Hello. Since earlier today, so 1.2.1, I am getting spammed about the Mōdraniht tattoo set. If I leave them in the inventory I get a message every ten minutes (that is not a joke though the five minutes in the topic title is an exaggeration) that there's new unlocks. If I "unload" them at Tove's then the tattoos reappear in the inventory, with the individual items appear on-screen as well as the "new stuff" message. I am not doing anything to prompt this, when talking to Reda, when running from A to B, loading the game, there's no pattern. I suppose it must be related to autosave somehow.
I got the tattoo set in the Yule festival. I am not sure if I had to re-download it at Easter with the Godly pack or whatever it was called but I had the tattoo set "installed" at Tove's place after that and before the 1.2.1 update.
Do you really need a video of this?
I agree completely with the business about the small bit of the house. The game's excellent. The attacks are not warranted - if you really are that annoyed, go and do something else.
There is something about the approach from the support team, though - there are aspects that just do not make sense. Why the insistence on videos for everything? They even ask for videos of stuff that is not possible to reproduce (eg, the one about letters to Eivor that disappear - they've already disappeared). Constructive posts with videos are ignored where posts flaming Ubisoft are answered. Asking players stuff like "please tell us what that key is for" - how can Ubisoft not know that? Why do they expect players (who used one of the fifty or so keys once, weeks ago, where the name is ambiguous and the use of the key is robotic and not in any way memorable) to remember that?
Of particular note is that on many occasions when looking at this forum, it's easy to get the impression that people at Ubisoft do not play the game. For example, a simple description of a bug where all that it takes is for them to load the game and have a look or play for about 20 seconds; eg, if I stand and wait, catch a spear from a Standard Bearer and throw it back to kill him then raven looting doesn't work - just go to Winchester and try it out. If there's no shopkeeper in Fornburg or drinking game in Alrekstad, just load the game and try it, it's actually much simpler just to go there and see. There are not so many bugs that the time spent "on all of them" would be overwhelming.
The response from support is not all bad, though. Some responses are pretty quick and sometimes it's clear when they've really picked up the ball on a given issue. Many bugs have been fixed. Others are going to be fixed.
A bit (lot?) more patience from players and a bit more engagement from the support team and the support would go a whole lot more smoothly.
You wrote "can you please check if you installed your additional content with this link?" which, to me, is a clear implication that the customers might not have installed it properly.
This is wrong and I don't like that implication. I looked at "manage game" earlier today and it was not there.
Now it is. Clearly Ubisoft and/or Microsoft has changed something. Please change the story to, "Yes, something went wrong and it wasn't your fault."
Some messages from you guys are infuriating so, while I avoid it and it is not acceptable, I can see why there are some abusive posts. For example, you guys can't ask colleagues for a list of items in Reda's shop (that is just mad), you ignore some messages about bugs completely (no Great Aegis rune?), you don't update the "known issues" list with items that have been repeatedly posted, you claim that common-and-easy-to-find bugs can't be reproduced (enemies not throwing anything after a red "targeting" thing appears), you ask for screen shots in situations where you either have no idea what the game looks like or you take the position that you do not believe what customers tell you, you ask the customers what in-game items do ("please let us know what the key we put in the game does" - again, completely mad) and that's just off the top of my head with threads I've started or to which I've contributed.
Also, people are right to complain about the unfailing and flawless appearance of new cosmetic items (yes, they're just cosmetic, that there's a rune doing something is hardly substantial) when there are bugs lasting months in the game that can be sorted out extremely easily (just add a chest with three big flatfish, for crying out loud, until the blasted things can be put in the game properly).
One (very) mildly annoying point is finishers stop a "rune build-up". Being level 409 (and over 100 mastery on all branches of the tree) means fighting on "difficult" is easy. Anyway, to explain . . .
I have Varin's Axe and Suttungr's Claw equipped at the moment. Each has a diamond rune that has an additional "with each hit up to a maximum of 10" bonus. That looks good, four runes that give a bonus with each hit. However, it's uncommon to get to "10" because inevitably a finisher gets in the way. During the finisher animation the rune timer is running and of course the timer runs out, re-setting the rune counts to zero.
Here's a video showing the effect. When I kill the big guy with his flail the four timers can be seen dropping.
I suppose this could be intended behaviour but surely Eivor could decide "well, I'm not going to spend these seconds killing this one in a special way when there are others that still need to be killed", right?
The same type of crash to desktop has occurred to me several times previously, with 1.1.2 and I think earlier updates. Not necessarily in Ravensthorpe. Rare, though, maybe once in 50 hours of playing the game, but exactly the same pattern (as written below, screen freezes but background sound continues, sound cuts out, (then usually the next two items) sound comes back, screen goes black and sound goes off, then home screen). Tends to be during fights, I'd say, though not necessarily. XOS and XOX, Ultimate version with the +50% starter pack thing. I got far more crashes in Ravensthorpe with 1.2.0 on the XOS, I used the XOX to get through the brawl but then it crashed just running around in the camp after the three mini-quests had been completed.
If the decorations are relevant to the root cause, all sites are decorated, all the decorations are the guardian stone, the tree is the . . . blooming one I think. None from the Ostara shop, I haven't actually put those anywhere at any point.
Someone joked about fireflies, I have put around 107 in the pond.
I found a subreddit where there's a few looking for them
I believe that what is going on here is quite complicated. Here's a video showing some of it. Power 409, Petra's Arc. I loose an arrow into the environment deliberately to show the 15 limit is not the cause of the lack of looting.
Arrows that hit the environment (or perhaps an enemy shield) stick there and can be retrieved.
Arrows that hit but do not kill an enemy vanish.
Arrows that hit and kill an enemy stick in the body and can be retrieved.
When does Synin appear to auto-loot? Only when a dead guy is determined to be carrying loot, ie, when the silvery glowy thing appears.
What does Synin pick up? Two things. Firstly, anything that's part of the silvery glowy thing, treasure and/or arrows and/or keys. Secondly, IF Synin is close enough to an arrow stuck in the environment then it'll pick it up but this is uncommon.
As a note, if Synin does retrieve an arrow used to kill an enemy as per the previous paragraph then the model of the arrow remains in the body. This model stays permanently even if Eivor runs over it.
Any "environmental" arrow that Eivor gets close to gets picked up (and the model of the arrow disappears).
I just found this problem and might have something useful. Xbox One, version 1.1.1, with the +50% xp/silver starter pack thing.
I was at power 400 and 10 mastery on each of the skill trees. I had a manual save at the fast travel dock just inside Cambridgeshire, north-north-west of Halstead Outpost in Essex. From the save I "did" that outpost and then went on to the World Event "Mother" in Essex; when I did that the XP gain bumped me up a "level" and I got 2 Skill Points that I couldn't use. Removing the skills and auto-assigning did nothing.
I saved the game into slot 2, went back to the manual save in slot 1 and then did the two activities but the other way around. "Mother" took me to close to a level-up point. A couple of kills into Halstead Outpost and I got to the level-up point and then I got a Mastery Point rather than 2 Skill Points.

I just went there and on the first go there were multiple enemies failing to throw rocks at me. This is manual save 7 and "manual save cloud" at 20.51. I'll let it do one more cloud save and then save again, though I'm not sure how that fits with being in a "red" zone.
I recorded a clip, I'll put in a link. It's just done an auto-save at 20.55 local time. This is, at present, "autosave cloud" and autosave 5.
Manual save 8 is after running away from the area with the Reda drawing mission.
Thanks for responding. I have not had any problems with items in Reda's shop except for the Berserker Tailpiece on 8th May and the Berserker's Arsenal on 29th April. It's worth pointing out that the Berserker Helm on 20th April appeared in Reda's shop with a tick indicating I owned it.
One thing I found earlier when doing a "manage game" for ACV was that the Beowulf add-on had become un-installed. I didn't do that, somewhere between Microsoft and Ubisoft the item got removed. I'd already done it so it's not a problem but do have a look.
