I was going to buy the High Elf mount with Helix credits but it looks like now that the item is part of a theme pack that's in the 'exclusive offers' section of the store it's no longer available to purchase by itself? This is my first week playing the game so I have no idea if this is normal (kinda weird if it is because now Ubisoft aren't getting my money), but if it is the case that items are cycled out for the exclusive offers then I would expect the things that were in there previously to be re-added to the normal section for purchase but they just seem to be gone.(Valkyrie pack and Modern Day pack were among last week's promotions). Is this a bug or a feature?
@ubi-borealis So if I wanted the Valkyrie ship pack, for example, rather than just buying that one item, I'd have to shell out for the entire theme pack?
That's frankly bizarre, because now rather than getting some money from me in microtransactions, Ubisoft will be getting none. It's not the end of the world, obviously, they're just cosmetic items, I just can't imagine who thought that would be financially beneficial for the company.
@caz_reklaw So did I, then I got excited to see an icon for the Valkyrie pack, but I can't click on it for some reason.
Why is the store so buggy, and what's the point of having a sale when half the items in the store are missing? I'm assuming the sale will be over by the time this gets fixed.
Just a thought, but couldn't this kind of thing potentially be avoided if the Animus store were accessible from outside the game? Never made sense to me that we can't buy cosmetics from the launcher like we can with the credits, DLCs and Connect rewards.
Head hair and facial hair are often different shades in real life. Not to make excuses for what may or may not be intentional discrepancies but at least it may help to know that, to a certain extent, this could be considered realistic.
The chances of getting the items you'd need with every weekly rotation means you could spend a year or more trying to get a full set, and if Valhalla is anything like the last couple of AC games, I'll have completed it in a few weeks at most. I know paying real money for cosmetics isn't for everyone but I can't wrap my head around this whole system. I've never been unable to give a company my money like this.
@sidsixt This does sound plausible but if people weren't willing to buy these sets before because of their underwhelming designs, I don't see why they'd pay more now to get them in the theme packs.
Anyway, I'm just going to go finish the game now and I guess I'll stick with in-game sets.

I know I'm not the best gamer in the world but I have decent reaction times and a good understanding of game mechanics in general, and yet I've never had the kind of difficulty with combat that I'm having with Valhalla. Your basic, small enemies are no problem but as soon as they start getting bigger, I have bigger and bigger problems.
Some enemies are too quick and manage to dodge every attack I make, no matter how fast my weapon is. If I can actually manage to shoot them using my controller they shake it off before I can get any real damage in.
Enemies that carry heavy shields are like brick walls. I've tried every type of attack with every type of weapon but I can't seem to consistently break their guard without dodging behind them and sneaking in a backstab, but they recover pretty quickly from that too and I very quickly run out of stamina.
I hate the stamina mechanic. The last two AC games got me used to dodging and now I can't do that without leaving myself completely open to attack when my stamina runs out. I find the parry system unreliable; the timing is nearly impossible to figure out, either I'm too early and end up using a special attack/block or I'm too late and get hit. That is if the enemies ever stop using unblockable attacks. On the rare occasion when I manage to get the timing right, the enemy recovers far too quickly for my liking.
Against bosses, every time I take a swing they close the gap between us and hit me. If I use a long or heavy weapon it's too slow and the enemy dodges. If I use faster weapons they're too weak to break enemy guard. I've tried skills that are supposed to knock enemies down but the big ones aren't bothered. I've tried every weapon combination in the game, single and dual-wield, light and heavy weapons. Shield and no shield but every one falls short against an enemy that's even remotely decent in combat. Adrenaline abilities are the only thing that reliably break enemy guard but I can't generate enough adrenaline to use them consistently.
I feel like I'm trying to fight using half a controller but as far as I can tell I'm not missing anything and every internet search just tells me I'm apparently the only one who can't figure this out. The only usable advice I've found says to just come back when I've levelled up but I don't think outlevelling the content should be the solution. The enemies I'm having trouble with are all within 15 levels of me and they don't have skulls by their names so I should be able to beat them without too much trouble, right?
