What have you done? Other than the issue of dealing with spam. There was nothing wrong with the forum as it was! It was simple & easy to use. I could see all unread threads at a glance. This is ugly & I've got to scroll through stuff that used to be stickied in one small section. So much info on the game gets released on various & all social media outlets. Are you trying to drive people away from the forum? I don't have any social media accounts. Other than youtube, the forum is the place I rely on for info on the game.
As part of Ubisoft's 'Happy Holidays' giveaway. They are giving players who haven't already unlocked Bayeks outfit in ubiclub/connect, a chance to claim it NOW!
So Ubisoft is giving away free rewards each day from December 14th - Dec 18th!
As I said in the title, Todays reward is the Bayek outfit, as well as a 'Seafarer Settlement pack'! You have to go to the ubisoft website & click on the 'Happy Holidays' link to claim rewards. They won't appear in your game straight away (I'm not sure when they'll appear)?
I don't know at what time this offer went live, so if you want it, claim it now! There was no publicity about this as far as I'm aware, I just happened to catch a jorraptor vid on youtube about half an hour ago that mentioned it. Pass on the word to anybody that has the game (if you want). Because I guarantee, that in coming days, weeks & months to come there will be posts complaining about 'Locked content'!
Check the website each day for the next 4 days, because new rewards still to come. Whether I actually use any of this stuff, I'll wait and see. I just take everything the game has to offer.
@ubichem I can appreciate a lot of people have put a lot of work into creating the new forum. I used to visit the ubi website once in a blue moon. While I was there I'd take a gander at the forum, see what players were talking about. Maybe read a couple of posts then exit without contributing. But I only really started using the forum regularly about a year & a half, maybe 2 years ago. So I can't really remember how it was before. I just think up until today, it didn't seem broken! Each thread was a slim bar, with the title, thread creator, & name of last post. Without scrolling I could view something like 15 threads at a time.
@Aloninor It's not harsh judgement, it's my honest opinion/first impression. But I'll always give things a try, & if I'm wrong & it turns out to be a better service. I'll be honest about it. I'm not one of those people that forms an opinion & digs their heels in. Won't budge.
@capnkel There's nothing that impressive about the norse time in britain, they're just one more group in a series of invaders/conquerers/boat people/refugees/settlers, that left a footprint. Then the british would later go on & dish out the same crap to other nations around the world. There's nothing great, or impressive about any of it. "Ah, but what about the place names, 'thorpe' & towns, or villages that end in 'by', or the fact that a day of the week is named after the almighty Thor! 'Thursday"?
The norse, or vikings travelled, explored & traded, they made some great weapons, their art & carvings were brilliant, & they told great stories about the exploits of their gods to their kids over the fire, & when they had sufficient numbers for an attack (great heathen army), they were 'a force to be reckoned with' (cliche - but I just can't heap praise on those dogs, man). I cannot stand this tide that has come across lately in TV, Film, & games, including Ubisoft & more disapointingly the team that were given the green light to go ahead with this unfortunate 'AC' game, have ridden along with this idea that the vikings were misrepresented in the history books. Just to say it out loud, THE VIKINGS WEREN'T BRAVE, COURAGEOUS WARRIOR'S! THEY WERE CHANCERS, OPPORTUNISTS & SHIGHTBAGS! They did travel from their homeland to discover & in search of a better life, they traded. But don't give them too much credit for the lands that they conquered! The norse/Norwegians, knew the North & North West Scottish island groups. The Shetland & Orkney Islands. The Inner & Outer Hebrides. If the vikings wanted to 'Take Scotland' (although at the time Scotland as a country didn't yet exist) They had a massive coastline on the NorthEast coast of britain which would have been so much easier to reach than travelling around the treacherous waters of the Northern coast. So why didn't they invade the East coast of Scotland (inhabited by the Picts)? Probably because they knew what they were up against., & although the Northern Isles were Pictish lands. The inhabitants of these islands were cut off from any kind of support or reinforcement! You see, the whole of mainland britain, although peace pacts would be made from time to time, there was always a threat of invasion from neighbouring tribes. Scotland has hundreds, if not thousands of Lochs (lakes), & a way of reducing the threat of overnight attacks from nearby enemies, was to build houses on stilts off the shores of the Lochs, these were called Crannogs. (You can see an example on the SouthEast entrance to 'Bomere Lake' in Sciropescire, in the game). And no doubt many that wanted out & away from the threat of attack would have felt safer living on an island away from the mainland, & as I mentioned previously, they were far away from the threat of mainland attack, they were also far from their support. So, the idea that vikings conquering these islands paints them as superior has to be taken with a snow shovel fulla salt. I don't particularly care that much about them raiding monasteries (although, not raised christian, I was fed christian bumf throughout my childhood, but I'm still not a christian!). Vikings (as many portray them as being the ultimate baderses) hitting a monastery, is akin to a bunch of teenage/early twenties skinheads raiding an old peoples home to rob them of their 'Prize Bingo' Prizes, & their evening pudding! The norse didn't invade & conquer. The vast majority were let in (because they were known traders & probably trusted). As for them not being known for stealth. Well it was a few centuries later, that the Thistle became the Flower of Scotland, due to a viking raiding party taking off their boots to sneak up on a Scottish camp who were asleep in the early hours, only to step on the Thistle, their [censored] ersed screeches alerting the Scots & the attackers were put to rest. As I said earlier, the Film, TV & games media is responsible for completely rewriting, falsifying history & all these clowns that have watched some of these shows, movies & played these games feeling pride that, I am a product of this proud race need to give themselves a good hard headbutt against the nearest hard surface, to waken themselves up! As for Thursday? The place names? I reckon they were let go, because the pagan festivals continued after christianisation. There probably wasn't anybody that could be bothered setting up a committee to change the name of a day of the week.
Also, Eivor isn't an Assassin. She was given a Hidden Blade, was talked to for probably less than 2 mins & shown some dummies. Later was shown the leap of faith, was asked for Order trinkets by Hytham, but Eivor isn't an assassin! I savoured those moments when I entered those Hidden Ones Bureau's. Before I interacted with any of the notes,. I took time to light every light source in the rooms, & the lead up. I burnt every cobweb away, because I thought, or hoped that Eivor would be bringing these Bureaus back into daily use, by maybe recruiting Assassin's & learning/training to become one herself. But alas, it wasn't to be. What a waste! & Ubisoft, don't bother now! Just like coming to Scotland. You absolutely shet on us. I don't want you coming here as an afterthought. Stay away. My apologies for the devs that did a great job on what was asked of them. But year 2 on this game is polishing the turd.
Access the Animus just released this video 'Cracking the ISU Numbers'
@holyhalf-dead I preferred the Olympian store in Odyssey. You could gamble 20 ori at a time on a vase, & I got a pretty good return overall. I'd usually get 1, sometimes 2 Legendary items per week. Also because it was a truly engaging game, I didn't mind buying either cheap stuff, or partially owned sets cheap in the sales. So within 13 months of playing AC Odyssey, I owned everything in the store. But Valhalla, I still have the 300 helix credits I got at the start of the game, & I wouldn't dream of spending more money on this game.
Woohoo! I just found one on the farm!
So I went to the farm, (I don't know if this matters) but before I got there there waqs one of those Q'?' traveller guys, so I have nothing left on the map to clear, but I paid him anyway, then all options were greyed out, but 'Mysteries' was in white letters. so selected mystery, then the reminder to check my map popped. There was nothing on the map, so onto the farm, looked around then ran around in front of enemies & got killed (after making a quick save).
So I respawned & killed them all, had a look around, pressed Odins sight & got that Green glow you get when following clues. So it was East of the farm building just outside the broken walls, & sure enough, I got the interact option & got the mission "Avenge (PS logo) lzp_lzp". Then (PS logo) lzp_lzp has fallen in battle. It is up to you to avenge them. Then below the quest icon Find and kill the perpetrator(s). similar to AC Origins.
So as I said I'm not sure, but perhaps paying the experienced Traveller unlocks a nearby victim quest. Just a thought?
BTW you get 100xp for finding the killer, It's showing up in ubiConnect that I've got all this weeks challenges & 'Hall of the Slain' is showing as 1/10, so I'll try looking out for more travellers, see if it's a thing.
EDIT: I forgot to say, I'm playing on ps4 Pro.
@cell1e Access The Animus had early access to the dlc as well, & they released a tour of Ireland earlier. Just in case the link doesn't work, you can search AccesstheAnimus. 'Assassins Creed Valhalla - Wrath of the Druids - A Tour of Ireland and it's Locations and Biomes'. It looks great, some impressive Hill Forts & there's a Synin's eye view of spoiler
Lol, only kidding!
I was browsing through youtube, after my dinner, & discovered 'Access the Animus' had released a new video, which I wasn't expecting, as they just released a vid 2 days ago. But I really wasn't expecting this!?
I won't explain, I'll try & post the video, & just watch (it's only 1 min 27sec long)
I watched an 'Access The Animus' video earlier. The vid discussed leaks about dialogues referring to & including Kass, found in the game files, & supposedly features the beautiful 'Isle of Skye' on the West coast of Scotland.
What do you think?

@thenorfolkian It doesn't specify which part of Italy. The comp website simply reads as "Collect points each week for a chance to walk in Ezio's footsteps with the grand prize: a trip for two to Italy!"
I don't get the whole, 'cosplay thing'! Ubi couldn't pay me enough to do that Lol! But if dressing up as Ezio is your thing, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you
@spirantcrayon22 I'm not really sure where I went wrong! Because your answers look pretty much the same as mine. With the exception of the Synin Q. I remember some of the interviews/marketing chats McDevitt & Ismail did in the early days before the game was released, & I'm sure it was Ashraf that stressed the meaning of the birds name, & it stuck with me!
I started a game of orlog to check out the god favour/runes, & they check with your answer! I opened up the skill tree, & found the node. I assume that when this weeks challenge times out, there may be a sheet with the correct answers. Highlighting where we went wrong?
@SpirantCrayon22 could you have answered all the questions without owning the game, & having the game open, as you answered? Because I know I couldn't (I'd be lucky to get 6/10)! So come September, how are console players meant to answer similar detailed questions relating to AC1? Surely there must be an AC1 remake/remaster being released by the 1st week of September?
@thenorfolkian Apologies for the late response! I began writing a reply several hours ago, but parked it, with the intention of completing it later. However, as happens so often for me on this crappy forum. My post just magically deleted itself!?
Anyhow, I checked the site again, & it doesn't matter too much what you score! It seems that each point you score gives you one entry into the weekly draw! I don't know if every weekly prize is an ornymint? But your points each week also get added together for a grand prize, which is a trip to Italy!
@thenorfolkian Yeah, I did the quiz, & unfortunately, I only got 9/10, which at the time (when very few players would have even been aware of the test thing!), so I was ranked around 330-ish, although by now, I must be outside the top 1000 Lol! I can't see anyway to find out which of the questions I got wrong! spoiler. Either way, the prize was a (female Eivor statuette/figurine/dust collector/tatty ornament!). So, I'm a wee bit irked with myself for not getting 10/10, I probably should have been more patient, & taken it a bit more seriously. This competition is primed for players that took the game up in recent weeks/months, but given the phrasing of the last question? I can't remember choices/decisions I made over 18 months ago!
So, I've avoided being in the pool of 1000's for the nasty eivor ornament. But I have a feeling that cumulatively, there may be bigger prizes, yet to come?! Because if there ain't, then this whole 15 year (out of nowhere Extravaganza), just looks like another 'Del Boy/Arthur Daley' sales racket, to get newcomers to buy older games. Dressed up as a celebration, & thanks to players! I have all the older AC games, but I'm not keen on being shepherded into playing a specific game each week for the next 3 months! I have deliberately stayed away from these games for a while, because the longer I stay away, the more enjoyment I get out of playing older games again! But I have to say, that the only exception is, 'The Original', 'ASSASSINS CREED'! I'm currently playing on PS4 pro, & although I played all the older games on PS3. Since upgrading to PS4, I've bought the ps4 digital versions of the older games (with that one exception of ***The Original ***Assassin's Creed***, it's still the only unavailable, older game). These New Tests, on players knowledge of the series aren't an AC episode of Mastermind! Because, some questions, were so minutiae specific, that the only way to answer them was to have the game open, & look through the in-game menu's!
So, if the future Test's/Trials, follow in a similar format. Then, It doesn't seem like too much of a stretch, to suggest, that either an Altair - Assassin's Creed Remaster, or Remake will be released before the end of these Trials in September!!!
@ubi-thrupney Is there really a team investigating this issue? I thought support for Odyssey was cut in 2019, even with the ACV crossover content (which I only got round to playing a couple of weeks ago). That was released months ago!
So when @azullFR mentioned the ACO store bug in the ACV forum, I mentioned my experience there rather than here, anyways, I'll just copy/paste what i wrote here:
I jumped back into Odyssey a couple of weeks ago, & had that same problem. But I had over 2000 spare Ori. So I just opened a load of jars. All I seemed to get were epic items (purple), which was strange, because I used to get a fair return from the jars, but after every few jars, I kept getting error messages. A couple of times when I exited Sargon, it turned out my inventory was full. So I waddled round to the Blacksmith & offloaded a lot of gear. I went back to Sargon the following day & bought another load of jars. The same thing happened again, I was only getting epic (purple items) not once did I ever see a Gold Legendary item! I can't remember at what point I decided to check the store, I didn't go into owned items, but I noticed that there were fewer weapons from the new weapon pack available for sale! So, as I said, I had loads of ori to burn, & kept on opening jars, then checked the helix store again later. There were no more items available for sale. I went to Owned items & clicked get for the unbuyable Sargon weapon, the bow & the 3 other melee weapons! I recorded my visits to Sargon. I didn't watch them until a few days later, & I can only assume that as I was trying to figure out what was going on, I wasn't paying attention to the screen, because I now noticed there were in fact on screen notifications telling me that these weapons were available to claim in my inventory!
So the error messages I got after opening so many jars, which I thought at the time related to my inventory being full. Were possibly relating to the fact that I had just pulled a Legendary Gold weapon, but for some reason the system was unable display the item!?

@spirantcrayon22 The fourth upgrade is 1200 Foreign Supplies, I already had over 600 in my inventory to pay for the first two upgrades. I had to visit 2 rivers to get over the 800 target, & the next upgrade is 1200! Each chest on my first river paid out 60 supplies each. Then the 2nd river dropped just 50 supplies per chest. The cap of 600 supplies per Raid is a pain also. Because once you reach the cap, there's usuall 2 or 3 more locations I could have hit while I was there.
@arni-GX They created River Raid Mode for reasons known only to the dev's. They created a large impressive open world, with several monasteries & Raid sites the length & breadth of the map! But for some reason, they only want or require players to raid those locations once only & the chests stay empty!? But they created this RR Mode, & they just want players to keep clocking up the hours on this pointless mode. I'm putting in the hours, just because I want it done! Ubisoft get no prizes for year 2 content.
@randelia Were the meteors at 2 different spots? Or was it 2 meteors at the same location? How far from the 'Thieves Couple', were the meteors & in which direction?
@randelia & @SpirantCrayon22. My goto for ubiconnect drinking challenges is in lunden! It's at the governer's villa! It's a 4 pint one, which suits me, because sometimes I log into the game late at night, while I'm actually drunk, or half cut! So having a 4 pint challenge as opposed to 3 gives me a chance to recover if I miss the mark (although even when I'm pished, I can beat that guy!).
I don't know if the biggest hang up some players have with the drinking challenges is the fact that like me. When I first came across these challenges. Is that when you encounter them, in the first few days of playing the game. The devs (compared with AC Odyssey), were so f***in stingy with the resources. But, the idea that with what little silver we had accumulated in the early hours/days. We had a chance to double our money on an unknown challenge! So if I accept the challenge. I have to win/I cannot lose! So after 2 or 3 losses, I decided to skip the drink challenges until I had loads of silver, & the idea of losing didn't matter. With the pressure off, the challenge just got easier. But I have to say, that if I ever play another AC game again, I sincerely hope they don't bring this, or any similar crap into future games!!
