I think it is too. It looks like it was just incorrect info doing the rounds on YouTube.
To backup your save files on PC you need to copy the files located in this folder:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\savegames[user ID]\3353
There will be some sub folders there which you can ignore, as well as 1 to 4 files called:
"1.Save" (ignore this, it is the file used for saving real time data)
"2.Save" (this is the save file for the first/top slot in the save menu)
"3.Save" (this is the save file for the second/middle slot)
"4.Save" (this is the save file for the third/bottom slot)
After backing up those files, if you want to reload an old save file, replace the file (e.g. 2.Save with 2.Save) then select Load Game from the title screen (in this example load the top slot for 2.Save).
I started backing up my save files every couple of days, more frequently if I'm recording content ever since one of my save files became corrupted a few months ago... and I am glad I did because another save file became corrupted recently and if I hadn't backed them up I would have seriously given up playing the game altogether.

Yes I saw that, the link was in my original post XD

I can't find anything recent from Ubisoft on New Game +. I honestly think it's just a flying around the WWW
@azriah
I can confirm this has happened to me a few times too, including hearing the warning audios that are only usually heard in that mission e.g. "Gog is charging up a plasma burst", then the drones from that mission appear and in one case I even remember them blowing up the whole area (same as they do in that mission) if not destroyed/hacked.
Ubisoft support asked for videos of it as they were incredulous (around May time). We gave them the videos too. Whether or not they were passed to dev team I can't tell, but I haven't seen any acknowledgement of these problems and others that plague the online mode to this day.
Hi, I reported the problem of permadeath in online mode (which isn't supposed to be a feature) and how I lost Mina due to this, around 3 months ago.
The response I've had from Ubisoft was pretty much "Don't contact us, we'll contact you".
Ubisoft problem resolution has a big problem with information either not being passed to the developers, the developers brushing problems under the carpet, and customers' tickets being closed before a resolution is found.
WDL was my first experience of a Ubisoft game and the way technical problems are dealt with has made me feel like I should not play another Ubisoft game in the future.
Here's a few examples of how common these problems are:
1. Around January I reported a rare problem with save files on PC bcoming corrupted. The file itself gets physically larger the longer the campaign is played, and eventually weird stuff starts happening such as severe FPS drops rendering the game unplayable. I reported the problem to tech support which went backwards and forwards for two weeks, but the dev team wasn't even made aware of the issue before the ticket was closed (apparently there was an error in one of the 10+ dxdiag files, so the ticket handler just closed the ticket).
2. Ever since Online launched people including I have repeatedly reported problems with syncronisation, auto-aggro, graphic and audio artifacts as well as bugged objectives. Oh, and almost predictable crashes during car chases and gunfights. The response has been bewilderment every single time ("is it really that bad?"), almost like you guys don't even play the game, let alone methodically test it. As far as I can see, there has been no acknowledgement of these problems from Ubisoft devs, let alone a solution roadmap, 6 months later.
3. Around June, I reported a problem that, during a loading screen on on a day when NPC's were auto-aggroing/perma-spawning in online co-op, two of my operatives, including Mina perma-died. Again, call closed, no mention of whether devs would try to fix it.
Finally, 3 weeks ago I reported a problem with Darcy's recruitment missions not dropping in campaign, as have many other players. This time, I didn't even get a response, let alone a fob-off.
Essentially the message you are giving to players is, "you buy our games, you buy the additional content. If you have any problems with them, sorry it's too late, we stopped caring on launch date"
@neovoltron
I have two 'duplicates' for each file, one denoted with a 'b' like yours and a second denoted with 'b (upload)'.
Can't tell if this had any direct impact on gameplay though. I had a folder called 'Uplay backup' there too but it hasn't been updated since the last patches so looks like it's just part of a new way of recording and retrieving game saves.
I'm really curious what your 10.Save file is as I don't have one. I know 1.Save is the working save file, 2.Save is the top slot of your save menu. 3.Save is middle option and 4.Save is bottom option. How do you have 10?
@johnnyteoss
You can solo farm Dysfunction very easily and quickly (6 minutes per run) by using stealth (or drones if you know what you are doing). Doing that makes 2 of those 'Kelley spies' spawn by themselves, far away from other enemies and eachother. So you can mess about with them, push them into the the water is always fun but if you do that you can't scan them as the body disappears into the puddle lol.
But to answer the question of whether players can also edit skill sets (e.g. having an Aiden with Wrench's drone) online, that is technically possible too by editing game files. I've seen vids of players in teams with some messed up skillsets. Not encountered it in official online matchmaking so far though. I think that sort of thing happens via closed network p2p.
If you see it in online matchmaking it's an exploit. If you see it elsewhere, it's probably not harming anyone I guess?

Hi, thanks for the suggestions, I just reloaded the games, to check again.
On one of them I got as far as the first Kelley chapter, got the first Synchronisation mission and the 3 repeatable assassins contracts. Completed those but "Enter the Assassins" hasn't dropped.
On another I'm on tHard Reset (final campaign mission), same thing. Enter the Assassins doesn't show up.
On the third saved game file (404 mission), I had the sync/assassin contracts chain as well as Enter the Assassins mission and was able to get Darcy
If it is the case that there's a mission prerequisite or RNG element all Ubisoft need to do is let players know what the algorithm is. Since they didn't use this method of mission delivery with Aiden, Wrench or Mina, they should have stated the requirements in the update notes to in be honest.

Have you guys been able to get Darcy since you logged this issue? I also reported the problem almost 3 weeks ago and had no response from Ubisoft so I'm guessing they are intentionally not acknowledging the issue out of embarrassment (the usual corporate attitude of "don't say anything until the news is good").
The repeatable assassins missions (called "Synchronisation"/"resync") are available on all my save files by the way, but her recruitment mission ("Enter the assassins") simply never shows up on some save files, whether I'm out of the intro, half way through the campaign or right at the end.
Any chance of a reply?
These missions still not bestowing on my new saves as well as on a completed game, so I can't play as Darcy in Resistance mode.
This, in addition to Mina having died to permadeath in Online mode, (issue reported 3 months ago, still no fix) means that half of the premium operatives are broken for me.
Further info as I can't edit my post:
This testing was conducted on PC, but these issues appear to be being experienced by players on all platforms.
I have tried restarting the game as well as verifying my files. Neither had any impact on any of the affected save files.
On Day 1 of AC crossover I was given both AC missions on my current save file. I played them and unlocked Darcy on that file.
Then I started hearing people saying they are having problems recruiting her. I loaded some of my archived files on PC and for some strange reason, some files are missing 1 of the 2 missions, some files are missing all AC missions. The missions are missing on some of the earliest files as well as on files from after the end of the campaign.
This is a separate issue from Darcy being missing altogether due to a missing Season Pass, or missing update - I was able to play as Darcy a day ago and she is showing up in people's rosters as UNAVAILABLE (as she is meant to ne until the mission is completed) as opposed to not being there at all (for people without the Season Pass).
