@guest-3j072ykg Perhaps I wasn't clear in my previous posts; I was able to interact with the door to speak to the druid (soooo many weeks ago), though I probably tried without the hood first and then the hood. I was then given - seemingly - the tasks to light the straw men and review the clues. The druid relocated outside while I tried a zillion combinations of actions, only to then discover there was a long-outstanding, game breaking bug with this quest. Like others had reported, I had visited the are before being assigned the quest and lit the straw men on fire. Like many others have reported, no combination of re-trying actions, loading saves, or fast-travelling has helped. Like for so many others, the (#@$^*#$) druid just sits and dances and I cannot interact.
THIS NEEDS TO END UBISOFT. It's clear that that the QC team and/or devs after several months have no idea how to patch this properly. So pardon for being a jerk, BUT I DON'T CARE ANYMORE CODE A WORKAROUND TO END THIS STUPID QUEST INSTEAD OF TRYING TO FIGURE OUT EDGE CASES AND WRITE CLEVER CODE TO ADDRESS THEM.
@mfcristian92 That is epic. Perhaps you can drop off his dead body in the AC Valhalla QA/QC department next?
The fact that the devs are still asking for saved games is enraging at this point. Having years of experience dealing with SW development as a profession, this tells me the devs are trying to untangle a mess of spaghetti code with a million problems tying to run down the logic flowcharts to find the exxaaacccttt place their code is still going wrong. Instead of just going "Check - did player start mission XXX", "is player located at X,Y,Z (druid house)", and if both = either a) mark quest as completed or b) present option "There is a known issue with this quest - would you like to skip it and mark as complete". BYPASSING the entire horrible flowchart of broken programming logic.
BTW, not only am I past purchaser of multiple AC games, I am also a Far Cry customer. At least, a former one - given my experience here, I'm now planning on skipping FC6, as there is no way in heck I want to sink my time and money into it just to encounter this nonsense again.
@zuganug Edit: I got him to open the door. Tried every combination of lighting all 5 men and then clues (in various orders), and doing the clues, then the men. If the men aren't lit, it instructs that the ritual needs fire. After lighting all 5, it then changes to something like investigate the clues. After checking them all out, I go to the druid who is dancing like an idiot, and no cutscene nor option Y to interact happens. Have reloaded saves where I had the quest assigned but had not approached the house, but get the same problem.
@marodir Agree 100%. No excuse for not providing a workaround for a game-finishing blocking bug, and everytime I see another response saying 'thanks for the input, no timeframe for a release' I get angrier. Yet another weekend has gone by I finish the stupid game. At this point, the enjoyment I did get out of it has become far outweighed by my frustration with this. I skipped the last AC game and this one might be my last if it's any indication of the quality going into this series.
@lordtachungusyt Yep, same here
@ubi-woofer Almost another week has gone by and not even a hint of a release date for a workaround. Obviously, I won't be buying any DLC, and at this point, have filed a review on Amazon and do not plan on purchasing further AC games unless something drastic changes. I understand games have bugs, but it's the horrible response and customer service on fixing them that I can't abide. I hope these threads make it to the Ubisoft development and marketing teams, and that the company understands not only how upset they make customers, but how much follow on revenue you are losing by treating us this way.
Ubisoft - I skipped the last game and took a chance on Valhalla. The game has good moments, a lot of repetition (can you say shops?) and a lot of flaws. I pre-ordered it, and bought a helix package. I just spent the last three hours with the Clues and Riddles bug, trying at least a couple of dozen times to make it work. As others have said, this is a joke - 2 months of this game-breaking problem and still not fixed? I DO NOT have any sympathy or patience with game-breaking bugs.
I'm not going to curse, I'm simply going to say this is unacceptable and I demand a fix (or it least have the common sense to just allow the option to bypass or complete the whole thing) or a refund for the game AND the helix purchase - and before you say it's not refundable, I'll file a charge back to my visa company.
Please let us know NOW exactly when we can expect a fix otherwise I'll file chargebacks and return to Amazon with a letter of complaint to their customer service. I'm not going to just sit and let you keep my money for a game you won't fix.
Hard to describe how angry I am at not just the Clues and Riddles issues but all of the other serious quest bugs. AC is a franchise that has made an incredible amount of money and there’s no excuse for the poor quality of not just the programming and visuals but the obvious lack of quality control. It remains unacceptable to me that game breaking bug sit out there not just for weeks but months. And not even an apology or gesture of appreciation from Ubisoft as a company. Please stop screwing around with these larger patches and hotfix the ** game breaking bugs ** NOW.
Its been about 2 weeks without any response. What the F is going on with this, Ubisoft? Is it really your corporate policy to release a game with many game breaking bugs and then just de-prioritize fixing them.
WHY DO YOU HAVE BANDWIDTH TO RELEASE RIVER RAID WITHOUT FIXING THESE SORTS OF ISSUES?

@stbrss if you mean the hood, for me and I think maybe all of the others, we have tried interacting with the Druid both with the hood on and the hood off. Neither works.

Maybe this bears pointing out - As I already posted, this patch has done nothing to fix the problem. Many people have complained about interacting with the door - I was able to do this early in the quest, and if it matters, the door remains open now and cannot be interacted with. The clues I see that are highlighted with Odin's sight are: 1) Statue in pond, 2) skulls outside house on porch on side with straw man hung from tree above sheep, 3) upside down dagger inside door, 4) three ways to kill a person on table, 5) spoons under house 6) symbol on door outside of house.
Is. This. Really. So. Hard. To. Fix. after 3 months of QC analysis and patch development??
Loaded patch. Didn't fix it. Tried re-lighting men, visiting clues - no help (BWT, people keep mentioning a jar - inside the house per se, I only see the upside down dagger and three ways to kill. Visited all clues, no change. Saved and reloaded, no change. Fast travelled away and rode back, no change. This is on XBOX ONE.
[censored] IS GOING ON WITH THE QC ON THIS DAMN GAME?????
