I did just talk to Ubisoft Support via chat and they said their dev team is aware of it and working on it, so hopefully this will be resolved soon.
As mentioned in some other posts, the audio quality in this game is some of the worst I have heard in a very long time. All audio sounds overly compressed, dialogue in particular is flat with no lows or mids. Levels and mixing are all over the place with some sounds being ear piercingly loud (like the air assassination noise) and some barely audible. There's definitely something wrong with your audio files, whether it's compression or just the general audio design. I hope someone will be looking into this asap, this is not really acceptable quality for a full priced game.
I also experience the same thing, audio sounds like it's been super compressed. There's no mids or lows, audio levels are all over the place, many sounds are far too high pitched and too loud (like the air assassination noise for example) dialogue in particular sounds terrible. Like it's a very low bitrate. Even the original AC in 2007 had better audio though you could still hear the compression then, but this is much worse. I sincerely hope there's a fix on the way as it's very distracting and not pleasant..
Same here, like I said on another post the audio quality is abysmal. Everything sounds overly compressed and flat, no mids or lows, levels are all over the place. A bit concerned that there aren't more posts about this. I hope this gets resolved asap as its very distracting.
@captainstarpaw I linked this thread as well as other threads in my initial support ticket, the support person went away for a few minutes to investigate and came back to say that this issue is something they're aware of and that the dev team are working on resolving it.
I think the best thing to do would be for everyone to be vocal about it on these forums but also create a support ticket/bug report just so they know there is demand for this in their ticketing system. More tickets = more visibility. Also if you filter these forums by votes, the audio issues are among the most voted posts on the Player Support forum so they definitely can't miss it. Support for Odyssey was really good post release, so I am hopeful that this will get sorted soon as well.
Of course, there's no excuse that this was released in the state it has been. I am considering asking for a refund until this is resolved as well, just to prove a point.
@therealdaemon They have also refused my refund saying that if a game is launched once it cannot be refunded anymore. They're happily breaching the law and my statutory rights as per the Consumer Rights Act 2015 in the UK. I have informed them of this and they are adamant that they will not refund me, so I am also looking into pursuing legal action at the moment. I recommend everyone who has their refund request rejected look up their local consumer rights law and if you are within your statutory right to receive a refund you should look into filing a formal complaint to the appropriate legal body.
@moon-pye My settings are fine, this is an issue with the game in general and none of the settings make it any better. I went through the full audio range settings, dialogue boost, etc, nothing improves audio quality.
@palpyisback Yeah, we should probably be mindful that the devs are most likely taking it easy and trying to recover from that scare. I'm really glad nothing worse happened, but a situation like that can be pretty traumatising and exhausting either way. I hope they respond to this as soon as they're able and address the issue at hand (which is still significant and inexcusable), but their physical and mental health comes first. I guess this is just a reminder to keep it civil and remember that those are humans in the dev team too. I saw some really disturbing responses to the situation on Friday and I don't think anyone deserves to receive messages like that.
Ubi just posted a news update regarding the Seer's Solace quest bug
https://discussions.ubisoft.com/topic/81565/seer-s-solace-quest-important-update-hotfix-is-live?lang=en-US
And they do mention this at the end of the post:
"Since we're already talking fixes: We genuinely appreciate all of you for your vigilance in reporting issues to us and want you to know that we're currently working on our next title update. You can expect fixes for some of the reported known issues (& more) later this month. Stay tuned."
Which sounds hopeful, but we'll see if it does include anything for the sound issues.
@carvalhopt Yeah, I went ahead and asked if they could add the problem to one of the official issue threads just so there's some official acknowledgement on their end, since people in here are getting a bit anxious about it.
I hope everyone keeps in mind that customer support and forum support staff most likely do not have direct contact with the devs and are in no way involved in the game's development, so please be nice to the people you talk to as I've already seen some people get banned probably because they were rude to staff. They've got little to do with these audio issues and are trying their best to relay our feedback and the priority of these issues back to the dev team. I get being unhappy about this but being mad or rude won't get anyone anywhere, if y'all are that unhappy then calmly ask for a refund instead. If you don't get anywhere with it try again a little later and talk to a different support advisor or through a different form of contact (email, chat, ticket, etc) and you will get it eventually.

I started playing on launch day
CPU: Ryzen 5 3600
GPU: Sapphire Pulse Vega 56
RAM: HyperX Predator HX432C16PB3K2 16GB 3600MHZ DDR4
Mobo: MSI Gaming Pro Carbon AC
AudioTechnica ATH M50X directly plugged into the mobo. Same issue with speakers or headphones plugged into USB sound card.
Stereo, audio settings in game do not make a difference whatsoever either
Not my video but demonstrates it well. Dialogue at 2:20 sounds like needles piercing my ears even though Varin is supposed to be whispering. The S and F sounds are so badly blown out, it makes me physically nauseous to play this game.
I only got to try it for a few minutes just now since I have other stuff to do, but from what I could tell there's not much if any improvement. Many sounds are overblown still while others are silent, I don't know if some other audio issues were resolved since others said they get clipping and such, but I don't hear anything different. It's a shame, at this point I'll probably be asking for a refund as well. New games are coming out in December and I haven't been able to play this for the past few weeks when I had time to play it, so I'm getting my money back.
Edit: Or I guess not considering their support site is offline...
@ubi-swaggins Thank you! We look forward to hearing more from the team.
