So as the title says my laptops CPU, a Ryzen 7 5800H running around 4.2ghz (3.6 without boost) will randomly hit 100% usage on all 16 cores for a second or two before returning to it's usual usage of around 35%-40% (and in doing so reduce the fps by nearly 50%). It doesn't matter where I am or what I am doing though it is more likely to happen in areas with lots of people. Also almost impossible to get 60fps with a laptop 3070 even though Valhalla gets me around 60fps on highest settings 90% of the time. I've known for a while Odyssey had problems with how CPU's are managed but this is fundementally broken. I don't expect a fix for a 3 year old game but does anyone know of a workaround? Maybe something I can do with the CPU itself?
So I've tried this twice now. I start the mission via the radio west of Verde Lake and the marker shows. But when I get there with plenty of time left there's no drop and a few soldiers and it can't be completed.
For some unknown reason the game played a cutscene correctly (not stretched as usual with FSR on) but now it's 16:9 not 21:9 as it is set in the settings (native 21:9). Changing the aspect ratio in the menu doesn't fix it.
There's a mission where you end up escaping attackers in a lorry and when I finished it I was left with a black screen and the game did not continue. I could hear sounds and the Ubisoft FPS counter was up and it was still running according to the task manager. But nothing was happening.
Edit: I reloaded and it looks like the game is broken. It was the operation Sundown and when I restarted I was on my own and wanted (highest level). The Journal still said I had to do the Operation but the gold star is not on the map so I don't see a way of comtinuing the story. I could add my DXDiag etc but would it help? Either way this is a SERIOUS bug.
So the game is working fairly well for me (CPU Utilization not-withstanding) but why are cutscenes stretched when I play at 3440x1440? Cutscenes are rendered in realtime using the game engine so I don't know why this happens. Maybe, as other games do, add bars down the side so it becomes 16:9. But stretching the cutscenes? I think it's because there is a border top and bottom in the cutscenes and the result would be a smaller picture if bars at the side were added. But stretching the image is not the answer. It needs to be fixed, pronto!
This started today. Whilst trying to play games that I have as part of my Ubisoft+ subscription I find that they are being dropped because the Ubisoft Connect app keeps dropping connection then immediately connecting again with the message "While you continue playing, we'll restore the connection to a service that just got interrupted. Some things might look a little odd in the client in the meantime" . I'm assuming thare is an issue with the Ubisoft server. That or my laptop but it's never done this before.
And I mean all his health and stamina in a second or so. Impossible to defeat. I've seen vid of him being defeated and he did not exhibit this continuous healing. I've used fire and poision but makes no difference. He's immortal.
