@raybabbitt1981 I'm sorry pal, I don't know how the xbox store works. Do you have a games library section, or a drop down menu under the game, when you press the xbox button (that's if the xbox has such a button). I Didn't use the Helix store. I'm sorry I can't be more helpful. We really need some moderators or support staff on this forum!
Anyhow, I've got to go. Ireland awaits. Best of luck everyone!
@baenorth I remember when the dlc's dropped in AC Odyssey, there were a lot of complaints from pc players because they had to wait a bit longer than console players for the content to drop. But I have to say the communication on this dlc is poor, & what's more. In the old Odyssey forum, there was always moderators on hand to provide information. Whatever happened to UBICosmos?
@cell1e Access The Animus had early access to the dlc as well, & they released a tour of Ireland earlier. Just in case the link doesn't work, you can search AccesstheAnimus. 'Assassins Creed Valhalla - Wrath of the Druids - A Tour of Ireland and it's Locations and Biomes'. It looks great, some impressive Hill Forts & there's a Synin's eye view of spoiler
@smrtiak-svk Yeah I was just about to make a post about this. I thought that ubisoft would have sent out an email with some sort of trailer for the WotD DLC by now. So I switched my tv over to youtube & spotted an upcoming event from jorraptor, in about 15 mins or so, he will be showing spoiler free gameplay. I don't think it's discrimination. All players are getting the dlc from the 13th May. Ubi have obviously made a decision to preview the game this way. Usually with any previews, along with jorraptor, there are usually at least another 2 or 3 other youtubers that get early access. If it turns out that he is the only one that gets early access, then that doesn't really bother me either way. He's only getting the access because he's broadcasting it.
There was another thread on here last week, which suggested exchanging 'Foreign Supplies for Silver'. I started writing a response, I didn't complete my post, so I parked it with the intention of coming back to it, & for some reason, the little red post icon at the bottom right of my screen just disappeared? So I'll start again. This thread was created in February when Reda only had 3 weekly items + 1 daily item for sale. It's been increased to 6 weekly items + the dailies. Although the dailies are usually settlement cosmetics, but over the 7 days, there's usually at least 1 weapon or armour piece up there. So I don't see Vagn offering Helix store items now! And I doubt if they would give up store items for 1000 FS (maybe a tattoo or something small).
Doing the daily & weekly Reda challenges + the weekly UbiConnect challenges nets a max 120 opals per week. So a piece of armour at Reda's this week costs 120 opals (although I'm sure they only cost 100 opals before the update last week, I may be wrong though?). In AC Odyssey, we got 10 orichalcum per daily quest & 40 ori for each of the 2 weeklies, bringing in 150 ori per week. Then if you top the merc table, you got an extra 10 percent, so a total of 165 ori pw! It made it easier for players to build up a stash of currency, so we could buy gear pieces when they arrived at Sargon's. But in Valhalla, we have to literally ignore what's for sale for a number of weeks in order to have a stockpile of opals to work from.
If the dev's want to make RR replayable, unless the artists have designed at least half a dozen gear sets to hide around the maps, then let us trade Foreign supplies for Opal to make collecting viable. I don't expect them to throw opals around like confetti, but how about:
1200 FS in exchange for 10 opal
4800 FS - 50 opal
8,000 FS - 100 opal
12,000 FS - 200 opal
This probably seems like a lot of work for little reward. But at least it would be something players had a bit of control over our chances of getting a piece of armour to help complete a set. Don't get me wrong. There's nothing in the Helix store that I have identified as an item, or set that I actually want, or need to get! I'm just talking about something to collect, for the sake of collecting. I got the winged horse from Reda the 1st time it appeared for sale, & I have to say that it was the only thing for sale that I'm glad i got. Just cut your losses & give players a chance to acquire the gear that shows up at Reda each week. Because if you dangle that in front of us without the means to buy it will not make me reach for my wallet. Your gear can stay in the store!
Edit: BTW I should add that I was pished by the time I finished this post, so I apologise in advance, because I'll probably be out for the count before anybody reads it.
@torfinr No we don't understand these speculations in 2 different ways. I mean pessimism or optimism? Speculation is open ended. People have been able to find files that hint at something we don't know about. To me it just looks like the daily reda quests. I checked my trophies for AC Odyssey DLC Episodes, & the time stamps for gaining the 1st trophy to the last in each episode was just over 24 hours (real time, not game time). So I can't remember how long I played each episode before the 1st trophy popped, but I'd imagine it was probably a couple of hours. So let's say that each of the 3 episodes were around 36 hours to play. We're probably going to be in Ireland for minimum 4.5 days, so it's likely that those files refer to reda quests, to save players having to leave & go back to England in order to complete dailies at Reda. But I have to question your optimistic view. I've noticed some of your recent posts, where you just seem to hate this game. I have my own reasons for not loving this game. But I won't go into that just now, because I'm not one of those serial moaners. But seriously, your optimistic view is to have , "a lot of "new" daily quests for xp/silver"? Didn't you start playing the game around launch time? Do you not have enough 'xp/silver'? You don't seem to be looking for much.
@la_frankie Since the launch of the game & the new stats section in UbiConnect. All kills were recorded in stats page including taking down a straw dummy! If you go to UbiConnect, select Stats, then 'Weapon Usage'. There's a line that reads, "Here are all the warriors you have slain and sent to Valhalla". I checked this months ago. It's not just enemies, or predatory animals. I don't know about civilian npc's, but, eels, perch, puffins, cows, sheep, squirrels & even strawmen are being "sent to Valhalla"!
I think the 1st week of the connect challenges required killing with light shields, so I tried it out on the 4 dummies in the settlement (only because I was adamant I wouldn't play the game using shields), & it worked, but most other weapons challenges, I used against enemies in the world. Using dummies for assassination challenges made it easy, when the challenge was 50 or 100. But you get no xp or loot from dummies! And the Community Challenges, where you had to assassinate a jisillion enemies, was a step too far! There's no way any player could get any satisfaction of continually doing the rounds with those Norwegian Dummies. I tried, but, Lincoln is my go to for assassination runs, (although there are a few smaller locations that are just made for assassin cleanouts).
I noticed Jorraptor put out a video earlier that mentioned the strawman change, & found a new location. I'm surprised, because for the past couple of months, I've been going to the 'BBB' underground 'Fight Club' for my weekly challenges. There are 25 guys, bare knuckled & bare chested, which means they have no weapons, or armour, but they want to fight! If you forgot where it is, it's in Ledecesterscire. If you walk into the centre of the longhouse in the Ravensthorpe settlement, looking straight ahead at Eivor's bedroom. If you look left & right & you are parallel with the elongated fire-pit to the left & the jarls throne on the right, then you need to take one small step forward & don't move! Then select map. There's a black cross which is directly South over the Trent river from Wenloch Abbey. So select that cross, then exit map. If you look at the navi-bar, your highlighted spot should be exactly 2000m from where you're standing (I know a pic or video would be better, but that's how I got my head around clarifying the location on my first couple of visit's).
This weeks was better than most, because I got a double hit. when you first approach these guys, they are packed like sardines. They don't come straight at you. You have to assassinate the 1st one, then they spread out & fully respawn, because there are so many of them, even though they are unarmed, you are (although for a short time) constantly having to dodge, because no matter where you are in this underground room, you constantly come up against red or amber guys. But as I said, with this weeks challenges, 1st you floor these guys for the bare-fist challenge, then you just equip the flails, & use heavy (R2 on ps4) attack, rather than R1 light attack to avoid assassinating them, & you get numbers for the Bare-fisted & Flail challenges. So 2 for 1.
@littleweasel01 I'm playing on ps4 pro & I've got the same problem. I've been to the tattoo hut 3 times & each time it clears the tatts from my inventory. Only for it to reappear in inventory when I fast travel. I'm also getting the notification that autosave failed, restart to fix. So I tried closing the game down, logging back in, & I keep getting these notifications. It's everytime I fast travel, catch a fish, kill an enemy or complete the reda quests. My quick saves & manual saves are titled 'Data Corrupt'! I've no idea how to fix this.
So the UbiConnect challenges reset in just over 2 hours time. The Community Challenge this past week, was 'win 350,000 Orlog games'! I think the target was reached yesterday, so any players that want to pick up an additional 10 opals, just need to win 1 orlog game to claim. But there's only 2 hours left before the challenges reset.
@jcar4327 It looks like we'll finally beat the weekly Community Challenge this week! So the target this week is 'Recruit 350,00 Jomsvikings'. The total is currently just over 349,000. So I reckon the target will be reached within the next couple of minutes. Spend 100 silver recruiting a jomsviking at any pier/harbour/port (but not at the new jomsviking barracks) & get 10 opals.
@JorRaptor put out a video this week, saying that if everybody that viewed his video, recruited just 5 joms, then the target would be broken. I'm not saying it was jorraptor viewers alone that made it beatable this week, but it helps put some perspective on these huge numbers.
But they should really rethink these community challenges. Because walking up to a joms & a simple 'Hold' to pay 100 silver is so much easier than doing continual drinking, or Orlog games. Those sort of challenges are only possible either within the first month of the games release where loads of players are engaged. Massive Assassination challenges shouldn't feature when one-shot assassination is bugged.
The new wonky fish are Halibut. Since the start of the game they swim flat (horizontally). But if you look at the position of their eyes, they're obviously meant to swim through the water vertically. I don't know if this new 'twist' affects the small halibut, but I caught a few regular & large over the past couple of days since the new patch & both those sizes have that weird bend & they skim or float above the water. I can only assume the dev's have done something to them in order to distinguish halibut from Flatfish. So proof to those doubters on the megathread that say the devs aren't trying to fix the missing mackerel & flatfish.
I have photos but I can't upload them, I get an error message about dimensions being too big. Sorry.
I don't know if it's been posted already, but I can't see it in titles. But for any players that want to use their free '300 helix credits', there's a sale in the Helix store right now, & is available for another 4 days, 19 hours. There aren't massive discounts, but if you have 2 or 3 gear pieces from Reda, you might be able to get the rest of the set at a discount with your free credits.
not sure why you are spamming that repley everywhere.
@asgardian02 Not sure why you felt the need to start this thread? As it was already mentioned in another thread! Everybody playing the game gets that message! Are you just being a greeby, narcissistic, little troll?
@karloz1995 What platform are you on? I'm on ps4, & I got all the stuff in the pack, including the 300 opal. I wish this pack had dropped a few hours earlier, because although I'm not that bothered about skins. I don't like the raven, & Reda had the Bald Eagle for sale for 150 opal up until this weeks reset. It just seemed a bit steep to buy at the time.
So the 300 opal, & the Altair outfit was cool, & very welcome. But I just don't get why all the yule gear, tatts & ornaments were included? My gear was downgraded as well. The set wasn't available to me immediately after the patch, so I logged out & back in. When I logged in again, I got refunded a load of resources (although that may be down to the fact that I had previously loaded an older save & had to upgrade the Moonlight Axe & Spartan Bow more than once).
So I think a fix will come, but I think that including a set of rewards that most players already have has led to unnecessary problems,
I read in this thread a few days ago, where someone commented on the Blue/Green Quest Marker, by the wooden statues of Thor, Odin & Tyr., about 600 metres E/NE of Ravensthorpe. As of the new update, it turns out the blank note now reads
"Shrine to the All-Father
We grant you these offerings so you may protect our travels, be they on water or on land."
But there'e no option to make an offering. I can't remember if there ever was an option to do that earlier in the game or not? Either way, it's not that interesting.
@Asgardian02 I maybe wrong, & if I am, then I apologise! But weren't you one of those guys that complained about not being able to equip the Vinland gear, outside of Vinland? Didn't you think it was a cool looking gear set? Anyhow, I've got the Vinland gear look over the Raven set & I think I'll keep it for a while, so it's ok as far as I'm concerned & 50 silver per item is peanuts, right?
Also the Ostara festival doesn't begin until this thursday I think? READ THE PATCH NOTES!
@asgardian02 Do you have a screenshot or some video showing all the items in your inventory as fully upgraded? I'd present that evidence to customer support. Because I dare say players will complain about being ripped off, but without evidence, I don't think there's anything that can be done about it, other than grinding or buying the required resources again.
