Crashes to desktop with no error message immediately after splash screen.
Running as administrator does nothing.
PC exceeds minimum specs, all drivers (Nvidia) are up to date, the program is trusted by the antivirus. Microsoft C++ was uninstalled and reinstalled and windows updated to the latest version.
Still. Doesn't. Work.
It's been almost two weeks. I'm deeply regretting blowing sixty dollars on this junk.
I actually got it to run for the first time since launch last night, with the new patch.
It did the PSO Cache thing in the splash screen which I'd never seen before, and the game booted.
...And on trying it again this morning, we're right back to the game crashing from the splash screen again.
Also, can I just say this topic is explicitly about not being able to launch the game at all. Everybody who keeps butting in with crashes during actual gameplay, make your own thread.
I do a clean reinstall of both the game and Connect, and it works...Once. On restart it starts crashing again.
I do the bin fix and it works...Once. On restart, it starts crashing again.
Rinse, repeat.
Your QA is bad, and you should feel bad.
@rock_507 This worked, once. And only once.
Trying to boot the game again, it crashes again. And this time the bin_plus folder is gone.
Verifying files for an hour brings it back, but the trick doesn't work anymore.
This is probably going to be the last Ubi title I bother buying.
Well it sort of worked.
Uninstalling the game, deleting the folder, and reinstalling, the game actually ran, though it did the 'Updating PSO Cache' thing. Quit and rebooted the game. Still worked. Did the update again.
Restart the computer, try and boot it, no PSO Update, instant crash on splash screen.
If it's all the same, I'd really rather not have to reinstall the game every time I want to play it...
I already tried the tech support steps, with no luck.
I also opened a ticket, but closed it after they suggested I restore my operating system. I don't particularly want to bother with that when it's all of one program that isn't working.
Just Far Cry 6. Nothing else.
I'm going to try deleting the files and registry and going for a clean install. We'll see how that goes.
@flybyme
No logs regarding the game in the event viewer, and motherboard is already fully up-to-date.
It has now been well over a month.
The game still crashes on the splash screen, and remains unplayable.

@juhanieminen Didn't work for me, unfortunately.
