The 1.04 patch did NOT fix this on PS4. When I was in the area, I did finally get a prompt about a nearby mission, which had not happened before. I had hopes. I went to the spot, and the fully manned longboat was in the road, gently rocking back and forth with the waves. Of the road. Again. Still. Ubba had the quest icon over his head. I could not interact with him. At. All. I can't even kill him. After this many hours, I'd gladly watch him burn since I can't do anything else with him. I guess I'll spend my time looking for map holes to glitch into the few treasure rooms i have left to access.
Also, why don't the legendary animal heads appear mounted in the longhouse? What's the point if I can't even look at it?
@maggotmel So far, I've tried:
None of that worked. I have the exact same setup, system and game version as my husband, but he doesn't have this bug and I do. He focused more on story line over exploration, and I focused more of exploration - getting those fast travel points. I particularly hate that this seems to be tied to not immediately following the next step in the questline because Sigurd and Ubba's Sleezeball Brother specifically tell you to go explore the town a little and meet Ubba when you're ready.
@recon4thcav
It's not in the notes because they don't know how to fix it other than telling people "oops, sorry, you're gonna have to start over. And next time an NPC tells you to go explore the town before the next mission step, don't do it!" I should clear all the side fetches just in time for Cyberpunk.
@petteflet88 Yeah, I saw that too. With so many people having that issue, you'd think it might matter. I think Fernatus has a point though - if the ship is in the road, then Ubba has the quest marker. If it's not there, he doesn't. Rather, if I deselect the quest, it removes the ship from the road.
Funny, they fixed the non-game breaker bug. Sort of. I still have dead, curled on their side zombie fish swimming around, but it no longer plays the creepy "juggling invisible boobs or a big fish" animation when Eivor catches one. It just doesn't play an animation anymore. https://www.reddit.com/r/AssassinsCreedValhala/comments/k1lsa5/it_was_this_big_fishing_animation_bug_aside_from/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3
@petteflet88
180 hours in. Cleared the map of almost everything not behind the quest bug. Having issues with animal parts not respawning when they only have one or two drop points, so I might not finish it before CP. No tears; just sad to know a once good series has died.
@petteflet88 Please do! I wish you eloquence and wit!
Oh hey, "Sons of Ragnar" is now listed in "issues under investigation". https://discussions.ubisoft.com/topic/76980/assassin-s-creed-valhalla-known-issues-updated-dec-3
Which sounds a lot like "hey, someone told us there is a problem we might need to look at" and not "we are currently working on figuring where we F-ed up so we can fix it".

@petteflet88 Yes. But they could still screw us over and make it basically reset your entire game back to that. I would not want to lose over 100 hours.
@petteflet88 Money. Money is how they just leave people like this. They've got our money; and unless a ton of people request refunds for an incomplete game, they have no reason to care to fix it. Though at this point, I'm wondering if publicity is the way to go. I'm betting most people can't get a refund because we trusted them to fix it and spent too much time farting around with fetches. But let a few game review sites start talking about what a buggy FUBAR this game is, and maybe they'll step up in the name of future profit.

@guest-7oxstewh
About 180 hours in, 160 of which were farting around trying to find a way around this bug and/or hoping they'd patch it. No Cola, No dialogue with Ubba. Also no fabric. I've killed all the legendary animals, got Excalibur, hit every map icon that wasn't quest dependant and just finishing up the hunting and fishing thing. I feel that UbbaSoft owes us a refund for trying to pass off a working game that's all just running around stabbing things while you hope they fix it.
@guest-7oxstewh I haven't even seen that one yet. Most of my order contracts give me info on other, dead order people. I'm going to start looking them up because I don't have any more clues.
@petteflet88 When the boat is in the road, he's standing looking out over the river. You can't interact with him either.
