IQ’s biggest problem right now is that she could only deal with defender gadgets with her handgun, meaning she could only do so with a direct line of sight to the gadget either horizontally or vertically. This severely limits her usability as not every objective site can give her the freedom to do so. It also makes her much less user-friendly and effective compared to other gadget-disabling ops like Thatcher, Kali, Twitch, Maverick etc.
However, with the new secondary impact EMPs she can make full use of her primary gadget to maximise the effects of the secondary EMPs. Plus this will give her a way to deal with gadgets she doesn’t have a direct line of sight to, much like when she still has frag grenades. This would drastically improve her usability and effectiveness in gadget-disabling.
It's doable on console FPS games. The best example is Apex Legends, which had a really well designed chat box ever since it came out in 2019. It is accessible via the touchpad on Playstation or View button on Xbox. It also have text-to-speech functions, which I understand is coming later this year for PC only.
Even if the text-to-speech isn't coming with the text box, it is still invaluable in encouraging more communication on console. Right now, due to the need to acquire a headphone with an on-off switch and prevalence of party chats, it is very hard to find people communicating, even in Ranked. Having a chat box encourages people to communicate more by providing an alternative form of communication, and allow non-party players to communicate with those in party chats.
Plus, we know the function is there on the console version, from past bugs that accidentally made it accessible, it's just that it has been disabled. But please consider enabling it to the console version along with the suitable key bind.
There's been complaints as to how long it takes to find a game in less-populated gamemodes and servers, and the "Estimated Time" is near useless: it's never accurate, and it doesn't help players in whether it's worth it to keep queuing, restart the queue or play another gamemode.
Please consider replacing it to "Players in Queue" instead. At least it is accurate and allows players to make a choice as to whether it's worth keep waiting for queue for another gamemode.
I’m playing on PS4 East Asia server and it take couple minutes just to find a match in casual, and from several to over 15 minutes to find a match in Ranked. It’s not fun to wait in the lobby for one-quarter of an hour just to play a short 10min game.
I know crossplay coming next year can alleviate this issue somewhat, but I think some additional solutions are needed:
Something drastic needs to be done, or else players would rather play other games that gets them into the action faster such as COD, Battlefield and Apex.
