No messages - game just locks up. After about 20-25s, it will close completely. I've checked the event viewer and it just lists that division2.exe has closed unexpectedly. I've verified the game files 2x now (no corruption found, been running in DX11 mode for about a month (or since the update, at which point I was still running in DX12). My last workaround was to delete my DirectX shader cache (eVGA 3070 Ultra with 466.27 drivers). This had at least some noticeable effect on the crash frequency, as I went from once an hour to once every 3-4 hours.
As it stands now, if I play for 3-4 hours it will occur without fail. Highest CPU temp is 63c, and with 7 case (Antec DP502 Flux) fans (including one feeding the GPU from the PSU shroud, I know that cooling is not an issue. I do have PBO enabled, but the GPU is at its stock settings. I HAVE had it occur as frequently as every 20-30m before I performed the shader cache 'fix'.
I had 2 max rolls drop from a purple on Solar Farms as a lvl 3 CP, and I have never had that happen before, especially from a purple. Was just farming for spec points and it VERY rare that I find gear better than what my 32 loadouts already have. You know you play too much when you get 2 max roll items and neither can upgrade any of your existing loadouts.
would rather stick my d*ck in a vacuum cleaner for fun
I sense a TikTok challenge right here !!!
First year I played the game, I ran around on Hard. Crap rolls everywhere. Second year I moved up to Challenging - better rolls, but not great. Last 6 months I run Heroic on all chars, and just this past month even have 3 directives on which greatly increases my XP gained - I used to average 5 SHD a night, now getting 15-20. Point to be made, the more you play, the better you get, since you know how to counter enemies and known spawn doors. You also know how to avoid taking dmg for the most part. I've even moved on to Glass Cannon on my 'Squad of 3' go-to builds (that I've used to complete all legendaries with as well).
Yea, we get it .. you're mad. We've all been mad at things that this game does, but here we are - 2.5 yrs later - and we haven't found anything better to move on to.
I much prefer DC, and you are 100% correct in why they are different. When I'm roaming DC, I rarely got ambushed at an intersection - I have great sight lines and I can set up a choke point to ambush them instead.
In NY, I round a corner and have no advance warning on my HUD that there is a patrol nearby. Add to that the fact that some factions have more armor wearing thugs and I had better have cover nearby or I am getting chewed up fast.
It surely helps that I know the DC map like the back of my hand after over 2.5k hours invested. NY is an OK change of pace, but the only reason I visit it these days is to chase the rare piece of gear that one of my builds needs for a targeted loot area.
@xlastovi The artillery turret is one of the hardest skills to use proficiently in the game. I avoided it for at least a year until I paired up with a guy who really knew how to deploy it for maximum effect. The key to using it is to try and get both you and it to an elevated position so you can fire DOWN on your targets. It may be the worst skill for YOU, but in the hands of a skilled user, it dishes out a whole world of hurt.
I recently gave a loadout of mine using an airburst seeker a spin, and managed to kill myself 2x over the course of the mission (Camp White Oak). Annoyed the crap outta me, but it was one of those skills that I rarely use, so obviously I wasn't being safe about either my target acquisition or my deployment. When it DOES catch a group, it will wipe them all out though, so it's worth using it more to get better at it.
112 loadouts spread out amongst 2 Ubi accounts and not a SINGLE ONE using GC. That talent can go [censored] off as far as I am concerned. I'd pay Ubi $20 to trash GC and bring back Patience tho
And just so you know I know what I am doing - my primary is SHD 2450 and my secondary is at 605.
An update on this thread, as I posted about my 100+ builds with not a single one using GC. I took one of my 'Squad of 3' builds (usually a 1/0/5) and changed it up a bit - I ended up with a 0/2/4 (5 with Technician) and an Empress vest with GC - part of the usual 3pc Empress, 1pc Wyvern and 2pc Belstone. To offset the fact that I am so soft, I went with Bloodsucker on the Belstone bag to give me plenty of armor coming back. To say I was stunned at how effective the build is is an understatement, as I am finding that I have yet to go down, I just do less shooting to trigger In Sync on my Police M4 or my Capacitor.
The 2 blues and Belstone do a very good job of negating any damage incoming, and while Bloodsucker isn't doing me any favors for damage, its making it feel like I am not taking in 50% more dmg from the enemy. I typically run Heroic, and so far I am glad I gave it a try, but I have a LOT of hours into this game and I know how to position myself well.
Since I just tossed the build together yesterday, I was just getting comfy with it as it was. I have both a Waveform and a Hana-U PCA bag with good rolls, so I will give it a try. That's one of the benefits of having so many chars in the game - I can farm for hours and spread out the max roll gear to other chars and loadouts. And I also rotate amongst my accounts to get 6 exotic caches just for donating to the weekly project.
I know I will miss the extra blue and Bloodsucker combo, but the damage output will undoubtedly be higher. The issue I have with dropping a blue is you are left wide open to a roaming patrol that can easily expose you at a moments notice, and then that GC vest will do you no favors at all.
@sock_monkey Ridgeways is just a terrible choice for pretty much ANY build since bleed is so weak compared to fire dmg in the game, and if your goal is to BRRRRRRTTTTT a group down to low health and hide around a corner as they bleed out, its not a good idea to try on any difficulty above Challenging. Even then, its 'heal' is as weak as the nerfed heal from TP. It SOUNDS promising, at least on a 4pc HF build with a Dark Winter and the Ridgeways vest, but I find it is one of my over 48 loadouts that I just do not have any interest in playing (all on heroic).
I'm willing to give any build a try. God knows I have been trying to make an enjoyable and beneficial OD build for years, but OD is just hard to make it work right. It remains the only gearset that punishes you for using it in a group. If you do not get a killing blow, you lose your explosive ammo loop, and once out of the loop, you lose 30% WD with it.
Edit: To add to the discussion, I recently gave Glass Cannon a run on a squad of 3 build, and I negated its 50% dmg penalty with a Wyvern bag with Bloodsucker on it, and damn does it ever dump armor all over me as my skills go on a killing spree. It isn't helping my TTK on enemies, but it really gives me assurance that I can get flanked and take some shots, but still stay upright when the shooting stops.
I dug into my stash this weekend for an AR that I have NEVER used before, and for how many loadouts I have (122 currently), that is saying something, but there sat a well rolled Glory Daze (named P416) which offers Near Sighted as its talent. I'm a big fan of the P416 as well as the Carbine 7, so I find it odd that I never tried it before. It is an absolute laser, and I know its very popular with the console crowd due to its amazing stability and handling.
@chach_qog They already added 4 more loadouts and upped the stash space to 300 and I think the inventory usta be 100. So yea, it USED to be even worse. To be honest, I think we are fine where we are.
And to answer your question before you ask me - I have 2 Ubi accounts, 8 chars (4 on each) and 128 loadouts (16x8) and I STILL have a full stash (295/300) and inventory (140+/150) on all of those chars. Do I need MOAR SPACE !??! !HELL NO. Do I want to delete 20 max rolled weapons and numerous duplicate exotics ? Not really, but that's where we are.
If you need multiple characters to store your stuff, but only play one
Pardon moi ?!? Where did you get that conclusion from ?? I play EVERY SINGLE ONE of my 8 chars across 2 Ubi accounts. I have plenty of forum members who can vouch for this. You will not catch me running the same loadout on the next night as the one I ran the night before. If you want to see how often I juggle builds, you can join me in-game (same name as my username here). Most of those builds are 85% roles or higher on all gear - I've been grinding since day 1, so you really are jumping to conclusions with your comment.
I still don't see your point. We already mentioned a stash increase, and if I can make a go of it with 16 characters and 128 (!!!) loadouts, then the stash space is ENTIRELY ADEQUATE. What am I missing here ?! I think I have pointed out why the given space is adequate. Care to counter that ?
