Hi.
I've been playing Valhalla on Series X since launch and have constantly been trying to adjust my HDR settings trying to get it right and cannot seem to find the correct setting. I have a Samsung Q95T which I have calibrated to using the Xbox HDR calibration tool. I initially had game mode on but have now turned it off as I think it makes the image quite dull. When it is night time the game still seems very bright as if it were a cloudy day rather than night. I had no issues on AC Odyssey which was wonderful on my One X. I'm not sure what the luminance and exposure should be set to. Have them at 1000 and 1 just now but the more I try and adjust it the more I think the image quality doesn't look quite right.
Any help much appreciated and if anyone has the same TV I would be interested in knowing your picture settings for comparison.
Thanks
Hi.
Just started playing Valhalla on Series X and want to ask if other players are having the same experiences I have. It appears that there is no option to change the brightness. The box is there for it but will not let me change it. I have calibrated the HDR on the Series X as per the instructions. I feel like at times the picture is particularly grey. I don't know if this an issue with my calibration/settings or if the weather/snow and time of day is just making it that way and it is supposed to be like that.
I also feel like there is a very slight audio delay whether I am using the TV speakers or my soundbar. I have no sound issues with TV/Sky/Netflix when using soundbar so wondering if this is an Xbox issue or game issue.
I am using a Q95T and Q90R soundbar. If anyone has a similar setup I would be interested in knowing your settings for comparison.
Thanks
Having watched a video about HGiG today I think it needs to be used by developers far more and in my opinion should be standard for Xbox Series X and PS5 games. From my understanding of the explanation it allows meta data to set all these settings so people don't have these issues. Unbelievably it seems only 3 games support it so far.
@chihaseed_
Let me know how you get on. I'm still having issues with mine and think there may be a setting I am missing on the TV. I have noticed that if I am standing in a building looking out during the day everything looks good. Within a couple of seconds of leaving the building it is back to been dull again. Thinking it must be some sort of auto feature messing it up but haven't found it yet.
@diiorio
Thanks for your reply.
All the guides I have followed so far have told me to set contrast enhancer to off however when I was experimenting with different settings last night found that the picture actually looked better with it on and game mode turned off. If I have read things right VRR is linked to game mode so I suppose it should have it on but can't stand the dull image quality. I've never had to adjust settings so much before with such inconsistent results.
Thanks

I have similar issue on Xbox Series X. Been trying to adjust HDR setting since launch and can never seem to get it quite right. I've turned of game mode on my TV now and it looks slightly better but still not sure it is as it should be.
