Thank you for reporting this issue with the inverted functions of the X and O buttons in the Japanese version of Assassin's Creed Valhalla on PS5. I sincerely apologise that we did not reply to this thread sooner.
Would it be possible for any of you to provide a video showing the inputs being made, and the inverted controls on-screen, such as from a mobile phone? This would help us to demonstrate the issue to the developers, and ensure that it is fully understood when investigation takes place.
In the meantime, one workaround I can recommend that may work for you all is to remap the buttons locally on the PS5 while playing Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Within the console's accessibility settings, you should find the option "Custom Button Assignments", and there can swap the inputs of the X and O buttons temporarily while you play. Afterward, you can revert the settings as not to interfere with any of your other PS5 games.
Please let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns in the meantime.
@maildotcoi, please also refrain from bumping threads, as per the warning I have issued to you. While I fully appreciate the desire to have your issue addressed, we are working through all posted threads as quickly as we can, and bumping is explicitly against our forum rules. I have deleted all posts which were for the explicit purpose of bumping the thread as such. Thank you for your understanding.
Hi @wokke96! Thanks for posting here on the forums about your issue with unlocking the "Slam Master" trophy in Assassin's Creed Valhalla. I noticed you tagged this thread with the PlayStation 5 tag - were you playing the PlayStation 4 version of the game previously at any point, or on any other platform? Or have you completed the full set of flytings in the PlayStation 5 version of the game?
Are you able to provide a screenshot showing your charisma level from your character information screen? This will help me to get an idea of how many flytings you have completed, and whether there are any left to do. You've mentioned being unable to interact with Alvis in the settlement - did you complete the flyting with him originally in Fornberg?
As a last question - have you definitely done the flytings in Asgard and Jotunheim?
Hey there @simmo0659 - thank you for your reply! I am sorry to hear that you're unable to interact with the corpse in order to initiate the fight with Regan.
Can you please clarify if you have completed the region Regan is based in already? (East Anglia). Can you also provide a video showing that the icon is not available on the map, and that the corpse cannot be interacted with on the battlefield? Thank you!
Hey there @locutusreyborg, thank you for sharing your report here in the thread. Can you please confirm the following -
- That you are looting small resource chests in late-game areas where fabric can be found, such as Sciropscire, Eurvicscire, Hamtunscire or Glowecestrescire?
- That fabric is not available to purchase from your settlement vendor when the settlement is fully upgraded to Level 6?
- That you do not already have the required fabric in your inventory?
It would be helpful, if all of the above conditions are met, if you could provide us with the following:
- A screenshot showing that your inventory contains fewer than the five pieces of fabric needed for Dobby's Altar
- A video showing you looting multiple small rounded chests in an eligible region, with no fabric being looted from any
Thank you, and please let us know if there is anything additional that we can assist with in the meantime.
Sorry for any confusion, @garbo3 - what I meant was, it seems the report we forwarded from yourself was after the deployment of TU 1.2.1 on April 27th. So your save file would have been from after the update. However, if you have additional evidence of the issue on the latest game version (TU 1.2.1) that you would like us to share with the developers, we're happy to do so as any and all videos / images are helpful to compile.
Never call a question silly! Better to ask than never know the answer!
Hey @garbo3! I can see that we already passed forward a video and Cloud Save file from yourself as part of our report. I believe these were captured after the TU 1.2.1 update, so we should be fine for additional files from yourself currently. However, if you do have further examples of the issue occurring on the latest game version, and would be happy to provide them anyway, we'd welcome additional videos to pass forward. Thank you for asking!
Thank you for the alternative video link, @alexaetm. I also apologise for misunderstanding - I thought what you meant previously was that you had failed to add a hyperlink to your image in order to lead to your video, not that you wanted me to type out the link from your image as an alternative. This is why I recommended using an alternative site, as it also means that your links in future won't be blocked as spam.
I've watched your video through and can see that you had immediately approached Arth after handing in the final items to get the final delivery task. Since then, have you also tried fast-travelling to another region and back, or entering and exiting the Animus, before returning to Arth and asking him about the final task again?
Other players have reported that it takes a little time for the next delivery to become available, so I would recommend trying some alternative activities and then returning to Arth after a couple of in-game days to see then whether he presents you with the final delivery task. If he does not, please provide a new video showing you completing at least one of the steps I've outlined above, and then I can pass both of these to the developers in a new investigation. Thank you!
@auridulis - Thank you for your report, and for providing various video clips showing the issue with rain occurring upon loading a save or fast travelling between regions. I'll pass these on to the developers now! I also merged your various posts into one to keep all of the information you provided together here in the thread for ease of reading.
@SteveZ_Pun - As directed by my colleague @Ubi-Borealis, please start a new thread for this issue and include all of the information they requested in that thread rather than here. We want to keep this megathread dedicated to the issues with the weather always being rain upon loading a save or fast-travelling between regions. Thank you!
Hey @AlexAetM, I don't think the link you were trying to use with the image has worked unfortunately, as even going in to edit your post, I couldn't see one.
My recommendation would be to upload your video to an alternative hosting website such as YouTube instead, and sharing the link here. A YouTube link also has the benefit of automatically embedding here on Discussions, so we can all watch the video right here within the thread. Thanks!
Hello again everyone - please accept my apologies that I did not reply here sooner!
This issue with "In Dreams" was marked as resolved as part of TU 1.2.1, so as above, we would really like to hear whether the fix has worked for those affected. @gamedude72, it is great to hear that this issue appears to be resolved for you! Thank you for letting us know.
To everyone else - please continue to update us as to whether this issue is resolved for you all as well.
We'll keep investigating if / as needed if the issue persists for anyone, and reopen the investigation on the developers' side as well if we can gather video evidence. Thanks!
Thank you for sharing your feedback regarding the presentation of Christianity / religion in Assassin's Creed Valhalla. It is appreciated that you have all taken the time to come to the forums to discuss this topic, and in such detail.
I would also like to remind you all that you should treat other forum users with respect and courtesy. Even if disagreeing with another player's ideas or feedback, or if not of practicing the same beliefs or faiths, please do not insult them, or be disrespectful. We want these forums to be a welcoming space for all of our players to participate in and enjoy.
We had raised feedback regarding a reset / restart quest option to the developers before, however it has been confirmed that such an option will not be implemented in the future. Here is what was said:
Due to the structure of quests within the game, a "reset/restart quest" feature is not feasible at this stage of development. While some quests and world events allow you to walk away or reload your save in order to reset them, this is not the case for every instance within Valhalla. We strongly recommend regularly adding manual saves, especially before and after pivotal moments, to ensure you have backup states to revert to if needed.
Please rest assured that the issues with The Big Finish that this megathread concerns remains under investigation and we'll share news as soon as possible. If you have any additional feedback to share, or any concerns or questions, you're welcome to send that our way for us to look at with you.
Finally, regarding your mention of a legal dispute - we are unable to advise with regard to these, and must ask that you contact your legal representative in all matters such as this. They will be able to advise and reach out to the right people within Ubisoft if that is your wish.
@PBMCMLXXI - Thank you for your video of the issue - I have added this to our ongoing conversation with the developers. Once we have an update to share, we'll let you all know here in this megathread. I'd also like to ask that you refrain from spreading misinformation; both my team and the developers are working hard to investigate and work on this issue, and we'll share new information as soon as we are able to do so. Thank you.
@filterdoesntjam - Great to hear, thank you for the clarification!
@Arbitrary-Larry - Hello there! Thank you for joining the discussion and sharing your experience of this issue. I am sorry to hear that you are also impacted. Could you possibly share a video of the issue as it appears on your PS5 version of the game? Can you also let me know your support case reference number so that I can check out any existing information you may have already provided there, and forward it to the developers? Many thanks!
@ImaginaryRuins and @dorinash1 - I have passed forward your requests for big Eel to be implemented as feedback for the developers to consider. As with any feedback, I cannot promise that any changes will be made to the game, but rest assured that your voices will be heard and the team will consider the request. For now, you can both rest assured that you have caught every fish that was intended to be in the game, and in every size that is available. Thanks for taking the time to get back to me on this!
Also @dorinash1, just as a tip for the future to avoid multiple posts / bumping - you can reply to the main thread but address individual replies by tagging users separately using the @ symbol, then their username. You can navigate across multiple pages in a thread (and even multiple threads, if needing to reference others still with your reply open) on the desktop website, so consider doing this in the future to prevent repeat posts! Thanks!
Hey @viperchick-8750 - on mobile the search functionality is accessed using the "search" magnifying glass button in the bottom-right corner of your screen, on the floating menu. If you then need advanced search options when your search is returned, you can then click the green "advanced search" button to be presented with further search options.
Please share screenshots of the mobile site as it appears on your phone if you're still unable to locate these options, and I'll do my best to assist further.
@dorinash1 - Those indeed appear to be Eel, however, as I mentioned big Eel are not a species in the game by design according to the developers. If you would like me to submit your feedback to add the big Eel, I am happy to do so. As a final comment, I've merged your two posts to try and prevent bumping. Thanks!
Thank you for your updates to this thread regarding visual and audio stutter when using hybrid input mode since my last reply, and please accept my sincere apologies that it has been a little while since my last response.
I am pleased to advise you all that the development team marked this issue as resolved as of TU 22.214.171.124. This issue should therefore no longer be occurring for any of you, and you should be able to seamlessly change between keyboard and mouse and a controller when hybrid input mode is enabled, without the audio stuttering or loss of audio.
If you still find that this issue occurs for you following the deployments of TU 126.96.36.199 and TU 1.2.1, please do let us know and answer the questions I previously listed in order to give us the best idea of how serious the issue is:
- PC specs in brief (CPU, GPU, RAM)
- Keyboard / mouse models
- Controller type
- Description of your audio set-up (e.g. do you use a headset, surround sound system, stereo speakers etc.)
- Description of the audio loss; is it complete, partial? Does it last for a few seconds only, or is the loss of audio permanent?
I can then reopen the investigation with the development team, and make sure that they look into this issue again if it's persistent! Thank you all for your time and patience, and have a great week.
@Yesin069 - Thank you for confirming previously in the thread that the issue was resolved for you. I hope that your experience of playing Valhalla has improved since!
Hey @lordhelmchen87 - please accept my sincere apologies that I missed your tag of me updating this thread. Thank you very much for getting back to me, and I'm very sorry to hear that you were unable to continue playing after the February update.
I've chased an update from the development team as to the status of their investigation into this issue, as I can see that it is still ongoing. In the meantime, as there have been a couple of additional patches since your last post, could you kindly update me as to whether you're still experiencing this issue at the moment? Have you been able to load any saves at all?
Thank you, and please let me know if I can offer any further assistance.
Thank you for continuing to report your experiences of missing grass, foliage, tent coverings, and other supporting scenery to us here in this thread, and I sincerely apologise for the delay in our reply. I have chased an update on this issue from the development team, as I am aware that it has been ongoing for a considerable time now, and the status of the investigation continues to be in progress. I will keep you all updated with the latest information I receive, and thank you for your understanding in the meantime.
We continue to appreciate your submission of videos of the issue to forward onto the investigating team, and would encourage you to keep providing these for reference, particularly now that TU 1.2.1 has been applied. It would be great if we could receive evidence of the issue still occurring on this version of the game. Thank you.
@LatinFlyer - Hey there! The issue with "A Brewing Storm" should now be resolved as of the deployment of TU 1.2.1. If you find that you are still experiencing this issue, please report this over on our dedicated megathread and make sure to provide a video of the issue, showing that the latest version of the game is installed on your console. With regard to the issue that this thread concerns, please refer to my above comments. Thanks!
@stroodle_910 - Thank you for updating us, and letting us know that the issue has not reoccurred since you reloaded a save before it started. Please do keep us updated as to whether the issue ever comes back.
@Spades1961 - We're still investigating this issue with the missing grass/foliage/tent coverings etc., for which I sincerely apologise. Regarding the missing fish, if you weren't aware, a partial fix has been implemented in TU 1.2.1, which allows you to find all of the fish that were previously missing! You can join the discussion regarding this in our dedicated megathread if you're struggling to find them. Regarding the final issue you mention, with Reda's contracts - can you please elaborate on this, so I can fully understand which issue you are referring to? Do you mean that you have accepted them from Reda, but then do not have them in your quest list to complete? Thank you!
@filterdoesntjam & @TooBadToWin - Thank you both for letting us know that this issue is no longer occurring for you on TU 1.2.1! I am very glad to hear that this is the case. Would you both mind confirming whether you loaded your most recent save, or an older one, after the update for our reference? Many thanks!
@PBMCMLXXI - Hello there! If you are continuing to experience this issue since TU 1.2.1, it would be helpful to us if you could provide us with a video demonstrating this, as well as confirmation of your platform. Regarding refunds, our refund policies for digital and physical purchases can be found on the hyperlinked pages respectively. For us to consider a refund request, you must have purchased the game from the Ubisoft Store; if you purchased the game from any other retailer, your request must be submitted to them. Refunds are considered on a case-by-case basis, and you can request one either from your order history or via our support website. Thanks!
@LatinDeus, @gufrann_sid, @pastryunit247, @Mshalabi, @dazzy983 & @guest-4q9x0szr - Thank you for your reports of this issue, and I am sorry to hear that you have all been impacted. Are you able to provide a video of the issue occurring, if it is still present for you on TU 1.2.1? Have you also tried what other players have suggested previously, which is to try reloading an older save game after reopening the game client?
Just a quick update before I reply to everyone individually - it has been confirmed to us that there are no big Eel in-game by design. There are only small and regular Eel. @dorinash1, I know that you were asking about this, and a couple of others throughout the history of the thread as well. If you have any additional feedback you'd like to share on this, I'm happy to pass it forward for the developers' consideration.
@Garbo3 - Anytime! Very glad to see you managed to capture the elusive big Mackerel! Best of luck with your future adventures, and please do let me know if there is any additional assistance that I can offer at any time with regard to this fish-ue.
@AlexAetM - Just to confirm, have you handed in all other deliveries, and now just need to be asked about the final delivery in order to acquire the swordfish? As there is one last delivery you will need to complete, yes. Can you please provide a video showing that Arth does not initiate the dialogue for the final delivery, if it continues after doing the following: reloading your save game; restarting the game and your console / PC; completing our basic troubleshooting for your platform (PC / PS4 / PS5 / XB1 / XBSX|S).
@CitizenNowhere - Very glad to hear you finally caught those pesky fish! Let us know if you need additional assistance in the future!
@DragonMasterM37 - Thank you for taking the time to share your experiences of catching the missing fish - your descriptions and advice will likely help others still in the process! Regarding the big Flatfish, at least for me (using a 55" LG OLED TV) they appeared larger than the other sizes of the same fish. They can also usually be told apart due to their tendency to jump out of the water, as with all big fish.
@KopfSmertZz & @Valhalla2015 - Thanks for sharing your tips!
