90 euros for this slap in the face. Ubisoft never ceases to amaze. It's the first and last time I preorder a game on Ubi's store (and to be clear, it's not just about the silent removing of achievements).
@Ubi-Baron
I really do hope you'll inform your management of the frustration of the PC's userbase. This is not the way to treat your customers.
@ubi-keo
Sorry but that excuse doesn't fly.
Nobody -- and I mean nobody -- at Ubisoft ever tried to fast travel even once to Ireland, which is the latest DLC to date? I know internal and external testing is paid cheap these days, but a high budget game like Valhalla has had one of the poorest tech support in recent years.
It's not just the compression but the whole audio mix which is annoyingly monophonic. Valhalla lacks spatialization, everything sounds centered and muffled, even with dynamic range set on Midnight. Typical examples are rivers and cascades, which are barely audible. If this game was a movie projected in a theater, people would immediately ask for a refund.
I'm using Dolby Atmos for Headphones, which sounds wonderful in The Division 1 & 2. Even Origins and Odyssey have a decent surround mix. Valhalla is either bugged, or very poorly authored. The sound engineers have done a terrible job and should take this issue seriously.
What a funny situation.
Yule 2020 was broken and got cancelled without any explanation after just 2 days. Now Yule 2021 doesn't start if the game detects that you (more or less) participated last year.
By the way, what does happen with Gunnar this year? Does he get married again?
One thing is certain, this game could have never been Atmos certified. Even Origins does actually sound much better.
@doopi1
Funny that they mention Windows 7 (which is not even supported by Valhalla). First class tech support there.
I finished the festival (which is quite short) by litterally quick-saving every 30 seconds.
With that latest update, Ravensthorpe has become Crashensthorpe. I also did a few errands for Reyda without any stability issue, but every time I came back to the settlement, crashes systematically occured at one time or another, sometimes 10 seconds after entering the village.
The framerate is also very poor with all those added decorations. A hotfix is required ASAP.
Frankly, the technical state of the game doesn't bode well for the first DLC.
Like everyone else, I already have all the Adrestia cosmetics except for the shields.
I'm not going to spend 60 precious coins for an item which should have been rewarded by Ubisoft many months ago.
I'm having the exact same bug on PC -- Origins is stuck on title screen with the only option to "upgrade to full game". The irony is that I already have the ultimate edition of Valhalla. Come on Ubisoft, you really can't release anything that isn't bugged these days?
Spatialization as a whole is very poor.
Rivers and waterfalls barely make any sound, and most SFX seem to be mono and/or front-centered.
The only time the avenge missions have appeared consistently anywhere in the world was between the release of Ireland DLC and Paris DLC, basically all summer 2021. Some time after that period, they just stopped spawning. I haven't seen a single avenge quest since last Christmas (at least). I actually wondered about them while playing Ragnarok two or three months ago. I completed the DLC without seeing any player corpse. In Ireland and Paris, the avenge icon was frequently spawning 50 meters right in front of me.
Idem for me, some core challenges of Paris DLC (the four regions and 100% viewpoints) have been reset recently.
I could unlock again the four regions by fast-travelling to them, but none of the nine viewpoints (which are still accessible on the map) are registering in UbiConnect. The 100% bar is stuck at zero.
@KmarkoPL
What? Is it Steam's fault that the 1.6.0 build is crashing on Deck and Win7? (Considering the two issues are obviously related.)
@totaleclipse
Go to "C:\Users\myself\Documents\Assassin's Creed Valhalla" and open ACValhalla.ini with a text editor.
Search for the value UpsampleType= and change it to 0.
I definitely upgraded the fowl farm etc. at least 3 times each
As I already explained, the description of the settlement status is wrong. You need to upgrade each farm 4 times until you can't upgrade them anymore.
@bully365
No, my PS4 screenshots disappeared for good. I noticed this about 2 years ago, but they might have been wiped out even earlier. A shame, but I've moved to PC since then. Last I checked a few days ago, my PC screenshots were still online. I wonder if the screenshots are specific to a platform, or if you can only store screenshots from one platform at a time on the UbiConnect servers. It might explain why my old PS4 screenshots were replaced by my PC screenshots.
In AC Valhalla, screenshots are common to all platforms that you have connected to the same Ubi account. It means if you take a screenshot on PC, it will also appear on the map in the PS4 version.
I've seen this happening a lot lately. Enemies with a red aura appear blurry for several seconds just after using Odin's Sight.
It looks like a regression from a recent patch.
I've had the same bug feature happening to me with the mastery challenges.
While I totally understand that those challenges require a specific difficulty level, forcing a level scaling change in the global options without informing the player is a very bad design decision. That's not a proper way to develop a game.
