@ubi-woofer Hi, sorry for messaging you on this thread but I feel like I am talking to a wall with the live chat staff and I am well aware that you look into these issues instead of just giving the customers troubleshooting guides.
I am having a couple of issues on xbox one s that are potentially game breaking, I am not the only one.
Firstly, a lot of my npc's in my settlement have stopped functioning completely, I can not interact with them at all. The npc's are the following -
I have tried everything and nothing seems to work.
Second. I have been getting an error message saying that there was a problem connecting to the ubisoft servers and to try again later, it keeps happening.
I believe the two may be linked because all of the npc's effected use some form of online or clock cycle feature.
Ok this is starting to get annoying now, so basically I can't seek a refund because I have had the game for 2 weeks...... 2 weeks I spent waiting for a freaking update and the issue isn't even on the devs list to do yet. Are you joking? A game breaking bug and it doesn't take priority over a freaking bug that doesn't let people get wealth from an ingot off a corpse.
@Ubi-Woofer please tell me this is a joke, the dev team needs to sort their priorities out big time, some of us can't access half of the content in the game and the dev team are prioritising all of the minor bugs.
In the world of legality this product is faulty and not fit for purpose, yet I am being denied a refund, all I wanted to do was play the game I paid for and looking at how the dev team is handling the situation it will be mid 2021 before it gets fixed, I want my money back now!
@ubi-woofer I don't understand how much more I can help, literally everyone on this thread is having the same issue, there is no more info than what was provided already.
I wish I could give more info but everyone here has already covered everything applicable, not to mention save files and clips have been provided already by the other guys on the forum, I just wish I knew it would drag out this long because now I can't even get a refund because I'm outside the 2 weeks.
It just feels like by the time this bug gets fixed the game will lose value, I would have payed £59.99 for a game I probably won't play until goes on sale because it just seems like that is how long it will take to get fixed.
I'm pretty sure this bug was actually first mentioned 2 updates ago and we still have no progress, I just really want to play the game I paid for.
It's even more annoying because all of this time we have been missing the daily/ weekly items in the merchants, items I have no idea if or when they will be back.
@fireice38 cool next week, so what about the past month where I have been unable to do most things in the game?
I simply compared ubisoft to CD project Red, in less than a week CD has had 2 substantial updates out to try and patch their game, it has taken ubisoft over a month, do you see the issue?
Also, what if this update does Not fix the issue?
What then, do you expect me to be happy having to wait potentially another month for a fix? Let's be honest it wouldn't be the first time an update with the intent to fix a problem ends up making it worse.
@nchamp2014 nah its way too logical, letting the community beta test a game.
Let me make it clear ubisoft, people will understand game breaking bugs if the game is in BETA, hense the need for proper beta testing. Bugs like these on full release are downright appalling considering the price of the game.
@ubi-woofer awesome will do, just a heads up it's the same for me as in the clip another poster gave you, except for me I'm missing functionality on the -
And there was another but I can't remember.
Just out of curiosity Woofer, do you happen to know if this issue is fixable in a patch because I really don't want to lose 55 hours of progress.
I understand there may be some way for the dev team to reset the npc's but as for fixing the bug I hope it can simply be patched, at the moment I'm hesitant on playing because I don't feel good about spending more time gathering and doing side quests if I will have to restart.
@chriskean86 fair play honestly, I would really like a full refund, it's only fair given the current state of the game and the fact that this doesn't even seem like a priority for them is just grinding at this point.
Now I just want my money back since the game is borderline unplayable, since I am asking for this though I somehow doubt I will get a reply from ubi on here.
I have been on and off live chat for a while with ubi because I have also been having trouble connecting to their servers, they think it might be related and, apparently, passed word on to the development team.
Unfortunately they want me to port forward to the servers so now I have the mess about with my isp to get this done, which still probably won't work.
Let's be hones from what I have gathered talking to live chat is that instead of their QA teams looking into the issue, its our jobs to do their jobs for them, pretty shoddy to be honest.
After 5 hours of back and forth between different live chat agents they make it out to that the connectivity issues are user error not even thinking for 1 second that their servers could be the problem. It's funny really, it's my connections fault event hough I can play any other game just fine, wonder how that works...
@neversetdrums thankfully because we brought this to the attention of woofer, its been added to the list of known bugs and the devs are being informed.
There's a reason Woofer is so famous lol, if I'm right he also helps CohhCarnage with technical issues on ubisoft games, great representatives.
Thank you for the quick response woofer.
The info I have gotten so far is as follows.
My settlement is level 4, I have done a lot of side activities including quests.
I have finished chapter 2 and have also fully completed my first visit to asgard through the seer.
I would be happy to provide a video but I would need to send it through xbox if you can do that as my tablet is bugged and won't let me send clips, something about a memory issue. My gamertag is the same as on here.
I have tried relaunching the game, restarting the xbox and other troubleshooting tips but they do not work.
In terms of the connectivity issue I have tried troubleshooting to no avail, it seems to be server side from the error I was recieving. I have no issue using other online games and services and my Nat type is open.
Oh and one last thing, I noticed the berserker is also bugged in my settlement, I can interact with him but once I open the panel to recruit him the press A to recruit button is greyed out and won't work.
Hope this helps!
(If you can accept the clip through xbox I show as offline so send me a message and I will get back to you ASAP)
Oh and also woofer, the connectivity issue is the same as the one you had, but mine also stopped the store from functioning at one point.
@Ubi-Borealis just out of curiosity do you have an ETA for the update yet?
I purchased the game around 2 weeks ago and since the bug I have not been bothered to play it since I'm missing so much content.
If not, do you have any info on how I can request a refund, I don't want to sound like that guy but I have been waiting patiently and it just seems like its going to get dragged out longer and longer, I would rather have my money back and purchase the game again at a later date once it is more stable.
I hope you understand, I spent £59.99 on the game and I can't even play it because I'm missing so much content that it's just not fun to play.
Ubisoft seriously need to start communicating with Microsoft to get people their refunds, listen to this, I am being denied a refund because its over 2 weeks since purchase and I played for more than 2 hours.
OK so because I spent since the 16th trying to communicate with ubisoft about a game breaking bug, I'm getting shafted.
Also, who knows what's wrong with this 2 hour thing? Well I'll tell you.
NOT ALL BUGS HAPPEN WITHIN 2 HOURS
This is B. S.
And guess what, we still don't know when it will be fixed, so we have paid £59.99 or more, for a game with essentially no real support and what is essentially a no refund policy (and they know it too well)
I sense a class action lawsuit if this gets traction.
@eung232 yeah we are all well aware that woofer is trying his/her best here but the thing that frustrated me was because I tried to bring this issue to their attention instead of requesting a refund straight away and because it took so long, I am no longer able to get a refund.
Ubisoft say to go to Microsoft, Microsoft bots straight up deny the request, no ability to contact a human, no way to challenge, just straight up deny and permanently stops the user from requesting a refund on that game.
I got frustrated because the way I see it, I tried to help by bringing this to ubisofts attention and, even though I thought I was doing the right thing, I am now getting screwed over for it which I think is wrong on so many levels.
I'm happy to keep the game now that we know there is an update coming to fix the issue, but we still need to know the following desperately at this point @Ubi-Woofer
1) We need an eta on the update
2) we seriously need to know if we can keep our characters, imo this is the most important by a long shot because personally, if I can't keep a 50+ hour save, I'm sorry but I want my money back, I will lose all interest if this is the case as I simply do not have the time or energy to go through 50 hours of content again to get to where I was.
3)will we atleast get something for having waited so long since we have been completely left in the dust (if the above checks out)
Sorry if I missed anything.
