When one of my islands has a festival the part of the banner where the island name is becomes transparent/disappears.
Other islands that are not having a festival can be seen normally. Just the islands that are having festivals have the issue, the screen shot below was taken while the same thing was happening with three other islands that were having festivals.
I can't access the shares menu from the button there when this happens either.
Normal game using all current DLC with the exception of Sunken Treasures.
- Reloading from save, this did not fix the issue.
- Saving and Quitting to desktop, then reloading. This did fix the issue.
I think a cathedral set up like the palace is would be awesome. Perhaps not with so many wings, but with the ability to customize the appearance and such would be awesome. A new class of residents could be introduced (nuns/monks, or something) with new needs like the illuminated scripts from Enbesa and perhaps a candle of some type like the lanterns there. You could also make use of the new panorama mechanic being introduced with the High Life to the cathedral monument to determine bonuses to religious residents and bonus attractiveness. Perhaps the cathedral could have bonuses that apply to churches (like the palace with town halls) that are in range, giving bonus happiness and reduced need for certain normal resident needs like beer or something.Perhaps the cathedral could provide bonuses to the money earned from beer and champagne production facilities in range (or perhaps an attractiveness bonus to those facilities) as a nod to the historical precedent of some monasteries and churches and such making wine/beer.
Even weirder Idea. What if you could designate one of the smaller islands on the old world map as a religious retreat/stronghold. The only population on that island would be religious in nature and the cathedral could be built there and then it could provide bonuses of some sort to all of the other islands that you own on the same map/session. Reduced chance of rioting, increased money from residents with a fulfilled church need, things like that.
Anyway, I like your idea, if you couldn't tell from my rambling
I would like to make two suggestions.
- Convoy: I would like the ability to create a trade convoy. This would require some new UI creation. In essence this would work similarly to how a trade route currently works, but you could assign multiple ships to the convoy. The whole convoy would stop at every island selected, but each ship could have it's own specific goods to pick up at each location. Military ships could also be assigned to the convoy (either picking up goods or not) and these could escort the convoy for protection. All of the ships would wait for each ship to load and unload goods before moving on to the next island; traveling together into and out of each session location. This idea would allow for better protection of trade routs, currently you need at least one military ship for each trade ship; with this idea you could have (as an example) 5 trade ships protected as a whole by three military ships. In a world where there are pirates, this only makes sense.
- Diving: I'm one of those people who dislike the crown falls area, purely because it devalues (in my opinion) the old world as a whole. I don't like the fact that crown falls is so large that if you use this session it only make sense to focus there due to the abundance of space. However, I do like the diving and Old Nate mechanic there. What I would like, is an option to disable the crown falls area and move Old Nate to the Old World as an additional NPC trader. Thereby I can still enjoy the whole diving mechanic without having to have the crown falls area enabled.
The convoy mechanic especially is one I'm very surprised isn't already available, and if I had to pick just one of these to implement that would be the one.
