I am an octogenarian and relatively new to ANNO 1800. I find it a wonderful game and it provides my memory with a real work-out. However as one advances in the game I become a little overwhelmed by dealing with a number of islands in both the Old & New World. I would find it useful if one could pause activity in one world while working in the other. I hope I've explained myself but I need to spend time setting up an island and when I return to the other world (whichever that may be) I find I have difficulty catching up with events. In addition if you employ a DLC in the game that can really be too much to handle for some of us oldies at any rate.
Perhaps your developers might consider this.

Hello everyone, this is not a question or a complaint. in fact it's the reverse.
I am an Octogenarian and only came to ANNO 1800 a year ago after the demise of my wife. ANNO 1800 has been a savior to me, particularly on dark nights and poor weather when it was unsuitable for me to go out. It has kept me company and provided mental exercise and very interesting and adsorbing pastime. I have just recently managed to reach Investor level while at the same time still having adequate stocks and cash. (No easy matter) I would like to thank all involved in it's production. It does remind slightly of the much earlier game EMPEROR and I only wish they would bring that up to date. I also have ANNO 2205 but I just can't make any headway and for me the period is unattractive. Hopefully there will be further DLM's for ANNO 1800. By the way I only play off-line; and certainly don't have the confidence to do otherwise.
Many thanks. Yorky65
Hi There, My Farmers & Workers are fully content with Needs & Happiness with the exception of News. I've placed News Stands near to their dwellings but it makes no difference. I've reduced the working hours for all of them and indication is they are Content. The News Paper that pops up from time to time also indicates they are satisfied with their lot. Please can anyone advise how to provide News.
Thank you,
Yorky65
I have provided all the needs for my Farmers and Workers with the exception of 'News'; how do I do that. I have placed News Stands but it seems to make a difference.
Thanks for any help you can provide.
Regards.

@asterix201252 Thanks for that; I've had a provisional look and expect it will provide help and information as problems arise.

Thank you for your reply in which you are perfectly correct; it is Cristobal Taffeta I have in the Union. I hadn't realized that some of these additives gave bonus's above the improvement to the item being manufactured and so thanks for that. I'll certainly examine any additives I use in the future. There is certainly a very great deal to ANNO 1800 and it keeps me on my toes.
Thank you.

@yorky65 This is to add to my previous post giving the results of removing the 'Union Building. and adding 2 more Poncho Makers.
I am now getting Ponchos made on this island however they - whoever they are- are still producing Work Clothes and Fur Coats. See attachment of entry in Production Statistics. I hope this provides some help to others who may find the same things happening. Thank you. Yorky65.
@ubi-thorlof Thank you for your reply. Your comments re earthquake effect; I've tried to remember what I saw and had I perhaps employed the demolition tool by mistake. I can rule out the demolition tool as the buildings would have first appeared in red before crumbling and that was not the case and so I standby what I reported.
There are further 'bugs' discovered; On my first (Principal) Island in the New World I find I don't produce Ponchos but get the clothes of the Old World and Fur coats in large quantities. This results in having to import Ponchos from my further Island in the New World. I do however export the Clothes and Fur Coats back to the Old World and thank you very much.
There is one aspect I've yet to check on my Principal Island the Poncho Maker is aided by a 'Union Building' and a 'Darner' Aid and I wonder if this causes the mis-production. I intend to delete the Union Building and see if the Poncho Maker only then functions correctly. I'll do this and report back on my findings.
Thank you.

@hier0nimus Thank you for your reply and suggestions. I am currently playing a game with those points in mind and securing my base before moving on. In my current game I see that The AI player has oil/locos etc while I have yet to sail to the new world. Never-mind for what I do have feels secure and slowly slowly seems to be the best case of action for me.
I have learnt how to build-up the capacity of the Main Warehouse and have stocks of most items in the 500 range and by viewing what I have allows me to know which items I need to increase before moving on.
I think ANNO 1800 and the earlier games must be among the best to maintain and perhaps improve the memory and a real good exercise for the older player.
Thank you and my regards.

Order of events: Ubisoft email announcing the new DLC Seed of Change.
I viewed the video and followed a link to a pod-cast describing it's content.
When next logging in to an on-going game I first received a download of some 2.6Gb update. (Saturday 23rd April)
While playing the game I noticed the additions in the Warehouse Menu of Dung/Hot Sauce and Fertilizer.
OK - I believed these changes must have taken place with the new update in readiness for using the Seed of Change DLC
Fair enough and no problem. However when continuing with my game started before the above events I read and heard notifications of Schnapps running out from the New World. This product not in use in the earlier game I was playing and I do not have the Seed of Change DLC.
While looking at an Island in the New World owned by Princess Ying (AI) I observed and heard a cracking noise and a fissure appear in the islands surface and some of the dwellings crumbling - this I believe to be an earthquake. The game I play is Custom and at the easiest level and I've never seen this action before but I expect it may be a feature in more advanced levels.
Is this perhaps a 'bug' of some sort created by the update?
I advise of the above out of interest and must add it didn't spoil my enjoyment of the game.
Once I gain a little more confidence I expect I'll purchase the DLC to stretch me further.
Thank you.

@ubi-thorlof Thank you for your reply. Actually I had 'engaged brain' and realized that produce etc could not continue to be supplied from the other 'World' if it were to be paused. I much appreciate your reply which confirms I appear to be still thinking despite my advanced age.
Thank you. Yorky65.
