Feel your pain man. My advice would be to swerve the game entirely until they’re actually bothered to fix it. They’ve taken our money and they’re taking FOREVER to fix these bugs that should’ve been fixed months before launch. It’s terrible
@belcechus
Damn, seems like a lot of people are experiencing this problem. And nah, I don’t think they care at all. We’re almost a month since the game was released and they still have a million bugs to fix. I doubt they did any sort of bug-testing prior to launch because the game is literally unplayable at this stage. What a waste of money.
Some gameplay improvement suggestions:
1) Transmog system
2) Tattoo previews in-shop so we can see how they’d look before we spend silver on them
3) halve the time taken to activate eagle vision because having to press down on the R3 stick for a whole second continuously gets tiresome/tedious
4) A shortcut to quickly switch between two selected bows without having to go into the inventory every single time and manually switch back and forth
These are the noteworthy gameplay features that I currently feel need improvements on. I’ll update the thread if I have any additional suggestions
@maddog0035
Such a shame, isn't it? We all paid a premium price for the game but instead of being able to enjoy it, we have to sit on our hands and wait for them while they take forever to fix the bugs which should've been resolved prior to release anyway. I've never experienced anything like this before.
5) an option to disable combat finisher animations, or at the very least, reduce their frequency
6) make leap of faith points more identifiable, such as by adding a tiny pile of hay/feathers on a high ledge/cliff to indicate that we can in fact jump from there and land safely. I believe this was present in previous ACs and it doesn’t make much sense to remove it.
Additionally, make haystacks a lot more noticeable. I’ve lost count of the amount of times I’ve jumped from a high ledge thinking I can see something resembling a haystack on the ground, only to fall to my death. Gets annoying
The game is crashing way too often to the point that it's becoming literally unplayable. Prior to the recent patch, it didn't crash for me at all. However I noticed that after the patch was installed, the game crashes on average once every hour for me. The fan in my PS4 is noticeably making a lot more noise while the game is being played, which is incredibly unusual as it has never happened before with any other game I've played and it's always very quiet, even in the middle of games in general.
I've had about 4 hours of gameplay since the patch was installed and it has crashed four times. The crashes are seemingly random, and I'm doing nothing to trigger it. For instance:
1st crash = immediately after I bought a couple of things in Yanli's shop.
2nd crash = in the middle of a raid. (Had to reload latest save and do the entire raid again. Fun.)
3rd crash = in the middle of a fight w/ a zealot.
4th crash = immediately after speaking to Reda.
Funnily enough, the only other times I've experienced a crash in the middle of a game were on AC Origins and Odyssey – although in these games, crashes didn't happen too often (every 10 hours or so), so it was manageable, despite not being ideal. A crash every 10 hours is something I can live with, but a crash every hour in a game that is already riddled with bugs is just taking the mick at this point.
On the same PS4 I've played Sekiro, GTA 5, FIFA 20, Call of Duty etc. and absolutely NONE of these games have crashed on me. This isn't a surprise as my PS4 is in perfect condition and there are zero problems with it. As such, it's pretty obvious that the fault lies with ubisoft. The crashes need fixing since it's literally a game-breaking issue.
@daegan87 Exactly. I just hope they iron out the major bugs once and for all and that they do it fairly soon. What a joke.
@a-cdn-mtn-bear
Yeah, I can't understand it at all. They didn't even take the responsibility of delaying its release to ensure the game is as smooth and complete as possible. Obviously the news of a delay wouldn't have been fun to hear in the moment, but at least it communicates to us that the developers have performed thorough bug-testing procedures and that they CARE about the product they put out. I'd have respected the decision of a delay and definitely wouldn't've minded waiting a bit longer. But this? THIS is what we have to deal with? What a joke.
It's also quite worrying that the issue regarding hard crashes hasn't even made it onto the mega-thread of all the bugs they're apparently working on, especially when there have been hundreds of reports about it. As if it wasn't frustrating enough to discover a bug around every corner in-game, we now can't even ACCESS the game we paid £50 (or more) for!
If this is what they perceive as a finished product, then that says it all. My wallet will stay closed regarding any future ubisoft games.
@cmason770 Agreed, it's a huge lack of respect for us loyal, paying customers. We paid up for the game and they can't even deliver us a finished product despite having TWO YEARS to spend on this game. But what takes the cake in the forums is when we're requested to send them screenshots/videos of the bug in action. Like, what?! Did they even run any sort of thorough bug-tests prior to release? Why are they trying to make it our job to help them with their job? We're the gamers, not the beta testers. To me it's incredibly cheeky as we're all frustrated with the bugs as it is.
@kormac67 one rule for them, another for the customers! How weird
@mstrtarvos Thanks for the feedback! I agree with your point about armour sets, those would be cool. In fact, the game needs more armour and weapons in general. I’m surprised that there aren’t any one-handed swords either

@morzan-a just so you know, the mods like to instantly delete any ‘bump’ posts. It’s really strange– almost as if they don’t want customers raising issues with the game. Very odd and pathetic.
@doner07 nah. don’t wait up for these lot to fix it because it’ll likely be another month at least. Just carry on with your game

Agree with paragraphs 2 and 3.
I believe in Odyssey we had an option in a quest where we had to follow someone, to simply press a button to “go to quest marker”, so I don’t know why they didn’t just apply to Valhalla as well. It makes everyone’s lives a lot easier.
Oh my god, the stealth needs massive improvements and I agree with every word you said. In Origins and Odyssey when stealthily clearing out forts, one successful tactic I used all the time was to climb the nearest tower and pick enemies off with the bow one by one, taking my time and not rushing anything. In these two games it worked very well as, even if a guard down below is looking around for me, it was very realistic in the sense that you aren’t immediately detected.
In Valhalla however, if I tried to use this same tactic and I was sniping from a high tower, I’ll be detected instantly the moment a guard on the ground even glances in my direction, even if it’s for a split second. I’m playing on normal difficulty too. It’s a bit ridiculous and needs fixing.
Since DLing the latest update, I noticed a slight delay in the ability wheel when I’m trying to use an ability. Before the update, if I wanted to use an ability, I could press down on the ability wheel button and on the corresponding ability at the exact same time, and it would work instantly. After the update however, I have to hold down the ability wheel button for at least a second before it lets me use an ability.
FYI: I’ve assigned harpoon impalement to the melee ability wheel, and the triangle button.
For example:
pre-update: I could hold down R2 (MA-wheel button) and at the same time press triangle, and Eivor would use the harpoon impalement instantly.
post-update: I hold down R2, but it doesn’t let me instantly press triangle to use the harpoon impalement. If I press triangle at the same time anyway, nothing happens. Instead, I need to wait ~1 second before my melee abilities are available to use.
This also applies to any of the ranged and melee abilities when I’ve tested them out, and I just used the harpoon impalement scenario as an example.
Could this please soon be fixed? It’s quite irritating, especially in boss fights.
Thanks!
@mid-kendov-kaan yeah I have a duplicated galloglach and huntsman armour since November. I’m wearing the entire huntsman set and I’m literally unable to upgrade the huntsman armour even though I have upgrade slots available and more than enough materials required to upgrade it.
it’s so annoying as I’m wearing the entire huntsman set, yet the armour (torso piece) is stuck on base flawless quality.
very annoying how this hasn’t been fixed yet. It’s been 3 months...
