally got to fight Dag.
It feels a bit strange loading another player’s save as my favourite weapon (the Yngling Seax or however it’s spelled) isn’t in Eivor’s inventory but who cares because at long last I can finish this stupid stage and move onwards in the game.
I am eternally grateful to you for being such an awesome team player.
Thank you for helping out your fellow assassins.
[Since so many of us have been affected for so long by this bug Ubisoft really should have given us a workaround like a script (which it would take a dev about five seconds to write) or a debug console command to trigger the stupid fight.]
Is it possible to get a script or a console command to force progression?
A while back there was a similar issue with Fallout 4 where a side quest hinged on dialogue with an NPC who wasn't where she was meant to be - the workaround was (and afaik still is) to use a debug console command to teleport the NPC to the player location and if that didn't work there was another command to force the quest to progress to the next stage.
Considering that this bug is affecting so many players and has been unresolved for over four months now maybe we could get a script to force progression as an interim workaround pending a proper bug fix?
SAME ISSUE (PC)
Unable to progress in A brewing storm
During Reporting on Cent got the cutscene where Dag confronts Eivor in the Longhouse
Then another with Randvi after which the objective changes to “Rest in your bed”
After selecting the action to go to sleep the screen fades to black with a small icon in the corner (exactly as per the video posted in the comments above)
After waking there is obviously a rainstorm but no sign of Dag ...
[From videos online it seems Eivor is meant to be woken by Dag yelling his name and challenging her to a duel to the death]
If I go looking for him he can be found by the three statues of the Norse gods near the burial grounds, and although he shows as hostile he doesn’t attack or defend himself.
I’ve tried loading manual and auto saves from various points prior to Reporting on Cent and replaying entire sequences prior to A Bloody Welcome but the glitch occurs at the same point.
The game is totally stuck and this is really, really ticking me off.
Is there a debug console command or something to force the game sequence to progress?
